Worst service experience ever

UPDATE: After Chad P and the Vorderman team learned about my recent service experience through the online reviews they immediately reached out to rectify the situation and retain me as a customer. They were very apologetic and understood where my frustration stemmed from. Vorderman has agreed to address any issues, free of charge, with my vehicle that has resulted from my recent service with them... they even gave me a loaner car for the duration of the service. If everything goes well this time around, I will be returning to Vorderman for future servicing of my GTI. AVOID: Worst dealership experience ever! Too many details to get into but just moved to Indiana from Florida with my '09 GTI and needed an expert diagnosis on my car. After being met by a pompous service advisor, on the way out of the dealership my wife and I witnessed the lot boy doing donuts with my car in the back of the parking lot. Not only did Vorderman NOT repair one of the issues they admitted it was there and said it was normal for the climate. When I confronted them about why other VWs don't make the noise they claimed it is the result of a different design. So instead of fixing the issue that I found, they decided to fix something else and try to make me believe it would fix the noise. Secondly, they misdiagnosed my anti lock brakes failing in the snow (pretty dangerous) and claimed it was fixed when they sent me off on the road... After putting my foot into the brake to test it myself the ABS failed again... Tech came for a ride along and told me it was acting normally. After insisting he was wrong, a second diagnostic scan uncovered a fault ABS Control Module.... Oh I almost forgot, they also DESTROYED one of my wheels by running into the vehicle lift. Although they offered to replace it at no charge, it still should have never happened. After all was said and done, they tried to up charge me for work that was covered under my extended warranty. Only after I called the warranty company myself and verified all the charges did the service advisor adjust the bill. I have never been compelled to write a review until now... Will also file a formal complaint with the BBB.

Excellent Service

I have taken my car to "Vorderman Volkswagen" for service even though I purchased the new vehicle elsewhere. There 10,000 mile service was Excellent. I also returned the car to have the electronics replaced and they did an Excellent Job.

Great service

Love the dealership, they treat you right, and best of all, they sell Volkswagens! I have been a lover of the VW brand, starting with a Beetle(63) when I was a senior in high school. Have owned several different models and these guys have the best service dept I have ever seen. Great job!!

Great to Work with!!!

We purchased our Volkswagen EOS convertible from Vorderman Volkswagen and we LOVE it!!! The crew at Vorderman perform regular maintenance on our vehicle for free, and always give the car back washed and vacuumed! (free oil change, fluids checks, tire checks, etc...all free for three years as part of the purchase) We did have a little bit of trouble recently with a seal on the trunk, and their service department was extremely easy to work with and took care of the warranty work quickly and professionally. They have never charged us for any warranty work. We recently hit a huge pothole and it flattened our front tire. Upon checking prices, we found Vorderman's price (for the new tire, mounting and balancing) to be lower than the same tire from Sears. We would recommend this dealership to anyone!! They are great to work with!

Repeat Customer: buyer, Seller, and Service

I can trust Vorderman in Fort Wayne, IN to service my very complicated car-a VW Phaeton. Their advice is always appreciated and their service makes me feel my car is in tip top shape. I like this company so much I have bought another car from them in addition to letting them work on all of my previous cars. It is like a "no problem" zone for me; not a problem to schedule my car; not a problem to fix it, and not a problem to tell me the truth--and that is the MOST IMPORTANT asset of a car dealership.

Vorderman Rocks!

I've now purchased two vehicles from this dealership (a 2004 Phaeton and a used 2003 Passat) and have been consistently impressed with the quality of their service department. Everybody I've dealt with there (Heath, their service manager, is awesome) has been extremely professional and helpful. The fact is, their service department is the reason I went there first when looking for a car for my daughter. Excellent people who know their stuff. I'd highly recommend this dealership.

Vorderman is A++ with me

This dealership services my VW Phaeton and never makes me feel like I am being a bit neurotic about the condition of my car. They are always professional; courteous, and ready to tackle the most complex or the simplest of my problems. They have gone to the insurance company for me to get coverage on several items and have also paid for a rental for me. They are never too busy to hear my complaint or to solve my problem. I enjoy taking my car in for its service calls. I have dealt with both the service and the sales side and I have nothing but praise. Thanks guys

Poor service from Vorderman Volkswagen, arrogant attitude, shady practices

Took my wife's 2001 Turbo Beetle in for service; the battery was being drained quickly during normal usage and it turned out to be faulty alternator wiring. The car actually died completely on the way to the dealership and we had to be towed the rest of the way. Vorderman VW was closed by the time we got there, and I filled out the paperwork. I noted that I wanted all parts saved. Larry from the service department called the next business day. As part of their service, Vorderman claimed to replace a fuse (part cost $1) and a fuse panel (part cost $104). The total bill was in the range of $400. They recommended more than $2000 in additional services (which we declined) and we picked up the car. Upon arrival, we checked out with Jamie. I noted that I requested the parts be saved; he was unprofessional and rude and copped an attitude questioning why I'd even want the parts saved. We left but Larry called back a few days later as Jamie had claimed to have gone dumpster diving to find the fuse panel that came from our car. They shipped us the part, but when we got it, it was clear that it wasn't from our car! By this time, I had also checked under the hood of the vehicle. It was obvious the $1 fuse was replaced. It was not, however, obvious that the fuse panel had been replaced. In fact, it seemed likely that they just replaced a fuse and charged us for the whole part without replacing anything. I called Larry to express my displeasure that the part was not from our vehicle. He was apologetic but didn't seem surprised. I requested that the part be refunded from our bill. He said he would see what he could do and someone would call me back. No one called back until I made a call a week later and left a message for Larry. At that point, the service manager, Heath, called me back. I explained the situation and once again requested the price of the part be refunded. He told me he would see what he could do and someone would call me back. It's been more than a week and no one's called me back. Unfortunately it seems as though Vorderman Volkswagen's service department is content collecting money in a shady manner without any true regard for customers.

Vorderman Motor Werks was originally founded in 1990 by Reg Vorderman as a service department with focus on European imports. Employees consisted of his wife, Connie, and a select group of highly qualified technicians. In 1998, we acquired the local Volkswagen dealership, now known as Vorderman VW.
