Paul S. did a great job of walking my son through his options of buying his new car and very good to work with on the price and finaning.
Lie to get you in the door
I called the dealership to explicitly confirm they had the vehicle trim I was looking for in stock, and they assured me they had "several" and confirmed an appointment for a test drive. Turns out they had none. I was ready to buy: my Honda Odyssey lease is up in 2 weeks, and I was considering a Chrysler for the first time. Well, that's the last time.
EXCELLENT SALES and FINANCING!!!
Jim D went out of his way to find me the EXACT Jeep Renegade I wanted. I had already stopped at Autoland ... They were LESS than helpful. Jim, on the other hand, contacted me immediately, said he would FIND my dream car, and he did. Within about 3 days, he had my exact car and he was a dream to work with,. I never felt as if he was a "salesman" but rather a friend. When it came in, he took the time to give me a tour of the vehicle, which was excellent. NEXT...Gloria, the Finance Manager. Oh my goodness, it is the first time in my life (and I'm 56 years old) that someone took the time to answer ALL my questions. I didn't understand the warranty options the protection options, etc., and she answered all of my 50+ questions without rushing me. She, too, made me feel like such a valued customer. Salerno (Frank in Service) has always been good to me. I understand Frank is no longer there, but frankly (pun intended), he always offered the best service options for my Fords. Now that I have a Jeep, I'm hoping that Salerno continues with the good service. One thing about Salerno that I've liked (at least in the past...) is that they were "Jersey" high class professionals....they are NOT a "car salesman." I hope that this environment of making employees feel motivated and customers feel welcomed continues for a long time. Thanks to Jim and Gloria for putting me into my 2016 Jeep Renegade!! I recently decided to lease a Ford Escape and I couldn't be happier! The folks at Salerno Duane were very professional, knowledgable and helpful. We worked with Vito and had a great experience; he was honest and very professional and a nice guy. Made the car buying experience a painless one! Their first offer was very honest and we were really pleased. We will be back at the end of this year to get my husbands new car. Thanks Vito!
Touble shooting experts!
I've owned Fords my entire life. The team at Salerno Duane have proven to me to be the most knowledgeable, experienced and honest group of technicians I've dealt with. Once my issue was detected it was explaind to me in a manner I could understand. The estimate was on the money and the extensive work was completed within the time they promised. I also recieved info from the service department on how to avoid further problems and how to keep my family's vehicle running safely and efficiently. They earned a customer for life.
service department service
The experience I have when I bring my vehicle into Salerno Duane in Summit NJ. The service writer Frank is always professional, courteous and honest with me. The technicians are extremely competent and always on their "A" game especially Keith who always goes the extra mile for me.
Two week waiting period? No thank you.
While I rarely write negative reviews, I have made an exception in this case. My 2014 Jeep Cherokee (which I leased from Salerno in December of 2013) developed a transmission issue 8 months into my lease. I called the service department on a Monday morning at 7 am, hoping that they could look at and fix the Jeep, even if it might take a day or so. To my surprise, the representative told me that they couldn't take it for two weeks and that even if they took it in the next week, it likely would sit there. In addition, I was told that they had no loaner vehicles, either. When I asked what I was supposed to do (after all, you can't drive a car with a faulty transmission), she replied, "I don't know what to tell you." I told her that I would take it to another dealer for repair and, thankfully, was able to get it somewhere else that same day. (Another dealer told me it would be a week, while the third finally said they could take it that day.) I also called Chrysler to voice my displeasure and at least got an "I'm sorry" from their rep. I'm extremely disappointed in my experience with Salerno Duane's/Chrysler's/Mopar's service department, especially since I had decent service when I owned my Ford Edge and used their Ford service department. Two departments, two distinctly different experiences, that's for sure. One week is bad enough, but two weeks is extremely excessive to wait for any repair; I sympathize with those who wrote reviews here who were quoted an even longer time. To anyone at Salerno Duane Chrysler/Jeep: you seriously need to improve your service department or else risk losing more customers. In my case, I plan on taking my car to another dealer for servicing under my lease and then go elsewhere for all other repairs. This also will be the last vehicle I purchase from them, given the experience I had with their service department.
I went in looking for a new Jeep Cherokee while also desiring to trade in my Edge. The process went well, and Sergio - my salesman - guided me through each part step-by-step. It was a long day, but in the end, everything worked out very well.
Fast, fun, no pressure
I had the fortunate opportunity of dealing with Robert @ Salerno Duane. We test drove a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. We were in an out in 30 minutes. No pressure. Test drove a few other cars and even the Grand Cherokee again at a different dealership. Came back to Salerno. Why? Because Robert as that friendly and that good. Great customer service. Funny, friendly, and he gave us a great deal. Dealership is local to my area, and I liked dealing with local people. Not only are they great service, but I felt like I was supporting my areas businesses. A++++ to Salerno Jeep in Summit. You have a new repeat customer!
