Very Disappointed

Just came in for a simple chassis lubrication. The lube tech who was working on my truck couldn't get grease in half the fittings. At first, they were still going to charge me the full price, but after expressing my concern they didn't charge me. So I was happy with that, and that's the only reason I'm selecting yes for the box that asked if I thought the price was fair. But I have no idea what's happening to Ford lately. They really need to step up their game with their service. Seems like every time I go in there, it's something they either can't do or won't do. I find that hard to believe because they're the ones that built the truck. Anyway, I'm not even sure I would want them to do an oil change as of right now.

Oil change

First experience at Oxmoor Ford for service and it was a great one. Ross was my service member who assisted me. He took my info and confirmed what was to be done with my truck. He told me the time in which the service would be done and showed me the waiting lobby, which had nice accommodations of spacious room, comfortable seating, and coffee. Midway through, Ross stopped by to check in with an update on the progress. My truck was completed in the time frame that Ross said it would be done. Very impressed with the professionalism and how well organized Oxmoor Ford runs their business.

Service Visit

I recently took my truck in for routine service (oil change and tire rotation), getting some scratches fixed on the front tow hooks, and to inquire about a letter I got from Ford regarding a recall for the tailgate assist handle. Overall, I had a very mixed experience and am unsure I will return. I feel if you just need an oil change or routine maintenance they’re probably great, but if you need anything else I’m not confident in their willingness or ability to help. When dropping my car off I let the service advisor know the purpose of my visit and asked about getting the tow hooks fixed (they were damaged when I bought the vehicle new) and the “recall” work for the tailgate assist handle. For the tow hooks he advised me I would have to take it to a different location because they ‘don’t have a body shop here, actually we have a body shop, but not for that’. It would literally be a tiny bit of paint-maybe the job is too small for them? Next I asked about the recall and he advised it could be days to get it fixed. I said no I want my truck back today I’m just trying to figure out a plan to get it fixed in the future. Then he said I should call the ‘call center’ to schedule that. I said I’m here now “can’t I just go talk to someone.” He said no calling is better. Knowing what a fun experience it is to call someone vs. talking to them face to face I said ‘that doesn’t make any sense, I would rather just go talk to someone, since I’m here anyways’. Keep in mind the call center is about 20’ from where we were standing. He said ‘no you can’t go in there, I can’t even go in there’. Not sure what is so secret about the call center? Doubt they are handling classified information, but who knows. I said how about you check on the part availability and schedule an appointment for me to come back? He said ‘well I can, but my system isn’t the best, the call center’s system is way better’. At this point I got the feeling the service advisor just didn’t want to deal with anything other than routine maintenance which is unfortunate. When I picked the vehicle up there was no follow up about part availability or a future appointment to get the recall work done and I didn’t even ask as I’m unsure I will go back to that dealership. I have never had this type of experience before at a dealer service department. In my opinion the biggest reason to take your vehicle to a manufacturers brand service center is they have brand experts that can handle any issues. I didn’t get this feeling at all from Oxmoor Ford. The unwillingness to help was very disappointing. There’s a big difference between not being able to do something (which happens) and being unwilling even try to help. As it was my first (and possibly last) visit to Oxmoor Ford’s service department I’m not sure if it was a bad day, an inexperienced of too busy advisor, limited service department, or combination of multiple factors, but it was the most disappointing experience I’ve had a dealer service department.

Service for My Lincoln at Oxmoor Ford

I had the opportunity to ask some questions about the car of my Lincoln and received prompt, courteous replies. Truly, a very pleasant experience. I was even able to do some school work (I am a teacher) while I waited.
