Horrible experience.

by Don fuqua on 10/22/2020

By far one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had purchasing a vehicle. Before visiting I was working with a salesman on numbers to help speed the process up. I get to the dealership to verify the vehicle and Continue to work numbers. We agree and write up a deal based on trade in, down payment and rebates. This process takes about 2 hours as expected. Once we run credit and get everything approved the salesman comes back and states the manager ran my numbers based on a 4x4 truck so the residual would be lower marking the payments higher. The issue is there was only ever one vehicle discussed with specific vin provided. After working the numbers from 530 a month to 505 they came back with 540 due to the “manager” quoting the wrong residual from the beginning in the numbers. Which doesn’t make sense since the numbers were worked on a specific vehicle/vin. This is after I have agreed to put more down and provided another rebate. So after 3 hrs I am now higher than I started. I drove 40 mins to this dealership due to the one in town not having the vehicle in stock and this now has me looking into another brand after I have been with ram/dodge for 6 years and 5 vehicles.

Outstanding - Couldn't ask for more!

by FullThrottle64 on 04/20/2016

I have to hand it to Champion Dodge in Athens, AL. After ordering my Scat Pack Challenger through them about a month ago, they have checked every box on the list on this deal. I honestly could not ask for better service, attitude, follow-through, and generally being decent guys. The salesperson - David Ivey called every week with status updates - I NEVER had to call him. When I arrived to pick it up, it had 3 miles on it. The salesman had worked with the service department to have me drive the car on the check-out run, with the service tech riding shotgun. PERFECT! Everything had been done precisely as I asked. To top it off, the sales guy had me drive it with him to the gas station to fill it up with 93 octane. He said they do this for all the SRTs, but he wanted me to see him doing it. [Unfortunately, I don't recall the service tech's name to give him credit.] After this, I dropped a SD card in the slot to see how the H-K system sounded.....no go. Uh, oh. Then I tried the USB to my phone - no power, no connection. Not good. The service manager (Gil) dropped everything, jumped into the car, and found the loose connector (hadn't been connected properly at the factory). 20 minutes later, all back together and working perfectly. Fast, friendly, no excuses, no BS. A+ I strongly recommend these guys. They stand out as top-tier in an industry that unfortunately has a lot of questionable players.

Manager refused to complete body repair from damage dealership caused.

by sherrykayday on 07/21/2010

We have had close to 18 vehciles between me and my husband in our lifetime and purchased 4 diffe from Champion Chevrolet over the years. We recently purchased a 2008 Dodge Nitro from their Dodge dealership. At the time of the test drive we knew there was a knock in the tires and an overhead lamp was out. The dealership agreed to out brand new tires on the vehicle, fix the lamp and do a cleanup. The next monday the dealership called and said they messed up our paperwork and needed us to come in immediately and resign. So we did. Then the next day they called and said they missed a piece of paperwork on the warranty and could I come back and sign again.I was not able to leave work that day so they had a guy run the one paper to me to sign. A day later they call again and we needed to resign all the paperwork again! Then we were also given the run around about the tires for over two weeks, even caught the salesman in an out right lie over these tires. He never returned our calls when we called him. Just bad business! But wait there's more! It was a hassle to get the tires put on because they use a local tire shop so had to arrange the service myself, take off work to drop it off to the tire store and all the time finding rides to pick me up drop me off. Then... the big problem arises, all this was just bad customer service. After the the tires were on the dealership cleaned up the vehicle. They used a tire shine and a few days later the car had thick black splatter all down the sides and in the fenders. We went to wash the vehicle we found out the tire shine splatter stained the vehicle on all the plastic on the sides, fenders and bumpers. We immediatley took it back to the dealership. They attempted to say it was on their when we bought it. It wasn't, it was amazing how you could wipe away a splatter mark and there was a stain in that exact spot! Anyway they said they could get it off. They tried chemicals, buffing whatever they could and it did not come off. They buffed so hard they burned the clear coat. There only option was to paint. They agreed to sray all the affected parts. So, I arrange to drop off the vehicle and the salesman was not there at the agreed time and I was told he would not be in that day. I leave it with another salesman even walk out to the vehicle and show him what needed to be painted. They keep the vehicle for 4 days and i'm bumming rides to work. I Pick it up on a Friday and get it home only to find out they did not paint the back bumper. So now I have 3 different shades of white on the car. The fenders are close enough and the front bumper is too but a back panel that is right next to the fender is an obvious different color. When we took it back the manager "Joel" who was an irrate with us. He was refused to fix it and stated he wished we had never bought the car from them not once but twice and that he was not spending one more cent on our vehicle. My husband asked him "so you are honestly saying you would be happy with this if this was your car?" The manager said "yes I would". My husband said I dont think you would, the mananger stormed off and said "now you are calling me a liar so we are done." the manager stomped off and said we could talk to the body shop they used, that he was not putting any more money in our vehicle and he again wished we had never bought the car cause he would rather have us as friends. Then stated his guy said the stains were on their when we bought it. I told him this was not about friendship it was business. We took it to the body shop they kept the vehicle over night and called us the next day only to tell us that they were not even charging the dealership anything for painting it and had not planned to. Oh the anger! So the body shop tells us the manager is a hot head and very difficult for them to deal with too but they would call him and work something out. They did and Joel still refused, so the body shop said they wanted us to be happy so they'd fix it f

Bad Dealership

by princedm on 07/12/2009

On June 8th I purchased a 2009 Chrysler Town and Country. On the 10th I removed the advertising plate the dealer had installed on the front bumper. I have purchased several cars and truck in the past that also had plate on the front. The only difference is, the dealer drilled holes in the bumper to install the plate. I know now that Chrysler and Dodge minivans have dimples on the bumper for plates. But I never would have thought a dealership would damage the bumper just to install there advertising plate. I called the dealer back and complained about this. I later was called by the general sales manager. He stated that they have always done this and he would not repair it. He did state that he may be able to get us a discount for the repairs. It has been a long battle, but they are still refusing to fix it. I took the van to another dealership and paid $392.04 to have the bumper repaired. I could type in all the details about this but it would take all day. I have created a website about my experience, if anyone would like to read it. Thanks [violative content deleted]
