Excellent Dealership

My husband and I were shopping for a new Volvo in Charlotte NC. We located the vehicle we wanted at Beach Automotive in Myrtle Beach. The salesperson was very professional and their price was much lower than our local dealer and they gave us more for our trade in. We ended up buying the Volvo and a Mazda for our daughter and stayed for the weekend while we were there. We had a great experience and turned it into a weekend vacation.

After working amiably with the Beach Volvo salesman for two days in person, via phone and email (I even took the car to my mechanic for inspection), reaching an agreed purchase price and loan arrangement...I called the salesman and confirmed that I was purchasing the car. It was nearly 5pm on Fri afternoon so I asked what their Sat hours were. The salesman said that he would not be working on Sat; I didn't want him to lose the commission so I said I would come pick the car up on Mon. He said the car might sell over the weekend; we both laughed and then he said I should give him my credit card number to "seal the deal". Had there been any indication that I needed to come to the dealership before Mon I would have been there. Had there been any indication that I needed to email or fax a confirmation, I would have done this. You guessed it! They sold it out from under me for more money!! If this is not illegal it is certainly disreputable.

We shopped at 4 different Ford dealerships in the Myrtle Beach area and got the best deal at Beach Ford. The sales process was low pressure and easy. Staff was courteous and respectful, all others treated me as a woman that could not purchase without her husband.
