Lied to and treated poorly

by dissatisfied30 on 08/12/2014

I called to inquire about a particular car that I had seen on line. I was told that it was available. I made an appointment for a test drive. I waited 30 minutes and then proceeded to leave. At this point the salesman told me that the car had been sold a couple of days ago. They told me that morning that it was there. My time was wasted.

2014 Lincoln MkZ Hybrid

by Jimstingray on 10/10/2013

We purchased a new 2014 Lincoln MkZ Hybrid from Southern last weekend. Very pleased with the car and highly impressed with Southern Lincoln. Bobbi was extremely knowledgeable with the Lincoln vehicles and took the time to walk us through all of the car's features before and after the purchase. This is a very genuine car dealership...not fake or "put-on" in their dealings with their customers. This is probably the first time I have purchased a vehicle and was just as happy with the buying experience as I was with my purchase. Great dealership, highly recommended!

Avoid Lynnhaven Mercury Kia

by perk33 on 07/21/2010

I am not one to write a review. I am in the people business and I understand when the "customer" feels a certain way...it is because their experience was not good. So, I try to make sure we do our "best" and treat each person with respect. We purchased a vehicle from this dealership last year. The salesperson called me a few weeks ago asking us about refinancing our loan...I said sure...I am willing to look into it, if it could save us $40-$50/month. We signed the papers they ran the credit and we got an approval. Great right? Wrong. I found out that the interest rate they were charging was 3% higher than the bank approved rate...extra money for Lynnhaven Mercury Kia...they charge a standard processing fee of almost $500 ( I was ok, I understand commissions, no one does anything for nothing), etc..Here is the reason that I am writing this review...they were going to add almost an additional $1,0000 to do this deal just because...the finance person I was working with gave me the "final number" for the loan, this person was out, and another finance person called me and asked me to come because the other person was out... I said ok...this is when they told me the "sales manager" had to add his blessing of an additional $1,000 to the deal. We walked out at this point, because of the greed and "shady" business practices at Lynnhaven Lincoln Mercury Kia located in Virginia Beach, VA. Reap what you sow....

Great Experience

by crazyyank on 03/28/2010

I purchased a 2010 Forte Koup from Lynnhaven and the experience was wonderful. Not only did I get a great price (invoice) but Cherie the Finance Manager was terrific and so was Johnnie my Sales Consultant. I was not pressured at all to purchase. I have recommended Lynnhaven to others and my sister-in-law purchased here and is very happy.

False advertisement

by coeril on 02/28/2009

They posted an ad on the Sunday paper (Feb. 22) and we were told on over the phone on the following Monday (Feb. 23) that it was still available. We went to the dealership on that Tuesday (Feb. 24) and the last car was sold on Feb. 16 according to their own staff. It is their responsibility to cancel outdated ads. All they want is to get you in so that they can get you to buy one of their cars. BUYER BEWARE!

