RIPPED OFF

by rmanley1 on 08/13/2016

Unhappy- Unbelievable. Had to pay $1300 in repairs out of pocket for a used car I bought from them just 4 months and 5k miles after buying it. I had brought the vehicle to them for the concern a couple weeks and a few hundred miles after buying it while it was still under their supposed 90 day/3k mile warranty. They told me the engine Knock/Rattle was normal. It was not. Had it repaired at a better Toyota dealer by a much more qualified technician. Buy somewhere else.

Terrible experience

by Shockers34 on 11/14/2015

Do your homework at Peterson... These guys make you a deal then sit you down to sign a deal that is nothing like you agreed to. Interest rate was not even close to the agreed rate. I qualified for their 1+ financing. Toyotas best rate. Price for the vehicle went up due to hidden fees. Payment was hundreds of dollars more than agreed to. Taxes were calculated wrong by thousands of dollars. I asked why the deal changed, their response was that they had a software update error in the finance department that calculated the deal wrong. I wasted three trips to this place with three completely different results. All of which weren't even close the hand shake deal that was made. Please double check your deal and ask questions of you see something that looks odd.

2013 Scion FRS

by Rapiddan45 on 10/05/2013

Great dealership to work with. Under construction but still very willing to work with you and figure out all your wants/needs. They had the car I wanted on the lot, took it for a test drive and loved it. I wanted one in the Ultramarine color which they did not have, but found one to my specs, 6spd manual with the touch screen audio. And had it there within a week. When I pulled up, was already all detailed and fuel tank topped off. Add that to the Scion Pure pricing and Service Boost, couldn't beat it. Also Military receives an additional $500 off which was great. Talk to Jeff, he'll take great care of ya and get you in exactly what you want. Highly recommended!

Finally bought one

by dippingboise on 09/16/2013

I was shopping around for a few months before I finally decided to purchase a vehicle from Peterson Lexus. Jake was always available for questions, and was patient while I was trying to decide which vehicle I wanted. I finally purchased a used Lexus IS 250 and couldn't be happier! I will definitely be going back when I upgrade to the IS 350 F-Sport in the future.

Great Sales Rep. Unimpressed with Finance Rep.

by dderelict on 09/16/2013

I purchased a 2013 Toyota 4Runner Limited Edition from Troy who was very knowledgeable, personable, and easy to do business with. Neither my wife nor I were too impressed with the Finance representative. He was flat out dishonest. When educating us on the various maintenance packages, he said several times that with the discount he was offering us, the platinum package was the same cost as the gold and silver maintenance packages. Even told us that Toyota may not even accept the gold/silver packages on a new car, which of course raised the question, "Why have them if you can't sell them to us?" When pushed to give us a price quote on the lesser packages, turns out the gold was $100 less than platinum, and silver was $200 less than platinum. Why he felt it necessary to tell us they were the same price I'm not sure, but we ended up not buying the maintenance package nor financing the car via Peterson Toyota.

Shawn Lancaster is the best!

by buckhunter3 on 06/10/2011

The family needed a new car and were trying to save on money. Shawn treated us like we were family and with guys like that, the days of the car salesman are long gone! He was so friendly, open and buying the car was simple as i have ever experienced.

Marlon Velazquez

by mllllr on 06/09/2011

I love the 2010 Toyota Venza I purchased from Marlon last month! Not only did I get exactly the car I wanted, I got a great price and wonderful service! Marlon took his time to explain how the Navigation system works, and I think I finally understand. This is my fourth car I have purchased from Marlon, and intend to return for my next. Great customer service after the car was delivered. I even attended that Toyota New Car event. What a nice idea to show Toyota owners what Peterson's is all about. THANK YOU!!

Why buy anywhere else?

by deborahinboise on 06/08/2011

My husband & I have been working with Shawn Lancaster since 1998! He's a no pressure, very knowledgeable saleman who has always given us the best pricing on all our vehicles. We consider him a friend. After purchasing a Tacoma, leasing 3 Camry's and just recently buying a Lexus Certified Preowned RX-350 why would we go anywhere else?

Petersons is the best in the west! really!

by ecblmckee on 05/05/2011

Peterson Autoplex is the best in the west! Really!! We recently moved to another state, and I am constantly telling my husband that we need to move back to Idaho because Peterson's took care of us the right way! We have a 2007 Camry from them and we recently bought a brand new Sienna. My husband went all the way back to Idaho just to get it from Peterson Autoplex, because we were unable to find as great of a deal and the kind of good service that we always do with them. You can count on Petersons!! So happy with these guys! We will ALWAYS make the trip to Idaho to continue to do business with Peterson Autoplex. Thank you Petersons, for giving us a car dealer we can trust!

