onI made a fair deal on a new 2023 Camaro SS. I went to this dealer and not my usual dealer in Sterling. i was pleasantly surprised to see that I got two Free oil changes and free state inspections for life. For this reason, I will will continue here for life. No appointments just bring it in and there are saturday and sunday hours. I love it.

Used to be better service - but now ???

onThere was a long time to wait to get checked in. Seems like there were only two agents. One was spending a lot of time with the customer in front of me and the second one didn't show up until about 15 mins later. When the service was finished, I had to wait an additional 15-20 mins because the folks who performed the car wash, parked the car in the lot, even though the service rep knew I was waiting in the waiting room. After the 15 or so mins, the rep went searching for the car and had to bring it to me himself. When, I entered the car, there was a candy bar wrapper and a disgusting used tissue that the service folks had used and left them sitting in my back seat and front floor, respectively. Finally, even though I showed the agent a coupon worth $40 off the service I agreed to, it was not applied to the final bill. I spent 10 mins or so trying to get that corrected at checkout. Overall, the service is below par compared to when I bought the vehicle new from that dealership. Two out of the last three service experience have had issues. I will be looking at starting to have service elsewhere. Additionally, when we purchase a new vehicle, at the beginning of the year, Chevrolet (at least Pohanka) will not be on the top of the list.

Recall, inspection and a questionable assessment

onMy wife took my 2011 Tahoe in for new tires, 4 wheel alignment and a recall service item. The “lower ball joint is bad but we can fix it for $1200 and get you on the way.” All 4 control arms were replaced less than 2 years ago. I asked for the vehicle back and it passed inspection at an independent and trusted repair shop. Make of that what you will but I’ve maintained my own vehicles for over 30 years and kinda know a duck when I see one. The did however do the alignment which is peculiar since the ball joints were “bad”. The service person was nice enough and failed it as I asked them to do and returned the vehicle. The lack of information and detail about the issue leads me to believe that my wife was assessed as unaware of anything and someone that would feel compelled to spend money to get the car back. This isn’t the first time and I’m sure it won’t be the last that a service department looks at a person as an opportunity and not a paying client.

Calls ignored, sells cars with no title

onAfter roughly 15 years of buying many vehicles from both individuals, dealerships, even over the phone from other states, I have officially had the absolute worst car buying process of my life. I have been lied to, ignored, blown off, and treated like I have never been treated as a paying customer before. I purchased my a used commuter car from this dealership January 11th. Paid in full, in cash, immediately. I picked up the car the next day after waiting more than half the day for them to get it through detail. It seemed after they had my money it got forgotten about. No big deal, it happens. When I was in the process of buying, I was told the title was locked up in the back, and it would take roughly 5-10 business days for me to receive it in my name. I wait roughly 3 weeks before contacting my salesman Anug inquiring about it. He acted shocked that I had not gotten it and promised to get back to me. Days go by, I contact again. No reply. I finally find him face to face in my place of business to be told he has no answer. It is now over two months of still not receiving my title for the vehicle. Ive heard stories from them that they never had a title, stories of two titles from different states, stories of liens on both titles. At one point after going around to different managers the General store manager finally contacted me and still had no answers. I cannot urge anyone enough to steer clear of this dealership. They have gone through at least 3 general managers in a very short time, all sales staff has been rotated through. There is nobody there that will give you a solid answer or tell you the truth. I have started the process of going through the DMV legal services to take action in getting this resolved. Youve been warned, buy at your own risk from this very shady underhanded dealership.

Warranty service was not great...

onI brought my 2015 Tahoe in for warranty work. 2 of the 4 issues were corrected. I am shocked that the service department was 'unable to replicate' the other 2 issues because I was able to replicate them within 5 minutes of driving my car off of the lot. Unfortunately I was not able to take it back right away due to other commitments. Here are the 2 issues...which continue to this day. 1- steering wheel is making a popping noise when making sharp turns. It does not matter if the car is in 2WD, Auto or 4WD. I was told to keep it in 2WD and that should solve the problem. 2 - Display screen glitches multiple times during driving. No rhyme or reason. It is annoying and my whole family complains about it. This should NOT be happening on a high end SUV. I am disappointed that this problem is not being addressed. I was told by the dealer that the service dept was unable to replicate the problem and they drove it 23 miles. I find that next to impossible...I notice within the first few miles of a drive. I have a video now. Who should I send it to?

Great, no hassle sales experience

onThe sales staff were always approachable, and as I asked about status on my car they would always respond within a few hours at most. The financing group was also very up front on costs. Everything went incredibly smoothly and I'm confident I got the best price I could for my Volt, while also having an entirely enjoyable experience. The salesman really understood the Volt and how it works. I also really appreciated being able to see specifically how the cost of the car broke down for the dealership, with the discounts applied. Overall I would definitely go to Pohanka first as my Chevy dealer of choice. This was one of the best car buying experiences I've had.

onMy wife and I drove from Fredericksburg to Pohanka because she saw a 2015 Traverse she wanted to buy. When we arrived the sales rep that was helping us did a good job in showing us the vehicle. When we were ready to start talking about the price I told him that their competitor, just 30 minutes down the road, had the same exact vehicle for $2500 cheaper before we even negotiate the price. I even showed him the car on their competitors' website! I asked the sales rep to ask the manager would they just match the price. I stated if he would my wife and I would purchase the car from Pohanka. The manager, named Glen, REFUSED to match the price! We even told him that although we were going to have our credit union finance the car if they would match the price we would finance through Pohanka and he still REFUSED. He would not even come out to talk to us. He used the sales rep as a mediator. But the straw that broke the camels back was when he took a piece of scratch paper and hand wrote a note to me and my wife telling us that basically he was not going to work with us and to go to the Manassas Chevrolet dealer if we want to buy a car. I was in complete shock and I believe so were the sales reps trying to sell us the car. No one should be treated like this when you are trying to give a company money for a product. In fact, no one should be treated like this at all! The sales reps Ervin McDonald and Andrew Fowlkes were good to work with but I cannot recommend this company to anyone as long as you have to deal with the manager Glen. He is one of the most unprofessional people I have seen and should not be in that position. I do have to thank Glen though for sending us to Manassas Chevrolet to get a better deal on a 2015 Traverse!!

onI called before coming in around noon. The receptionist said no appointment needed, and it wasn't too busy. I pulled up into the service take-in area behind two other vehicles and was soon greeted by a service expediter. My oil change, tire rotation and courtesy wash were finished about 15 minutes sooner than estimated. Everyone was courteous and professional. Well done!

onThere was a recall on my new Chevy Colorado, so I took it to the service center at Pohanka. All of the staff that I dealt with were very friendly and professional. My one recommendation is that the service center waiting area have either a children's playroom, or a quiet room for adults.

onThe dealership was very friendly and helpful and not pushy. I felt very comfortable with them. Israel was great in helping me with the deal and Glen was awesome in the deal he put together. They showed me a vehicle that they could complete a deal on and I didn't like the vehicle. I left to go to another dealership and within 30 minutes they put together a deal with a much better vehicle at the same price. I was ready to buy at Ford (because they had a truck with better options than the first one that I was shown at Pohanka). Glen invited me to come back to Pohanka before making up my mind with Ford. While I was at the Ford dealership he started reading off the options for the vehicle that he could do the deal with and they were substantially better than the Ford. I returned to Pohanka and Glen and Issy put together the deal. A very easy and honest and low pressure deal.
