Quick, Easy and no Hassle Experience at Westgate Pre-Owned!

I did my research before I arrived...so I was ready! I have to say that the reception and kind service that I received from Jesse was exceptional...he listened to what was most important to me and easily supported me through the process. Amber from online support was quick to set up my test drive and follow-up with me via text. I highly recommend this dealership and my sales support team. Looking forward to enjoying my new Range Rover!!

Weather checked tires

Purchased a GCM dually via telephone after seeing it online and reviewing all the photos and speaking to the sales team a few times. I was told the vehicle was in excellent condition with only 20k miles on it. Paid full price and had it shipped to us on the west coast. It arrived with all the tires extremely weather checked/rotted tires. We felt unsafe even driving it to the tire shop to have them look at it. They diagnosed the tires as very unsafe and severely weather checked, even the spare tire. Had to purchase 6 brand new tires. Called the dealership and sent them the photos and documentation via email. They said they will not do anything for us, they don't have to do anything for us. I asked them to put that in writing. The sales manager refused and told me to have a nice day and basically hung up on us. We learned an expensive lesson buying from WestGate Preowned.

Poor sales person

I have purchased my son a 2016 Jeep Wrangler 75th anniversary new from Westgate so i decided to try their used lot for an additional family car. I visited their site on Friday. Overall, nice looking dealership. All was good until they assigned me a sales person. I run a division of a company that has sales people so maybe i'm overly critical but this person needs training. First, there was no sales pitch or no value proposition that separated Westgate from anyone else. No reason i should buy from Westgate only to say they made the buying experience easy. Really? I do not like to be told information that i know is not accurate. He tried saying the cars was lower price and that it would be harder to get cars this time of year. Nice try but FALSE. Also, if i want it then i want a good deal. I had already shopped other dealers and frankly they were much cheaper for like vehicle. Salespeople should also pick up on a customer's body language and clearly mine said he was not very good. I don't need to do business here but my new car experience was good at the Jeep Store so i thought i would give them a try. The topper was when i said i was not happy with what he was telling me or the price and i told him i would just visit a competitor. He said ok and let me leave. Amazed. Guys, there are a million dealers so you have to do a better job assessing the customer and giving them a reason they should buy from you. He should have said let me go get my manager or something. No, he just let me leave. Like i said, maybe I'm too critical but my assessment is that this dealership lacks proper sales training and i won't be revisiting. The only good experience was running into someone that works for you that recognized me from school 30+ years ago. That was the only highlight from this visit. Shop around and find someone who actually wants your business.

Good customer servcie-quick turn around time

Sales rep Trey Heatwole was very pleasant and willing to test drive a few vehicles until I made a decision on the 2010 xc 60 volvo. The finance manager Mr.Tom Graves, also willing to negotiate until we reached an agreement. I came into the dealership at 9:45 and out at 12:30. The least amount of time spent at a dealership. I did the research but they made the transaction easier. Thanks

We had the best truck buying experience of our lives at WestGate. We bought a 2013 Nissan Frontier and were pleased at how quickly we came to an agreement. Salesman Bennie Melvin and everyone in the dealership was friendly, accommodating and efficient. We would recommend WestGate to anyone looking for a fair deal.

Great Experience from beginning to end

John Overton is a great salesman at WestGate Pre-Owned he greeted us as soon as we stepped out onto the lot. He did not know if we were just looking or going to purchase. He treated us as if we were top priority from the first moment. John was very knowledgeable about the vehicles. We actually just came to look and ended up purchasing a Mercedes S 550. Car buying isn't the most fun thing in my book. Trey Heatwole ,was not your Typical "car salesman" I felt no pressure or push , only a desire to find a car that would meet my needs. I loved the follow up from Mitch Williams & Trey after my husbands initial visit, to see how They might be able to best meet my needs and find me the right car. They took notes on the things that were important to me and remembered them the next day when I came to test drive the car. It was clear that they appreciated my business and based on their customer service alone I will refer & come back to West Gate. Every person I interacted with down to the finance manager,Tommy Graves Jr. were wonderful to work with! I also got a great deal & a great car & I did LOTS of research.

