Don't bother

by cthorne98 on 09/04/2021

Worst experience ever. Showed up at my scheduled appointment to buy a used car to be told they just sold it. No phone call nothing, then to be shown the car with the sold sign on it - Thank you but no worries lets see if we can get you into something else. Unless you have another one just like it stop wasting my time. Drive by this dealer twice a day and I'll keep driving past as they have no idea how to win a new customer.

COPELAND TOYOTA

by Andrew on 03/11/2021

I did not like how car was sold and paperwork was done on thrusday and car was not done with registration and inspection sticker til Monday. I was told truck was ready to pickup on Saturday, I was not able to get there til Sunday and it was not done. They touched up the few things on car but never fixed rock chipped windshield, and never told me car only has one key, and this caused me to use two personal days from my county job to finish this sale with them, one day was I had no ride to work because truck was not ready, and the other day was to get another key made, because they only get keys made on wednesday.

The best car buying experience that I have ever had!

by Frank-R on 05/31/2018

I began my vehicle search on Edmonds.com. I was reluctant to enter my information thinking I would get bombarded with calls from a bunch of dealers. I was contacted by e-mail from Audrey at Copeland Toyota. She answered all my questions and provided me with a quote. She was extremely friendly and set up time for us to view the Toyota 4Runner that I was interested in. She was off that day and we met with Rory. We examined the vehicle and Rory knew about every inch of it and answered every question that we could come up with. When we sat down with him, it was a friendly atmosphere with no pressure at all. If anyone else approached us, it was to see if we needed anything. We decided to lease the vehicle, then had all the numbers explained in detail. We then met with Carlee in finance, again another friendly and professional person to deal with. We picked up the vehicle the next day. The vehicle was detailed beautifully, anther great explanation of features from Rory and off we went. This is my 5th 4Runner and the best experience I have ever had at a dealership. I will highly recommend this dealership and it's staff to everyone.

Great staff and service!

by MelissaC on 02/21/2018

I am so happy I chose Copeland! Alan Miller was my sales rep and he was a true straight shooter. There was no nonsense, no running back and forth to a manager, nothing hidden about the offer. He was upfront from the start and also stayed within my budget. The whole process was smooth from start to finish. I will absolutely come back here and would recommend working with Alan, or anyone on the team, to anyone looking for a car. Thanks Copeland!

Will not honor their agreements

by mikeoue on 03/19/2013

Copeland Toyota and I came to an agreement of the purchase price of a used Prius on Friday March 8. Included in the agreement (I have a copy of the contract) the dealer AGREED IN WRITING to not take a deposit on the car while we file the paperwork (even though they complained about it). I had outside financing set up so the next week I was actively working with the dealership to file the paperwork with my bank. Over that week I was at the dealership two additional times. All title, registration, purchase contract AND a bank draft was completed by the dealership. The dealership sent this information (including the bank draft) to my bank overnight to get the live check. The live check was to be mailed on March 18th. On the morning of March 18th I received a phone call from the dealership saying that they sold my car on March 16th. This was a huge waste of time since the dealership is a 30 minute drive one way. Plus I accrued fees with my bank to get the paperwork in order for them. Plus took time out of work to deal with the dealership on the purchase during THEIR business hours.

hoodwinked bamboozled led astray

by saundrac1 on 09/18/2011

I went into the dealership with a lot of confidence after using the helpful tools from edmunds.com. I was ready for the deal of a life time. The problem is that I went in with my husband, who just wanted a car without making negotiations, because he believes in paying a car off ahead of time. When we got in the sales person did the four square deal that was mentioned on the site. I was not prepared for the way that they played with the numbers. Somehow, in the end the price quoted on line got lost in all of the number games that they played. I begged my husband to walk away when they gave us a different set of numbers based on the four square method. Because he comes from a country where they are used to people being honest and dealing in one's best interest, he thought that we were a bother if we did not take what they had to offer....BIG MISTAKE #1. They hounded us to take the extended warranty/gap insurance package and I said "no". They asked about six different times. This was no surprise though. When we got to the final papers with the financing people, the final paper had a totally different number on it that we did not see before. By that time I walked out to only find that the sales guy had and my "trusting " husband had removed the car seats and items from the trade in vehicle. When I was coaxed back in, I thought that I heard one of the guys that work behind the cubicle making derogatory comments, but I was still trying not to be paranoid. My husband was not supportive and I felt that the sales guy and others thought that I lacked the intelligence to stand my ground and it all made for a bad deal. I will just say it point blank. As an African American woman, after having this experience, I will never, ever physically go into a dealership again unless all paperwork has been approved and all I have to do is sign. My credit was not stellar and they used it to their advantage. We needed a car within a fairly short time frame because of our schedules and we did it on a weekend that we had open. I would have preferred to wait for the approval that I did get from my credit union and deal with my car stalling on the side of the highway than to go through what I went through. I did not believe in the notion of being sized up and dealt with based on who you are until this experience. RACE is something that I do not even like to discuss as it is something that I have grown accustomed to dealing with on a daily basis, but this was so in your face and partly my fault for taking this sour deal, but I felt that it would have been the same at another dealership. Why? When I was at the Honda dealership prior to this, they kept trying to get me to get a new or used CRV rather than giving me what I asked for the PILOT-brand new!

No pressure sales!

by pmacleod on 10/12/2010

I contacted the dealership via the internet for a quote. With-in a day I received a quote that included the cost of the vehicle, any rebates and APR incentives. Along with this they also showed what the added costs (i.e. tax, reg fee, and doc fees) would be. This made it very easy to determine if I wanted to visit the dealership. I arrived at the dealership and was greeted promptly. We had the good fortune of dealing with salesman William Mok. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything. They honored the deal, but the trade-in value was lower than I could accept. Mr. Mok could see that I was not pleased and he worked with the sales manager to secure a better quote very quickly. The finance department was an easy process. We secured a rate of 2.9 for 60 months. They offered an extended warranty and gap insurance, but they never pressured into buying the services. Once this was done the car was cleaned and I was able to drive it home the same day.

2009 Tacoma V6, AT, 4x4 Dbl Cab, TRD Sport

by wcstory on 08/06/2008

Did a lot of shopping via internet - dealt with Ivan at internet sales. They were quick to respond and willing to talk real numbers. Willing to give quotes on several vehicals. They kept in contact, but were not pushy about getting me into the dealership. I changed my mind on models and colors at the last minute. We took a longer than average test drive with no questions from the sales staff. The sit down sales experience was not pushy or high pressure. Obviously they want you to buy the vehical today, this is how they make a living. I felt I got good deal for my money. Have not completed the whole transaction, but don't anticipate trouble. One of the owners was around the dealership at all times when I was there.
