Slow and disorganized

Had an appointment at 9:30 to replace tires. Said I’d be waiting in the lobby getting some work done. They didn’t even start until 12:30 the paperwork literally had written across the top to do at 12:30 and didn’t leave until 1:30. What’s the point of making an appointment then????? So ridiculous. Can’t keep staff at the service desks either, no one ever answers the phone you have to go in to get schedule. And always seem to find some major fix that’s needed on one inspection then it passes with flying colors on the same item the following inspection without having fixed the supposed “problem”. Inventing issues perhaps to drum up business? Makes you wonder… Worst customer service ever.

Great experience in buying a new car at Phil long Subaru.

Overall, I had a very very good experience in buying a new Subaru Outback at Phil Long Subaru in Glenwood Springs. The sales person, Stephanie, was awesome to deal with. No pressure. She explained all the options to me in detail, and then I made a decision and we moved on.

One of the worst customer satisfaction experiences I've ever had.

This is one of the worst customer satisfaction experiences I've ever had.  I had my key re-programed and it did it no longer worked with in a month.  They never told me that when reprograming the chip in the key instead of replacing it could cause it to last less than a month.  I spoke to the General Manager Carol and he was unwilling to offer any kind of solution other than me paying for me to have the key fixed at my expense again.  I feel he was condescending.   People should seriously consider using company, a car dealership or any other business that is not willing to stand behind their service and has zero concern about customer satisfaction.

Great car buying experience

I recently purchased a new but used subaru from this dealership. I have had horrible experiences before at dealerships on the front range, but this time was thankfully different. Jimmy Mellin (salesman) and Chris (sales manager) listened to what I was looking for and wanted, set me up in a great car, and gave me a great offer. They didn't pressure me into getting something that I didn't want, but also gave me some other options after listening to what I was looking for. I am very happy with my vehicle do far, and they biying experience was enjoyable!

Friendly, Competent, Reliable

My buying experience with Glenwood Springs Subaru from start to finish was terrific. I have bought cars from several dealers in several states and I give the folks at the Glenwood Springs Subaru the highest rating of the bunch! The sales person, Hilary Stumpus, and the sales manager, Chris Good were friendly, competent and reliable. The negotiation process was easy and straightforward. Together, we found fair value quotes for the car I wanted on Kelly Blue Book, Edmunds and NADA from which we quickly settled on a sales price. The vehicle was presented to us clean, full of gas and ready to go. A truly unique and pleasant place to buy a car!

Don't waste your time

I have never written a review like this but my experience with Glenwood Springs Subaru was so Godawful that I felt the need to do something as little as it may be. I wish I could give them negative stars frankly.  I purchased what I now believe is a car with a cracked frame.  If the damage happened while I owned this vehicle, I can only conclude that Subarus are total garbage, as it has never been in an accident, and I do not off-road, or tow anything.  The first indicator was after I purchased a set of snow tires for the winter and the set of tires that came new on the vehicle were considered completely unusable.  The alignment was completely off and destroyed my tires that I planned on using again in the summer.  I took the vehicle to Glenwood Spring Subaru for scheduled maintenance the following summer and asked them to also do an alignment as I was concerned about the obvious wear on my tires.  The car was in the shop for maybe 45 minutes when they gave it back and sent us on our way.  They did not mention that the rear tires were almost down to the wear bar after only being on the vehicle for two months.  I consider this negligence. I found this out because I got a nail in the tire two days after the service and the tire shop refused to fix the tire as it was again considered unusable, but thankfully warrantied the useless, two month old tires with two new ones, which they did not need to do.  We called GW Subaru after our discussion with the tire shop and Justin, the service manager, said he would personally look the car over and that "he was a suspension expert."  We then took the car back to GW Subaru and learned that during our previous visit the mechanic noticed the poor condition of the tires so did not rotate the tires or do an alignment, but none of this was communicated to me at that time. During this visit, the vehicle was inspected and Justin gave the car a clean bill of health and said it must have been two faulty tires.  I was somewhat happy to hear that, but still concerned, as it was hard for me to believe at that point.  We drove the car locally for a few months until mid-November, when we had our snow tires put back on and another alignment done.  The shop that did the alignment said they could not get the left rear tire aligned and there was likely damage to the frame that they could not reach.  I immediately called Justin to discuss these results, and he asked that I bring it back in, which I did.  The service consultant said their staff concluded that the trailing arm was bent (which they of course blamed on us), but offered to order the new part at our expense.  I agreed to replace the arm and come back (an hour drive each way) two days later (Today).  They replaced the lower arm only to find that it was not the issue.  Upon further inspection(!), they discovered a crack in the weld where the upper control arm meets the sub frame.  They then suggested I see a body shop and charged me(!) for the diagnosis.  This was after I asked them for help on this issue three previous, separate occasions.  I doubt the staff at GW Subaru is worthy of your trust and I urge you to go elsewhere.  You will be wasting your time.  I feel I have been lied to, cheated, and stolen from.  The sales department (Roy) will happily sell you a faulty vehicle with an extended warranty plan that is of no use and the service department (Justin, Jordan, at least two other techs that either didn't communicate what they saw, or just didn't check) will fail to find or correct a problem that goes beyond an oil change. If there is a problem, you can be assured that it is your fault, and diligence is certainly not a part of their vocabulary. There is no way I will ever return to this dealership or service department, and I am re-thinking replacing my other, older vehicle with another Subaru.  I am beyond disappointed with my experience and have experienced a level of frustration that I did not think possible until today.

No Pressure Sales

Not often am I found wandering the lots of dealerships in search of my dream car. Where I live now and the lack of availability in this area for preowned vehicles motivated me to at least give it a try. After visiting a few local dealerships, I discovered that most were very nice and helpful, though few were at times definitely giving me the high pressure thing. At some point in my search, I found my way to the good people of Glenwood Springs Subaru. Right away the lot and showroom felt welcoming and relaxed. After perusing the cars of interest Roy Wilson approached us with a calm demeanor and helped us with test drives, answering questions succinctly and ultimately getting us a beautiful car with no hassles at a very fair price. This is a dealership that undoubtably places high priority in maintaining long term local relationships. Many thanks to all those involved in making this a seamless buying experience.

I recently purchased a new 2014 Subaru Cross-trek from the Glenwood Subaru location. Hilary and the whole Glenwood team made my "first time" car buying experience so easy and stress free! I felt well educated and supported through out the whole experience... even after the deal has been made. Hilary has checked in to make sure my need are continually being met and that I am enjoying my new car! I'm so pleased and Happy !

Terrible Customer Service

After I did my down payment they still won't give me the car because they want more paperwork. They shouldn't have taken the payment on the first place. Sales personnel and even the GM wasted my time. Really rude!

Very relaxed atmosphere. The minute we walked in we felt welcome. We bought two vehicles and have them serviced here as well. So convenient! Processional service department and parts are so easy to order. Fantastic place if your looking to get a Subaru and they have some nice used vehicles on their lot. Not your typical dealership for sure! Will recommend to anyone looking.

Fabulous dealer

We bought a 2013 Subaru Outback. What a wonderful buying experience! These folks (under new ownership) went above and beyond in every aspect of the process and I know they will continue to stand behind the sale. They were honest, fair, had full disclosure, and are just downright nice people. They went out of their way to get my studded snows put on when their service department was closed and are picking up and dropping off my car from my workplace to get the clear mask I wanted, put on. Amazing customer service! We worked with Hilary who was absolutely wonderful and wanted to make sure we got the car we wanted at the price we needed. Couldn't be happier!
