Camaro guy

by Sledgehammer on 08/10/2023

Always wanted a Camaro SS since the first models were designed in the 1967. For one reason or another I couldn't justify a purchase just for myself but now that I'm retired it became a bucket list item. I wanted a specific custom factory order since this was going to be my personal performance car. This car was a want not a need. I am not a billionaire. After shopping 10 different dealerships where I live in Connecticut for over a year, watching the inventory online, and calling dealers in the northeastern part of the country I became extremely discouraged. I was quoted prices with additional dealer markups. I was urged to place a deposit and get on a dealer's unrealistic waiting list. Dealers that had allocations wanted buyers who could option the car to the max for max profit. I almost gave up my dream. In 2008, I had purchased a new Silverado from Paul Masse Chevrolet and was extremely satisfied. I grew up in Rhode Island. On a nice day in May I decided to do a road trip to South County and was intrigued by Paul Masse's Chevrolet vintage dealership style stone building in old Wakefield. I appreciated that I wasn't immediately attacked by vultures looking to make a killing as I examined a sold blue Camaro on the showroom floor. There was no greeter at the front door shuffling me to the next available sales hawk like in the megastockexchange dealerships. Within a reasonable amount of time, Brandon introduced himself and I learned he was as passionate about Camaros and Corvettes as I am. Naturally with all the negative experience I had prior I was skeptical about Paul Masse's one price for all but we had an agreement signed deposit and all in less than 30 minutes. Brandon kept me informed every step of the build and was a true advisor. He is your go to guy for Camaros and Corvettes. When Cameron took over the financial aspect he guided me through it and made it effortless despite being away in Ohio on a personal matter. This is the best damn Chevrolet operation in the country. Hope the service department is the same.

I would never go to them again.....terrible experience

by jennyo1 on 12/21/2010

We bought a truck from them several months ago. Buying the truck, after putting down $12,000, was like pulling teeth. Phone calls and emails were left unanswered. When we went in there they kept telling us they needed more info instead of just getting everything right from the get go. 2 months and $14,000 they still have not registered the vehicle! They have been sitting on that tax and registration check for weeks now and as of today we now will incur a penalty because of their failure to do their job and refusal to answer emails. My guess is they refuse to email back so they do not leave a paper trail. But we have everything documented and are definitely reporting them to the Better Business Bureau! It's ridiculous. Do not go there!!!

Good Experience at Masse

by andya3 on 08/01/2010

My wife and I bought Equinox 2010 - I have to say it was a great experience. The sales person was very nice and was able to answer all our questions. The deal was no pressure and we got a good price for the car. In the end we got a good trade and the car we wanted at the price we wanted with some additional features too! Highly recommended. The place felt to me like a small town dealership where they card about the the customer and you were not only buying a good car but helping the local economy as well. Sometimes you go to a dealership and there are these guys just hanging on you and you feel uncomfortable. This place was not like that - we had time to look around the lot and then went in to speak to someone who had introduced themselves earlier.
