Unwilling to put you in the right car for you.

by fair_rater on 12/11/2016

This is in reference to their used car sales department. Terrible experience. They kept trying to put me in cars that were overpriced. Thank goodness for my credit union not approving the 1st one. Then, they only wanted me to purchase high mileage vehicles and ones that had accessories I did not want, i.e. leather seats, moon roof, etc. I was pre-approved through my credit union and directed them not to run through any other financing institutions. Am trying to repair my credit rating and did not need too many inquiries on my credit. They assured me they would only go through my credit union. Imagine my upset when I kept receiving financing reject letters through several financial institutions, meaning they kept running it through other financial institutions without my knowledge or consent. Thankfully, I found a car that will meet my needs and for the price that is fair, $3,000+ less on sticker price AND less mileage on it than what they were trying to stick me into, as well as much better body shape than the last car they told me they could get for me (scratches, damaged bumper, broken tail light cover, etc.). Also, 1 car they tried to stick me in had almost 95,000 miles on it. They knew, up front from me, if I purchased a high mileage vehicle, my 1 stipulation was that they replace timing belt/chain. They agreed, and it was even told to me that it had been replaced on that vehicle. When I went back and was speaking to one of the managers, he asked service dept if it had been replaced and the response was, "No, because it's not at 100,000 miles." I was refused this one request, though it only had a little over 5,000 miles to reach that point. BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, here I come.

El Paso Hyundai - Hard sales tactics

by jackweee on 04/16/2011

If you've ever been involved in sales, or been to a Time Share sales presentation, you'll know what I mean. My only advice is to research the vehicle you want, don't give in to hard sales tactics, and stand your ground with the price you want. You will be able to buy a car from them below invoice. It may take you a few hours, but you can get a good deal out of them. Don't be afraid to walk away. If you go in there with no game plan, then you're going to get got. Just type car buying tips into google and the first result will tell you how to buy a car. Ok, other than their hard sales tactics, I'd say the staff is very well manured and very helpful. They'll show you where everything you need is, will introduce you to everyone you need to know. I give them 3 out 5 because of the hard sales. I went in there the first day just to look at cars, and then they're trying to hard sell me when I found a car that I like.
