Happy Kia Customer

Salesperson was quick to greet us and make us feel welcome. We found the Soul right away that my wife wanted and were doing the paperwork quickly. I never knew how nice a car dealership could be until we found one that fit us.

Pushiest salespeople, high prices

We went in to look at used crossovers, and had a preapproval ready to go. The first salesman was nice enough and showed us a few vehicles in our price range. We didn't love any of the cars and suggested leaving our number so they could call us when they got in new inventory. Several times, the salesperson would ask us to wait a minute while he grabbed a business card only to return 10 minutes later to show us a "new and affordable vehicle" that several thousand dollars above our price range. Finally, we said we were leaving and our budget was not flexible. As we were walking out, the manager stopped us and said he had a new Forester in that hadn't been priced yet, and he could ensure it was in our price range. While he had a staff member assess our trade-in value, we decided to look at the car and really liked it. The manager asked us to wait while he "ran some numbers," and after ANOTHER half an hour, he came back with a price exactly the same as the earlier vehicles we couldn't afford, which was a full $1500 over the suggested retail price on KBB. We pointed this out and another manager got involved, who kept insisting that we wait longer while she got the price down. She came back explaining that she was adding the reconditioning costs for the vehicle, which was why it was so expensive. We said we wouldn't pay for maintenance costs and our budget was firm. Their solution? Extending the loan so the monthly payments dropped but the price remained grossly inflated. They also kept pressuring us to fill out a credit check form, even though we were already preapproved with a lender they work with. We got a 2.99% interest rate, but they kept saying "we are the bank. We can do better." We didn't want our credit dinged for another credit check and kept saying "no," but they wouldn't leave it alone. We finally escaped after three hours of being told to "wait." They even offered to get us lunch so that we wouldn't leave the lobby and they could keep running numbers, even though it was obvious that they didn't have what we wanted and weren't willing to drop their prices enough to make a deal. It was one of the highest pressure sales environments ever. The sales people are super aggressive, use every tactic in the book, and actually physically surrounded us to convince us to stay at several points.

About what I expected

Came within $500 of my OTD price and cut the deal. Did not have the exact model series I wanted but salesman reviewed the delta between the series and came close to meeting my total price. Not the same experience in dealing with internet managers at other dealers where price is negotiated without need for managers approval.

Do not trust!

Dealer is very shady. Went in to buy a car, pre-approval in hand but they didnt have what I wanted in stock. They did mention one should be there any day and that I can put a deposit down and its all mine. I was lucky enough to have my car there and I recieved a fair trade in for the vehicle. We agreed on a selling price, trade in amount and I put $1K down. I came in to pick up the vehicle when it arrived, and they raised the price by 2,000 when i sat down to sign the paperwork. If they want to overprice their vehicles, fine. Dont offer a price, take a deposit and then raise it when the customer comes to pick up the car.

Pushy Sales poor price!

hello, I went in to see a ADERTISED CAR! Got the idea that they really did not want to sell the car for their add price . they had a lot of hidden charges and wanted to not even go by nada guide or even msrp list for the car.. after hidden charges it was priced more than other dealers had it listed for !WHY buy from them ! they have nothing to offer more than other CAR DEALERS DO ! @ PRICE
