Charged for something they didn’t complete

onLacking in communication. I took my vehicle in for a radio software update. A prior Toyota dealership told me I needed a software update. They attempted it but it failed. They charged me $87 and told me I need a new $1,000 radio and nav system.

onThe person I encountered and interacted with at the service department was irritable from the moment we stepped in the door, inconsiderate and dismissive, to the extent that another customer I did not know even commented on how terrible it was and that they clearly did not care about what issues I may be having with my vehicle. The worker literally turned her back on me while I was talking to her mid-sentence and walked out into the bay before I could completely explain what my needs/concerns were, wherein she began putting things into her computer. When she did come back in, she announced that we would not be dealing with my specific concerns on today’s date, which I never expected but was simply asking that the technicians take a look so I could set something up in the future to have that issue addressed. She then walked away from me and behind the desk, so I approached and she looked up from her computer and said “what?” I simply asked if she needed anything further from me (as this was my first service visit and I didn’t know how this process worked). She told me she didn’t need anything else from me and she would get me when it was done. I thanked her and walked away and took a seat in the waiting area. When my car was done she wanted me to sign papers but did not address my previously articulated concerns. I had to pointedly ask about my two specific concerns. I had to ask about what, if anything, was discovered about my one concern that required technician evaluation, which was, in fact, validated and recognized by a technician. I had to then inquire further about setting up an appointment or how I needed to proceed forward, to-wit: when and how to get my this matter scheduled for repair. My other issue was a minor request for a replacement key. I also had to ask about that, again, as well. I was simply told that my replacement key could not be provided today because no-one was there to handle it (which is fine), but I had to, again, prompt and inquire of this “service provider” how and when to obtain that in the future. Additionally, some of the “covered” services which were to be performed were not performed, which I did not realize until after I left and looked at separate paperwork I was given only after I had to sign the “file copy” which indicated the tire rotation had occurred when it, in fact, had not. I paid for a service I did not receive. I would never recommend anyone deal with this place!!! Kindness and respect to humankind should matter, and it clearly did not to this woman. I feel I wasted literally thousands of dollars for this “service.” So incredibly disappointing, as my sales experience had been a positive one.

onI was dreading to trade vehicles but was greeted by Rick Mewes as I was walking to the door. Told him what I wanted to look at and he asked us a few questions while they brought the car upfront for me to see. Went out with us to look it over, handed us the keys and said take it for a drive and see what you think. That’s how easy it was to buy a car! No pressure, just like talking to friend you know and dealing with. He went out of his way to get the car ready (to his standards) for us to drive home that day! I was very impressed, thank you!

onMade an appointment for 845am to have Tacoma serviced; oil change, tire rotation, new wipers, fluids checked out and topped off. Went home, received a call at 930 am, all done! Best part is the cost was much less than I anticipated.

onI've traveled some 300 miles from Chicago to pick up a truck from Shottenkirk's. I had a good feeling about this deal simply based on couple of phone conversations. They've been holding my truck for me based on given word, picked me up from the train, offered a hot lunch.