Awesome experience

Good price but terrible customer service

Westgate has good pricing. However, if you are looking for customer service, this might be the last place you want to go. The staff lack knowledge about the cars. Cars are not inspected before put on the lot. Staff extremely unprofessional. If you value customer service and honesty, this is not your place.

Worst experience I've ever had at a dealership

We had a very disappointing experience at this dealership. We were very interested in a Chevy Volt we came to see on April 9th driving four hours from Blacksburg Virginia to this dealership to look at the vehicle. We came prepared to buy with a cashier’s check and assuming the test drive and the pre-purchase inspection with the mechanic we scheduled went okay we’d planned to take the car home that day. First I’d like to say that the internet sales manager seemed friendly enough as did the receptionist we spoke to when we arrived at the dealership however the salesman we were introduced to was very different. I believe his name was Lee. He was rude at times and generally indifferent. This alone would not have prevented us from considering the car though my wife and I both considered requesting a different salesman. Our biggest problem however was that he knew nothing about the vehicle, I’m not even sure he was aware that it was an electric car. It quickly became obvious that he would not be capable of answering any questions we had about the vehicle. This may have been more understandable if we’d stopped by last minute but the visit was scheduled ahead of time so I would have expected him to be prepared. After he first pulled the car around he seemed reluctant to let us test drive it. He first suggested we take it around the lot, which under no circumstances would be an adequate test drive. We also had made arrangements to take the car to a local mechanic for inspection which he also resisted and asked us to come back after the test drive and “talk numbers” before having the car inspected. I’m not sure why he believed that would be appropriate as there’s no point discussing the price of the vehicle before we know that it’s mechanically sound and we’re willing to move forward. If an issue was found small enough that we still wanted to consider the car this would obviously still come into play when discussing a price. Either way, these were both red flags. When we did actually get to test drive the vehicle (without him allowing us to take it to a mechanic) the first thing I noticed was that the battery was at 0% charge which was displayed clearly on the screen and the windshield was cracked. Once again, this may have been more understandable if we dropped by last minute but this was a planned visit. This was a complete deal breaker as obviously we would not be willing to buy an electric car without first being able to test drive it on electric power. The salesman also had told us just before we left for the test drive that the vehicle had just been inspected and approved. I wouldn’t have confidence in the inspection process that passed the car with the windshield cracked. Upon arrival back at the dealership after a very short test drive I informed the salesman that this was an extended range electric car and the battery was dead so we could not fully test drive the car. He asked us to wait while he had the car charged proving our suspicion that he knew nothing about the vehicle as the vehicle takes 10+ hours to charge with the standard charger and a minimum of 4.5 hours with a supercharger. We followed him over to the service area and informed him of the time required to fully charge the vehicle, he then asked us how to charge it and asked if it plugged into a standard outlet. To my knowledge all plug in cars can plug into a standard outlet. At this point he had wasted more than enough of our time and we told him we had to go. I have purchased four cars over the last 8 years and looked at many more and this is by far the worst experience we have ever had at a dealership. There are plenty of dealerships to choose from in this area, I highly recommend buying from somewhere else!

Greatest car buying experience ever

Recently, I bought a Jeep Compass from Westgate and I am beyond thrilled to share my experience there. From the moment my father and I walked in the door, we were welcomed with smiling faces and, admittedly, I was overwhelmed by the delicious smell of freshly popped popcorn. Upon our arrival, the staff was quite busy so we were directed to the waiting lounge. We happily waited in the pleasant lounge equipped with really comfortable couches, a TV, and refreshments galore. It wasn't too long until a sales representative was available. Our sales representative was Gregg Jacobs. We told him what we were looking for and we test drove my current car!! I was so pleased with how knowledgable Gregg was about the vehicle. He answered all of the questions we had with exquisite detail. Gregg was able to coordinate an accommodating deal with a financing insurance manager, John Azzarelli. Likewise, John was exceptional to work with. We left the dealership with a new car and, as cheesy as it sounds, new friends. Overall, my experience was unbeatable and everything was beyond satisfactory. Whatever you're looking for, the people here will help you find it. Great people, great atmosphere!!
