WORTS EXPERIENCE EVER! 0 STARS!

by moni08 on 02/16/2015

My husband and I are looking for a family car since we just had a baby and were very interested in Kia, so we visited Kia of Cerritos. When we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly sales person Henry James, but that did not last very long. He made our family car buying experience the very worst. At first he was very friendly he showed us around and we picked two cars that will fit our new family. After that we went to the office where we took all of information. Then after that it was down hill...He became very pushy, sarcastic and just plain rude. He came back with a piece of paper with a total cost of the Sorento of almost $39k (initially he had said it was $34k). He asked us how much we wanted to put down and we responded that we wanted to use our trade in with no down payment. Right away he responded with "your trade is not worth anything" (he didn't even bother to look at our trade in). He just made an assumption. He said that if we give no down payment our car payment will be $814 (which is insane; we had already told him what our budget was $500) So we asked him for more options. What about the other car we had seen for $24k; would that help us reach our goal? He went on to say "Do you think our sales people have time to be going back and forth?" I told us about 10x "come on guys how much are you going to put down" in a not so nice tone and almost intimidating. We felt like he wanted us to get the car he wanted to sell and put down the amount that he wanted (3k). It didn't become about what fit our family and our budge but more about the sale he wanted to make. At the end we told him that this was not going to work out for us. And he got up and said "alrighty then" and walked out. Wow! I think my husband and I were in shock and still are. We were very excited to start shopping for our first family car and the first dealership that we went made our experience very unpleasant. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone and especially this car sales man Henry James.

First-time Buyer

by phorsha1231 on 02/03/2015

This past weekend I went to Kia of Cerritos with the hopes of purchasing a Kia Soul. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the lot manager Michael. He was very warm and welcoming. He took note of my specific needs while making my family and I feel at home. he placed us under the care of Tony Townsend. Tony was also very warm and welcoming. He looked over Michael's notes, gave me a tour and showed me a few suggestions. While he went to grab a set of keys for a new Soul, I walked around and took a look at some others. I found a 2013 Soul that I fell in love with. Tony walked me around the full perimeter of the car and gave me full details on every part of it. He broke down detail from top to bottom. He also told me he was a previous soul owner and assured me I would be buying a safe car. Once I went on a test drive, I was sold. The entire experience was an amazing one. Tony made sure we were comfortable at all times. He made my first buying experience a pleasant one. Him and Michael are a great team. There needs to be more salesmen like tony and more managers like Michael. I wish I could give them more than five stars. These two were superb! I must say I absolutely love my new car! I will be telling all my friends and family to come and see them for their car buying needs. Not only were they friendly, but also very professional. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I would give no stars if I could

by Lyndae on 09/02/2014

We went to this dealership to purchase an ad car. We spent a considerable amount of time with sales lady but we were not able to get the price we wanted. So we started to leave but we were approached by the original salesman that we talked to on the phone. He was able to persuade us into accepting the last offer. We went back in to purchase the car but when it came time to sign the deal they had reneged on their offer and added the amount that they originally took off. We wasted 4 hours of our life here and came home empty handed. I have bought many new cars in my lifetime but I have never walked away with such a bad taste in my mouth. Beware of hidden fees and advertised specials. This dealer likes to adverstise specials and then not deliver on what is advertise. Have you ever heard of a "dealer preparation fee"?

[non-permissible content removed] with False Promises and Hidden Feees

by MADelatorre on 09/01/2014

Here's the story. I have planned to do business with your dealership. I have been in touch with David. When I called on Friday to confirm, David informed me that there were only 3 Basic models of the Kia Souls left. I told him thank you for his time and that I was going to another Kia dealer because there might not be any left by the time I got there. The next day I received a call from Dustin calling to confirm if I was coming in. I told him what David told me and that I was going to another dealer. Dustin told me that he had plenty of Basic Models. I told him that I dont want to play any games and that I want an automatic and a manual transmission model, because I am going to purchase 2 vehicles. Dustin told me that he had a lot in stock. I told him that Kia of Alhambra had an add in the paper for All 2014 Automatic Basic Model Kia Souls for $12,889 after rebates and $10,889 for manual. I had talked with the manager their and I had it set up with them that I did not qualify for their military and grad, and since I purchased a Kia before, they were going to give me the Kia loyalty, and the sales manager at Alhambra told me to just add $800 to the price. I told them that I was going to do business with them. I told Dustin about this and he told me that he was going to match that price and I asked him to confirm that at least 2 times and he promised that to me, and he kept asking me to come there. I ended telling Dustin Ok, and I confirmed with him that I would be there by 7:30 pm that night. I showed up to your dealership before 7:30 and asked for Dustin. When Dustin showed up I asked him to show me the vehicles and that I was ready to buy 2 vehicles at the price he promised me. Dustin then got David to help us. David came over and said he had other business to contend to and David handed us off to Haythem. I told Haythem which vehicles I was there for and Haythem told us that they were all sold. I told him to get Dustin (who was inside the building and I could see him), when Haythem told Dustin I wanted to talk to him, Dustin walked away and Haythem came back to us with Ryan (Sales manager), Ryan went over and said they had 4-5 Basic Models Left and that they only had 1 Manual model left. I told Ryan to let me see them. They showed me 3 of the Basic Models but they could not find the manual model. (I was still ready to buy at this point). I told Haythem to find the Manual Model and lets get the paper work started on the automatic models, I told him Dustin's and My agreement. Haythem then goes to the front desk and that Manager said that they cant give me that price. I told them to get Dustin, Dustin never showed up, except when I was ready to leave and when I confronted him he said the best he could do would be $15,000. By the way, they still have not found the manual model. But I was still ready to buy and when I told them to get the other vehicle, David tells me that there are hidden extra fees. When I asked him about them, we walked over to the vehicle that I was going to purchase and he scratches off a sticker that was covering and extra $1000 in fees. At this point I am furious and I wanted to talk to Dustin and Dustin's boss, but Dustin would not talk to me and they told me that Herby had left. Dustin wasted my time with false promises. I still plan on getting in touch with his boss and the main boss of the your company, because this was [non-permissible content removed]. Dustin wasted my time and he costed another dealer to lose out on a sale. Please forward this email to Herby as I will be telling about this. I am still pissed off with your dealership and I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS NOR WILL I RECOMMEND YOUR DEALERSHIP TO ANYONE!.