Horrible Experience

by tobe_enonimus on 11/28/2008

I first started dealing with Lynnhaven Kia after requesting a quote online thru Edmunds. The internet manager Valerie (she was more than helpful thru this whole time and I have nothing bad to say about her at all) subsequently called me and left messages and we exchanged emails for about 4 days. I told Valerie that I didn't want to drive out to their facility if they couldn't quote me a price on a 2008 Kia Sorento (offering 5k cashback/rebate). After she directed me to the website I chose the stock number vehicle I wanted and she quoted me the price including the rebate and told me to come in the next day and she would have it ready for a test drive and have everything else ready for me. My wife and I walked in the next day and the sales staff didn't even greet me, no one greeted me, as a matter of fact a very sharp dressed guy was standing at the door when I walked up to make sure that I was parked in the right spot he says to me "yeah?". Either way, we finally reach the Kia Manager who quoted me the great Kia price and he says "oh yeah I remember you I believe Natalie quoted you some price online right?, well this guy here will take care of you'. (I'd like to add that Dave the manager says to this guy as they are walking up to me in a low whisper "this guy here says that he supposedly received a quote from Natalie for $16 something on that vehicle, see what thats all about b/c that doesn't sound right; I brought the email with that quote, they weren't interested in seeing it though). I don't remember the sales person's name he was just rude and I stopped listening to him after awhile, he took my wife around the car (it would have been her car) and told her "this is the door handle", this is the air conditioning vent"; "this is how you turn the windshield wiper on/off" in a real condescending manner. After the test drive he comes back, doesn't even look at our trade in or ask us to fill out a credit report and starts talking monthly payments. I ask him to make sure that my quoted price was still the price I was going to get the car for, he says "yeah, yeah but we need to figure out your monthly payment first". Without knowing anything about us he quotes us right off the bat, $0 down with $600/month for 72 months take it or leave it. I understand that car buying can be an ordeal and ultimately we didn't buy the car there but it was the way we were treated the whole time we were in there, the overpitching of the "southern hospitality auto group after sale care program and how its worth paying our monthly price". I'd like to add that a few days earlier we went their sister company Greenbrier Kia and received similar treatment yet this sales guy is bashing that company the whole time. It didn't seem very professional and instead of negotiating Lynnhaven Kia we decided to leave as my wife felt very uncomfortable with the sales guy the whole time, he was the only sales guy besides the Sales Manager. I wouldn't recommend going to this location to buy a Kia. If you are going to go there come with your own approved loan thru a bank so they don't try and scam you the whole time.

Ended up going elsewhere

by italybound on 10/25/2008

I was very interested in buying an '08 Sedona. I had done all my research and was ready to finance and drive away. With all the technology these days we started our shopping with the dealer online. Spent an entire day phoning back and forth with the Internet Sales Rep. I do have to say that she (Donna Whitehurst) was very helpful and is being left out of this review. We received highly qualified pre-approval status and had a number of options as far as "specials" were concerned. The ad they currently were running said that they offered 0% APR, 0 down AND 0 payments for 90 days. This of course was the deal we wanted. Donna walked our application and all the information we had exchanged over the last few hours into her managers office. She then let me know that he would be giving me a call within an hour to work out the details so we could seal the deal. This was at 5:25pm on a Wednesday. The dealership is open until 9pm. The call never came that night. Nor did it come the next day. By lunchtime I had written Donna 2 emails to inform her what was going on. Turns out, Thursday was her day off. Obviously I didn't hear anything back from her. I began to call other dealerships in the area and found the same vehicle, for considerably less and the most amazing sales staff (but that's another review). I then emailed Donna to let her know how incredibly disappointed we were and that we had taken our business elsewhere. She apologized and said she was going to have a word with the manager. Finally on Friday night the manager called. But by then it was way too late. All around the area dealerships are hurting for business in this economical crisis. It amazes me how little they wanted our business. Turned out fine for me. I received a better deal at another dealer and can now positiviely say that Lynnhaven Kia lives up to it's reputation.

one of the wost buying experiences

by sorento2006 on 11/07/2007

i had a 2006 kia sorento with the sport package, and owed quite a bit of money, but the dealership in question knew all of this, and did their best to not only take advantage of me,but tried to make me see all was in my best interest...i wanted a new car because of the rising gas prices, and felt, with only 13,000 miles on my trade, this would be a good time to trade.the dealership told me i had to add credit life,& an extended warranty in order for them to cap some of their loss.they gave me $15,000 for my trade, sold me the new car, with 2900 miles on it,for $17,500,then added the extended warranty for another $2200.00.now,granted,i didn't have to sign the papers, but felt like i had no other choice.i wanted to get my other vehicle back, but they kept making excuses.i bought a 2007 mercury milan, which i really enjoy driving, but like doctors, when & where did dealerships become so greedy, and lose any type of compassion.on top of everything else,i have owned the new car for almost a month, and the salesman has yet to contact me,and the other office people, with the exception of tina in the service department, and amber in the aftermarket department, are complete & total [violative content removed],who don't care about the customer after the sale, and no one involved in the actual sale, has ever attempted to call me to make sure everything is good with the new car,etc..maybe i expect too much, but what the hell am i supposed to think about this experience?am i supposed to think that all mercury dealerships treat their customers in this manner ?