Bad Dealership

by nativeidaho on 03/01/2011

I bought a new car from these guys as they were the only dealer in the area with the make and color I was looking for. Do NOT buy a car from this dealership. They will lie to you and rip you off on your trade in and on the price you pay for the new vehicle. There are other dealerships in the area that are honest. I have caught these guys lying so many times since I purchased the vehicle that I will never go back. Hopefully I can save someone else from making the mistake of dealing with these [violative content deleted].

Great Experience

by dawoody45 on 03/08/2010

I have purchased three vehicles from this dealership; the latest one a 2010 Camry Hybrid. My wife and I have been treated with respect each time and all of the people involved with the sales have been as helpful as anyone could ever expect. I have always felt comfortable with my purchase after each experience. They have also already done the recall fixes on my two vehicles that were effected. I don't necessarily like the way Toyota, the company, handled the recall business, but Peterson Toyota has been straight with us.

Communication horrible

by ball2 on 06/05/2009

I have been looking for a car for quite sometime. As I searched for different to look I came across Peterson Autoplex. My mother, sister were with me to pick out a certain car, Finally came across this Toyota Echo. Checked it out and days later sent my step dad to test drive it to make sure everything sounded good. He of course said it sounded great. I became psyched to get this car since I first saw it. Then the day came where my parents had called to see if it would be all right to take it to the mechanic to get it checked. They had informed us it was sold. Day later just for kicks I got my sister to call. She had asked a salesman about the car and he said that the Echo was still available and said about coming to see it. Finally everything was going great. Got a hold of my parents to let them know and we drove over which was about a 25 minute drive plus gas. As I approached the dealer I saw no Echo asked the salesman and they had said they had sold it the night before. This got us all upset since we had spent our time and money on seeing the car and all they said was, "Well I am sorry, I will let you go on with your day." Worse experience I have had at any dealership and don't plan on ever buying from them due to their horrible customer service along with their horrible communication among all employees. I suggest those who think about going their think twice,

Frustration

by donp5 on 04/26/2009

I have been looking for a new Toyota Tundra for several months. I thought it would be a good idea to visit Peterson to try and work with a local dealer. In the beginning, the salesman promised a great deal and that they wanted to earn my business. I made a reasonable offer based on our initial discussions and spent most of the afternoon getting a guilt trip about how I need to support local businesses and should pay more. They finally came off about $200 after I told them I was moving on (I hate these type of salesman tactics). I asked to see the invoice or work up an "out the door" price and I would come down and buy the vehicle. They refused to do this until I came down to the dealership. This was a red flag that I was going to get the "hard sell" if I drove down to the dealership. I decided to move on. It seems they want you to be loyal and supportive of local businesses without treating customers with the same trust. It should have been an easy sell, but it turned into a series of frustrations.

1 Popcorn Bag out of 5

by cwilson55 on 10/20/2007

Today I thought I would stop in and check out the new Toyota Tundra pickups. I was there bright and early and met the the usual "wolves" waiting for the proverbial rabbit to come by the ambush point. Then I hooked up with "my" salesman Darin Bunger. After the initial pleasantries, I was told about the incentives to move out the 2007's and that a $6000.00 incentive was in place. I figured this might be a great opportunity and was quoted a price that was exactly $6000.00 off of the MSRP posted in the truck's window. Darin also told me that the dealership was actually losing money on the deal because of Toyota directives requiring them to move the 2007's out or they wouldn't be getting their alottment. After hearing just about everything there is from dealerships, I just went along with the game. I took the quote and thought it over during the day and decided to take my son back to the dealership to see what he thought. He liked the Tundra so I asked for a quote on trading in my 2004 GMC Sierra 2500HD with a 6" Fabtech Lift. After waiting for 45 minutes I tracked down Darin and was told that my vehicle was being refused for trade-in due to the Fabtech lift because of liability. Needless to say, I was slightly unnerved at "my" salesman and the dealership. The bad news is that there is no immediate relief in sight. I will ask my attorney to look into the Fabtech situation but have left the exchange feeling not only dissatisfied with the treatment but also with the possibility of all trade-ins being refused for virtually any reason.
