First Time Car Buying Made Easy!

by Brielle on 02/28/2020

This was my first time buying a car on my own. The first dealership I went to, I did not feel comfortable with buying from them at all. When I found First Team and met Tommy, I instantly felt welcomed like family. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone. I would DEFINITELY recommend buying a car from Tommy. He is highly professional, personable, and tells you all the ins and outs of the vehicle (the good and bad). Their customer service beyond me purchasing the car has been exceptional as well. Best of all, I love my car!! Thanks First Team!

Amazing customer service

by Gelisa on 02/08/2020

Purchasing my car was such a smooth and stress free transition. Marcie Wall took such great care of me. I couldn’t ask for a better sales agent. She took care of me as if I was her daughter and made me feel secure with the large purchase I made, along with helpful advise with purchasing a new car

Thank you Ryan Danos

by Michelle on 01/03/2020

I have been a loyal costumer to Toyota for over 20+ years now. I'm on my 3rd Toyota and wouldn't own any other brand. I highly recommend them for their reliability. I just recently traded in and bought a new Toyota RAV4! My first SUV and I love it! My sales rep - Ryan Danos was extremely helpful during the entire process. He was easy to talk to and communicated very well with me from beginning to end of my purchase. I highly recommend him if you are looking to buy. All First Team employees ( Sales Managers, Business Managers and Front Desk Receptionist) at the Chesapeake location were great to work with! Thank you so much! Thanks, Michelle

Above and Beyond

by Andrew_K on 01/02/2020

Great Dealership with a focus on providing great customer service. They went above and beyond, not just before and during the deal but also after when some hiccups arose from my trade. Justin, Scott and the Finance Managers were all extremely helpful. I always recommend this dealer to friends who are looking at buying cars.

My first new car

by RAV4_Owner on 11/20/2019

My sales rep Dwight was extremely knowledgeable on the RAV4 (the car I ended up buying). I felt like he actually cared about what I wanted in an vehicle more than simply making a sell to a customer. I was nervous about buying my first new car but Dwight and his team at first team Toyota really helped guide me through everything with ease.

It’s a Wonderful Life

by Kelley-Wiggins on 05/30/2019

My husband and I bought a new rav4 from First Team Toyota on 5/29/19. Our experience was utterly fantastic. From start to finish. Mr. Clarence Johnson assisted us and truly worked his magic to get us what we wanted; while staying in our budget. He was truly the best part of the whole experience. The customer service he provided us is quite rare these days so it was refreshing to have the opportunity to work with him. Words can not fully express this wonderful experience. Again, Thank you Mr. Johnson and First Team Toyota for everything!!!

First Team Toyota is pushy and plays head games

by Concerned47 on 01/04/2013

Avoid Chris in the sales department. He is pushy, deceptive, and only wants to sell what is on the lot vice what you want. I ended up buying elsewhere and making a BBB complaint because Chris contacted my home after I told him to never contact me or my family. This is nonsense and buyer should be aware.

Pleasure to Deal WIth

by danmay14 on 11/12/2010

Ron Jones was a pleasure to deal with. For the first time, my purchase experience was not the traditional/often thought of car buying experience. For example no back and forth with sales managers over the bottom line. Mr. Jones honored what I said on my initial bottom line and there we met. Fair deal to all.

Money matters, you don't

by rwgp on 09/04/2008

I bought a vehicle from this First Team dealership. They were quick to push a used car sell as a good deal and the dealership even made it clear that they did the state inspection themselves. It turned out they gave it to me with a huge gas tank leak. I thought I smelled some gas a day or two afterwards but was not sure if it was my vehicle or just the city. I found out when I filled the gas tank up completely the first time. Then I could smell the gas and saw it dripping from the top of the tank. I contacted them and they told me that because I bought the vehicle as-is I have to fix it myself. Regardless of the safety issue I have to drive it around a bit longer before getting it fixed. You can buy a new car anywhere but I recommend that you buy elsewhere and dont trust them on a used vehicle. They have no shame. I found out later that they are known to have a shady reputation. Go where they have a good reputation. DONT BUY FROM HERE! Most dealerships will match or price beat these days anyway. They should be called First Tag Team Toyota Dodge on how they tag you for your money. Without giving up the name of the salesman I can only say that he was fat.

Leaves you with that uneasy "did I get ripped off?" feeling.

by dokein on 08/21/2008

First Team didn't have the truck I was interested in in the configuration I was looking for, but unlike most local dealers they claimed they could get me one from another location, and they gave me an initial quote over email before I came to the dealership. I settled for test-driving a the model with the desired engine but a different cab. During the test drive I asked about a specific feature (aux stereo input) and was assured by the salesman it was standard. After the purchase, I discovered it wasn't even an available option. The were willing to negotiate to a bit lower than the initial quote, but unwilling to guarantee a price without a handshake agreement to buy, implicitly pressuring me to make an on-the-spot decision without even seeing the true price with all taxes and fees. Lacking other promising leads and on a tight timetable to replace my vehicle, I reluctantly agreed to buy a truck I hadn't even seen or driven and started signing papers. Obtaining dealer financing was fairly straightforward, and they actually offered competitive rates. At signing I was told the day they could have the vehicle ready for me to pick up. All morning I waited their call telling me when it would be ready. At lunch, I called them and was told their driver was "just about to leave" for the other dealership 100 miles away, and they would let me know when it was there, washed and ready to pick up. By evening I had still heard nothing, and checked the dealership's hours on their web site. I called an hour before the posted closing time, and got repeated busy signals. I checked my various papers and found I really had no legal recourse if the vehicle was not delivered when promised. So I drove to the dealership and asked for my car and why they never contacted me. They blamed the communication problems on a medical emergency with a co-worker and explained that their web site had the wrong hours and they were still open, and of course "just about to call me". They stalled while they finished getting the car ready, and gave me a coupon for a free oil change by was of apology for the confusing. The dealer never explained why they took 8 hours to make a 200 mile trip to get the vehicle, but the window sticker and the odometer indicated the car came from twice as far away as they claimed. Driving home, I discovered the missing feature I was verbally assured was included. When I informed the salesman the next day, he assured me he would "see what he could do" to make sure I was satisfied and get back to me. I never heard back from him, but while I waiting I removed the dealership's license plate frames and scraped their logo off the tailgate. I decided to buy the $50 aftermarket adapter kit to add the feature myself. Based on this experience, I can't recommend buying from this dealer for anything other trying to get a no-obligation quote to use as leverage against some other dealer that knows how to treat their customers a little better. There were several points in the process would have gladly walked away if I could have found another dealer with the vehicle on the lot, or willing to get it in short order for a competitive price.