Best Car Buying Experience EVER

by TinaZCA on 08/11/2014

In 36 years of driving, and after MANY car buying experiences, this was by far the quickest, most pleasant ever. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. My car was delivered clean and full of gas and all in record time! Great inventory, which makes it easy to find just what you're looking for!

STAY AWAY!!!!

by 2424 on 08/02/2013

Terms of the deal kept changing. monthly payment was going to be 387. Then they changed it to 391. We were told that if we used our own financing they wouldn't honor the price in their own ad. It was still a good price so we made the purchase. Lots of deception. I would never go there again.

Beware of sales managers

by real_buyer1 on 04/20/2013

Went in with my son to help him purchase a new vehicle. We made the mistake of telling the salesman that he had crashed his car the day before and needed to make a deal that day.We were offered 3.9 financing thru Kia, but were later told that we did not qualify so the new rate would be 9.9%. After a rather loud exchange on the sales floor the manager went back to his office to see if he could get a better deal. The bullpen at this dealership is glass on all sides, so we were able to see him sitting at his desk drumming on his blotter with his ink pen. He emerged to tell us the great news,he had called a few banks and gotten us a better term. Oddly enough it was 3.9% with Kia without ever picking up the phone. Two months later I went back to buy a new Optima and was offered a payment plan of 523 for 36 months on a lease. I'll take my business elsewhere. These guys are the horror story you've heard about, steer clear.

Very Happy

by msjwms on 12/27/2012

I purchased a KIA Sportage (2013) on December 8. It was the easiest and friendliest car purchase I have ever encountered, and also painless. The sales staff was very helpful and friendly.

Good Experience

by ldcolvin on 03/30/2012

I would like to take this opportunity to compliment John Wood for the professionalism he extended to my husband and myself during our recent buying experience at this dealership. We purchased a new Sorento SX from the this dealership. The entire experience was much more pleasant that I had anticipated. The only thing that I feel would have enhanced our purchase experience would have been a more timely handling of the processing after we had agreed to an acceptable price on the vehicle. I would have thought that things would have moved along a little faster after we accepted the price due to the fact that financing was not an issue. I hope that any future needs will be handled with the same professionalism that John and Mark Near, Sales Manager extended to myself and my husband.

Be Careful with this Dealership

by gjp77 on 01/04/2012

Went in as they had a 2011 Optima SX advertised for $9K under MSRP with all applicable discounts, including college grad, military, Kia financing etc. Loved the car but the wife didn't like the Spicy Red color. Really wanted White with a nav unit. The Manager tried to get us in a 2012, but i told her the price of the 2011 is what brought us in. She tried to con us in to a horrible lease. then talked to her manager, said he would honor the dealer discount offered on the 2011, about $2k, and some other discounts for a total of about $4K, not bad. But the catch was i had to use their financing at 5.99%, when I could get a loan for 2.99%. they claimed the additional percentage would only add a few dollars to the monthly payment. Actually, it would have added over $35 per month. I told them i would make the purchase but wanted to use my own financing, he told me flat out no, didn't even look at me when he said it. What really ticked me off is when i got home i looked on Edmunds for incentives and rebates, Kia financing was offering a 3.99% loan for the term we wanted, so why did the manager tell us 5.99% Buyers beware of this dealer.

Waste of time! Won't deal. Will make promoses and not follow thru...

by mazda5forme on 09/18/2011

We went there on a saturday morning, place was kinda busy, but not too bad. They had a huge stock of new KIA's and some advertised deals that looked really good. We looked at a new Optima, and picked one we liked. We were going to trade in a almost new 2011 KIA, as we needed a smaller KIA with better mileage for my wife. The trade in was worth nearly $30,000, 4 months old and they came in with a rediculous lowball offer, and were charging full MSRP for the KIA we wanted to buy. No sale price as advertised, which would have knocked off $2500.00 on the new KIA. So we walked off. Got the exact deal we wanted at the price we wanted to pay, with the trade in on our 2011 KIA we got a bit over $28,000 PLUS KIA of Garden Grove knocked off the $2000 off the 2012 that we bought. We really don't like playing games with dealers, when we go to buy...we are serious customers. Cerritos KIA likes to treat you like an idiot.

Stay away from Kia of Cerritos

by rafitoo on 06/27/2011

This dealer likes to adverstise specials and then not deliver on what is advertise. Have you ever heard of a "dealer preparation fee"? That was added when they did not want to sell a vehicle as advertised. They advertised a sale price plus a $1,500 rebate. However, they would not sell the vehicle unless the dealer preparation fee was added. This fee was not shown on the vehicle's sticker or on the sales ad. It was a $695 dollar fee. When we first sat down to buy the vehicle as advertised with a $2,150 Kia Cerritos Discount and a $1,500 KFA Bonus cash. All they wanted to give us was the $1,500 KFA bonus cash. Stay away from this dealer. There are other dealers that will sell as advertised.
