Be Prepared for Egregious Sales Conditions

onI recently purchased an AWD ID.4 Pro S from this dealership. They knew that I wanted to purchase an AWD Dusk Blue Pro S with Gradient Package and that I had one on order with VW and had been pre-approved by Navy Federal. I received a call on the morning of September 11th telling me that a vehicle matching my preferences had become available. When I arrived at the dealership, I was informed of two non-negotiable conditions of sale: there was a $3,000 "high demand vehicle" charge added to MSRP and in-house finance was required. I could either accept them as stated or wait 6 months or more for VW to fill my order. Were it not for the federal tax and EA charging incentives, I would have walked.

Awesome Buying experience, terrible sales manager

onWe found ourselves in need of an additional car sooner than we thought. After speaking asking around, we settled on this dealership. We were looking for a used SUV , low miles, clean last ownership and we found it here. Our salesman Fred was amazing! He took the time to find out what my family’s needs were , cared about my budget and did everything he could to make my experience pleasant. It was around the end of May when we purchased our Volvo XC60 from the dealer. Free and I took the car on a test drive everything seemed fine. I’ll be honest and say I didn’t notice the air conditioning system. It must have been one of the 15minutes it was actually working. We put a good chunk of change down for the car that night, packed the car seat in it and drove home. It wasn’t until about two weeks later that I noticed the air was going in and out . Not only was it going in and out , once the cool air was out, the dang vents would blow hot. We made the drive from Woodbridge to Alexandria only to show up to the dealership to be treated like we had stolen something. Instead of being helpful, the sales manager (shorter gentleman with dark brown hair) immediately started deflecting blame onto us. “Why didn’t you bring it back the next day, we couldn’t have possibly known the air wasn’t working, didn’t you take a test drive” in just the most demeaning tone. The guy axted like it was such a chore for him to find an empty computer to pop in the USB THEY gave us, to check the warranty. it was hot as heck outside all it would have taken was for him to ask me To crank the car and sit there for 1 minute to sort out the matter. Did he do that? nope, instead he tells me what they won’t do and that it’s all up To my warranty and to schedule a service. We do that, despite his rudeness thank him and go on home. The next week they run a full evacuation and recharge on the AC SYSTEM. Doesn’t work I called back, Joe in service says he’s going to get the same terrible sales manager to take care of it and they’ll be calling me back. It’s july and not one single call. My 10 month old can’t sit in the back of hot car all summer! But they got their money so who cares right? If you are buying a new car from them , use Fred he’s awesome . DO NOT BUY USED FROM HERE. I’d even venture on to say don’t shop here at all, but Fred is awesome so that’s the only thing that would bring me back to this place.

AMAZING

onMy boyfriend and I went into this VW after already deciding that the Tiguan was right for us. We were placed with Gary Campbell and we could not have been happier. He walked us through the different models, made us feel very comfortable, and was incredibly easy to talk to. We decided on the model and then went through the different options of financing vs. leasing. He was very respectful of giving us our space to talk privately and discuss different options. He even gave us the key to go sit in the model/car we wanted to talk and check everything out. We noticed a mistake on the quote they gave us, and they righted it immediately and gave us a better deal as an apology. We were still undecided, so the manager came over to talk to us and asked what was stopping us from signing right that very minuted. We said we were trying to work out our budget and see if we could do it. He gave us our different options and even took off more money from the final price to get it even closer to our goal price. We agreed on a price, signed the paperwork, met with the finance department, and walked out with a new car in less than an hour after making the final decision. Gary even gave us a tutorial on everything we needed to know about in the car. I have had very bad experiences with dealerships before and I can say with confidence, Gary and the Wes Greenway staff were incredible. We will be back for our future car purchases and will be requesting to work with Gary again!

Disingenuous, arrogant, and rude

onDo not go here for a used car! First of all, they dramatically overprice their used cars and *don't negotiate* -- which is of course nearly unheard of for a normal dealership. Moreover, they're disingenuous, arrogant, and rude. We saw a certified pre-owned car with a KBB value around $16K that was listed at $19K -- but that list price didn't include a "certification fee" of about $800 as well as another dealership processing fee of another $800, plus taxes and other fees that brought the total price well over $22K. They were selling *new* cars of this same model totaling in the $23K range, and with a straight face wanted to sell a post-lease car that was over 3 years old, had scratches and plenty of miles and all, for just about $1K under that -- no negotiation allowed. We were shocked at their no-negotiation policy and I said they should post it on their website, but the rude salesman we spoke with (named Dean) replied haughtily, "I tell those who ask." He was also spewing out BS like "Kelley Blue Book is worthless because you can't buy a car from them," which is like saying that Yelp reviews are worthless because you can't buy things from Yelp. This place not only wasted our time demanding outrageous prices with tons of hidden fees, but treated us with such arrogance and disrespect that we left with a seriously bad taste in our mouths. No need to give this place your money!

An unexpectedly amazing experience

onMy husband and I rolled into Alexandria VW to look for a car to replace our recently totaled VW Jetta. We'd done some internet research and the car here was on the bottom of the list we'd compiled from cars all over the DMV, so we decided to start here and work our way up our list. We were looking for something "gently" used (low miles in good condition) and the Passat we'd found fit the bill, but was on the older side (2014). The car was in great condition, but was in the process of being sold when we arrived. Dean Reyes, the salesman who assisted us, was able to show us a complete line-up of used Passat's as well as other makes and models that were on our list. Dean was very patient with us, provided thoughtful and complete answers to our myriad of questions, showed us exactly what we asked for, and never EVER pressured us into something we didn't want or need. We found the exact car we hoped to find and LOVE it!!! Even the financing portion of the afternoon was easy and relatively painless. Ene, the financing manager, was thorough and went the extra mile to find the best option for us. Even calling us AFTER we'd completed the process and left the dealer telling us she'd found a better financing option... Something she certainly didn't have to do!!! Drew the sales manager checked on us as well to make sure everything was going well and we had everything we needed. We've purchased luxury vehicles in the past and I'd say that not only did purchasing from Alexandria VW rival the experience you receive at a luxury dealer, but it even exceeded it! Not only will I return there for my next car purchase, but I would highly recommend that my friends and family go there as well! You will NOT be disappointed!

onThe owner of this dealer is definitely not focused on customer service or a relationship with customers. When the team makes a mistake they are not willing to fix it to harres you and threaten you for bringing it up. It's amazing they are still in business considering the fact how they conduct business. We were consistently lied to on numerous issues through the process. When we asked to have the issues corrected we were told that we will be charged with trespassing if we come back here physically and we should not call them and ask them to correct any mistakes they made. The owner personally send me an e-mail to tell me that I'm a bully for not giving them 5 stars instead of trying to correct or appolagize for any mistakes his team has made.

Wonderful Experience with Arjay

onLast week I leased an amazing 2017 Jetta from the best salesperson I have ever had at a dealership. Arjay Lancaster is charming, knowledgeable, personable and reassuring. I spent hours trying to figure out what was best for me in my situation and my negative equity in my previous vehicle. I love this car! Without Arjay I honestly wouldn't have know what to do or which option was best for me in my situation. He was patient and funny; especially since I was nervous about whether or not I would get the deal. He literally made the experience memorable and fun. I will never forget leasing this car; ever. He is a gem.
