Buyer beware

We are snowbirds in FL and have always been told "if you need to buy a vehicle, go to Arcadia, they beat everyone's price." So with that in mind, we shopped around and found a vehicle at Desoto Auto Mall. Our salesman was very helpful and not pushy. We went in to discuss price and see what discounts we qualified for. The sales manager brought over an "out the door" price (no detail, just final figure). People were right! They were beating everyone's price by about $5,000! We bought the vehicle! Two days later, we were reviewing all the paperwork and realized that the "out the door" price had our $5,000 deposit also deducted from the price! We think that was a pretty shady way to sell a vehicle. If you choose to shop there...make sure you ask for all the details on the price before signing and don't be in a hurry.

My wife and I just purchased a new Ford from Desotomall and could not be more pleased. A couple of days later a gentleman named Bill Kelly from the service dept called to introduce himself and check on us and our new car. We have purchased many new cars and no other dealership has ever done this. We will come back again. Thanks

Best Service Department in the Area

The service department at DeSoto Automall is one of the best I have experienced. The service advisers treat you like a human being, and will give you a timely, accurate diagnosis and let you know the steps that must be taken to fix the problem. Even when I bring my vehicle in for an oil change, the mechanics will inspect all the fluids under the hood to make sure everything is running to standard. The whole department goes above and beyond what is expected to make sure that the work performed on the vehicle is quality. I have yet to have a bad experience at this dealership, and would recommend it to anyone in the southwest Florida area.

I was looking for a barely used midsize SUV and had been all over southwest FL but couldn't find anything I like and when I did I didn't trust the sales people at the dealers I went to. I was talking about my futile search with a friend at work and he asked me if I had been to the Ford dealer in Arcadia. He said his mom gets all her vehicles there and has for years. I figured what the heck and made the drive. The salesman I dealt with, Rob, made me feel welcome right away and showed me an 08 Ford Escape they had. We took it for a drive and I loved it. I was already sold on the Escape as my sister has one she raves about all the time. He and the sales manager put a really good deal together for me and two hours later I was on my home. It's been over a month now and I have absolutely no complaints with the vehicle or the deal I was given. When my wife is ready for a new car Desoto Ford will be my first stop!

Purchase of used vehicle

We purchased a car from Desoto Auto Mall, we asked them if the vehicle has been in an accident or any body work done. They confirmed us that everything was fine and the carfax report showed no accidents. It was raining on the day of purchase so it was difficult to confirm the information. They seemed honest people but were we wrong. We came home and dried of the car and saw body work done on the back of the car. It was repainted, you could still see the sanding lines etc.. We contacted the sales person and he lied again to us saying that they fixed little dings from a shopping car hitting the car. Well, I found another report online, the AutoCheck report which showed that the car was in an accident only 9 months ago in the rear. The car a consignment sale, the owner of the vehicle was a friend of the Desoto Automall owner. Let me tell you, the owner of the car dealer acted like we owned him for selling us the car for such a good price. They lie and think they get away with it. Be very careful if you purchase a used vehicle from them. Get a second report because Carfax is not as detailed than the AutoCheck report.
