Great Car Buying Experience

onI had a great experience with buying my 2016 4-Runner! My sales associate, Dalton Miller, was more than fantastic. I had a lot of questions and he was great at taking calls and texting me based on my availability--that made the process much easier. Also, he advocated to get me a great rate as well as the vehicle I wanted for my strict budget! He made this car buying experience fun, easy, and enjoyable. ---I wasn't aware that was actually possible when buying a vehicle! Thanks Dalton!

dismal experience

onI purchased a used pick up on 10/31/2014, the salesman said he had driven it and it rode and looked fine except for a "cracked grille". I live in Northern Wisconsin and it was delivered on 11/11/2014 at 11:30PM during a snowstorm. When we went to pick it up we had to roll it off the trailer because it wouldn't start and then I had to go back home and get jumper cables to jump start it. On the way home (one mile) it was found that the speedometer didn't work, the turn signals didn't work properly, the heater blower didn't work, the heater didn't work, the check engine light was on and the red air bag light was on. The next morning when it was light out I saw that the "cracked grille" the salesman said it had was actually a badly broken grille that was held on by two plastic ties and two small bolts. There was also crumpled up metal around the headlight from an accident that hadn't been disclosed to me. There was also a ball of wires hanging down near the back bumper and some of those have bare ends. I talked to the previous owner and she said that the speedometer didn't work when they traded it in and that they had hit a deer causing the grille and fender damage. In addition the CarFax stated that the oil had been changed on 8/14/2014 at the exact mileage that is on the odometer now. The oil is very dark and slightly degraded, this shows either the oil wasn't changed or there were miles put on it without the odometer working which would have been caused by the speedometer not working. The dealership sent me a letter saying that everything worked fine when it left there so by their logic everything went bad on the ride up here on the trailer :). They said I should have hired somebody to come and look at the truck knowing full well any inspector or any other buyer would not buy this truck at the "excellent condition" price they had on it. I talked to the sales manager and he said when used vehicles came in they went into the shop for evaluation and tickets were issued for the problems. He said when the problems were cleared up the vehicle was put on the lot. This vehicle obviously missed that process. I bought from a dealer because they are held to standards which include the fact they must disclose all obvious defects. They are not protected from this obligation by an "as is" statement. I have complained to every agency I can think of with no satisfaction. I am now waiting for a reply to my complaints to the FBI and FTC about interstate wire fraud. If nothing happens with them I will take these guys to court.

onThis dealership was very helpful in helping make a decision on buying my Toyota Prius. The salesman spent a lot of time with me. They help me decide which vehicle was most practical for my needs. Also loan department very friendly and helpful and got me a good rate for a used vehicle. I ended up buying a 2011 Toyota Pre Certified vehicle with about 16,000 miles. Part of the sale, the door gasket and a damaged hubcap needed replaced. An appointment was schedule by the salesman and I get these items repaired this Saturday 8/2/2014. Glad this dealership offers Saturday service hours. I rate the dealership as being a 5 Star dealership. Best car buying experience I ever had. Kudos to salesman Dave F for putting up with me and all my questions :)

Don't Trust "Inspection" Process

onPurchased a used 2009 Camry Hybrid on April 9th in 40 degree weather. On April 11th found out the AC didn't work when temps got to the 70's. Sales person Brian S (Initials B.S. should have been a clue) told me he would check into what the dealership was willing to do. No responses from him, so I drove 90 minutes back to the dealership on April 18th to have their service department check what was wrong. They couldn't get me in until the following week. Drove back April 23rd to be told there was a cracked condenser and other issues totaling $1350 in repair costs. Was shown 3 Month/3000 mile paperwork only covers drive train and few components. I questioned how they could miss AC not working, I was told, "we don't do as thorough an inspection on 3 month/3000 mile warranty AS IS vehicles because we might find too many things wrong." Salesperson "BS" said it worked the night of your test drive. He is right, the light came on and it "appeared" to be working in the 40 degree weather. No negotiation on repair cost. I chose to get the repair at another dealership. I refuse to allow these deceptive people to PROFIT from their mistake. Very disappointing transaction at a dealership who could have chosen to do the right thing. Service Manager Mitch S tried to help. He was told NO to any adjustment to the repair estimate. It seems the management at this location is more worried about today's profit then loyal repeat customers. Finance person tried to sell EVERY possible upgrade possible during paperwork phase of the transaction. He also failed to call Capital One Auto Finance as directed by me (and printed on the check) to activate the blank check we presented. Lucky for everyone the check cleared with no issue, but did prompt a call to us from Capital One to verify we did indeed purchase a car. BEWARE - you aren't a customer at Rohrman - you are $$$$$.
