Buyer Beware

by Alan Brandt on 11/12/2022

They blew up the radio/Navagation system in my 2018 Subaru Outback Touring Edition. Then replaced it with the wrong radio. I went over there to complain because the radio squeaks in the dash. They asked me to leave so I left and a half hour after I got home the Lake county sheriff Deputy shows up at my door asking me what was wrong. I told them about Adventure Subaru blowing up my Radio/Navagation system. I turned this place in the Better Business Bureau and Subaru of Ameica.

Sales Staff are Told to Be Dishonest

by rev1ewer on 03/07/2016

The car buying experience was hassle free, but post purchase, the sales staff was deliberately dishonest. Property I accidentally left within the trade-in was destroyed even after I made specific mention to forward to my home address. After I was informed of the disposition, there was a promise from the sales staff to provide financial reimbursement. Only to find out after a month of waiting for the reimbursement check, management told them to lie to me and not provide reimbursement. If they are dishonest with something this small and especially post purchase, what else are they lying about to save a few bucks...Will never buy a car from this dealership again and will deter any family or friends from buying from this dealership.

Good Dealership for service and repairs.

by Mentormom on 07/26/2015

I took my Legacy in a few weeks ago because of a strange clanging noise in the front wheels. I was taken care of promptly by the service advisor, Cory. I was told that I was just over my warranty mileage so there may be a charge which I agreed to. After about a half hour of waiting, the director of the service department Ian came out to give me the repair update on my car. He told me that the horrific noise was nothing more than a lug nut had come loose and was caught inside the wheel. Not only did they replace the lug nut, but they even washed my car for me. ALL AT NO CHARGE!! I was thanked by both Cory and Ian for bringing my car in and even given Ian's business card if I needed anything in the future. I will be bringing my Legacy there for everything now. (No more loose lug nuts at MIDAS for me.)

Pleasant and relaxed experience

by GoodObserver on 04/23/2015

Just bought a used 2010 Kia from Adventure Subaru after getting info from edmunds.com and reading the reviews here. We negotiated price and tradein and I never felt boxed in or pressured to buy or anything like that. They did hit me with a 250 "documentation fee" that was on top of the negotiated price, but they had agreed to a relatively low price from my target going in, so I didn't raise it as an issue. Perhaps knowing about it now, I might have talked about it to them. I would go there again.

WORST DEALER EXPERIENCE EVER! DON'T BUY HERE!

by carbuyer268 on 03/01/2015

Never in my 49 years on this planet have I been treated in such a manner like this. When we asked about matching a deal from another Subaru dealer, the salesperson had the sales manager come buy with usual car dealer tactics. He said and I quote "we can do it, but we won't"!...Wow! Also, he had the audacity to bad mouth his competition...Worry about your own issues!!! I was stunned!...and not to mention how my 82 year old father was greeted and yelled at because he parked in a used car spot and forced to move, almost got stuck in snow since they made him so nervous... MAKE SURE TO READ THE REVIEWS AND YOU WILL AVOID THESE GUYS AT ALL COSTS...TRUST ME! Subaru should be ashamed to have these guys represent their brand! Too bad for the Painesville community.

My Experience

by anitamarie1 on 01/18/2015

My husband and I couldn't have asked for a better experience at Adventure Subaru. I was already sold on the value and fun of driving Subarus. However, due to some job changes etc... we were still building our credit. I needed a new car ASAP as my previous Subaru, after 200,000 miles need some work that I wasn't sure I wanted to spend additional money on. Mike and Eugene not only found me a car that had very low miles and features I was looking for, but went above and beyond to work a deal that took into account my budget as well as my preferences. They spent hours with us on New Years Eve day finishing even after the store was closed. You can rest assure when I need to purchase another car I will head right back to Adventure Subaru and ask for the same people!

Completely Unprofessional

by JustBHonest on 09/16/2013

Found this dealership online with what looked to be good prices. I spoke with their Internet sales manager, Brian, and we emailed back and forth about a couple of cars we were looking to purchase for my wife and daughter. We had the makings of a deal, and I decided to make the nearly 5 hour drive and close things out. Brian told me he would not be there on that Sunday, but asked me to mention that I had worked with him. After making the 5 hour drive, I met a man named Craig, and mentioned that I had spoken to Brian previously. Craig spent some considerable time complaining about how Brian refused to work Sundays, and how it put a strain on the rest of the sales members. He complained of not being able to watch Browns football games, and even stated that his manager had told him not even to text Brian, as he was considering firing him. After this bit of unprofessional behavior, things got even more unpleasant, as I found out the deal Brian and I had discussed, had somehow gone out the door. Craig expected me to pay nearly $1,000 more than I went there thinking I was paying. When I questioned this, he and another sales person on duty claimed there was no wiggle room at all with the deal they were offering. Craig even made the laughable claim that they were already losing $1,500 by selling the car for the listed price. Really, am I supposed to believe that they put their cars on their lot at that big of a loss and stay in business? Ridiculous! I have been buying and selling cars for a lot of years, and I have to say this is the most unpleasant experience I have ever had with a dealership. I very, very strongly recommend you buy your car elsewhere.
