Worst dealership I have ever dealt with

In the last 10-15 in state and out of state vehicle purchases this dealership is by far the worst experience I’ve had. Salesman was ok at best with friendliness. Manager was not at all. I committed to buying a truck, sent them the requested information and approval of funds. The next day I received a text that they sold the truck to someone else and do not sell to out of state customers. The entire time they knew I was flying in from out of state to purchase and I was paying their asking price.

Poor

Had the evaporator core replaced under warranty on my new car. I knew before hand that the dash would need to be removed, (being a former auto tech). Received car back with large panel gaps, missing hardware,(later found underneath the floor mats) broken clips and a new "clunk" in the steering wheel. Brought all this info to a service advisor and they didn't even ask I refused to let them replace the steering wheel shaft. Let this be your warning.

Service Department Used for Several Hyundai

I have used this service department for both warranty and non=warranty work. On everything from a 2006 Elantra to a brand new 2015 Sonata which needed a minor warranty repair, I have always received excellent repairs at the quoted price. I have been contacted when problems have been uncovered and shown exactly what was found, why it needed to be corrected, and even when it was something I could correct myself. On one of my vehicles the cabin filter had not been changed in 18 months. The tech took a few minutes to check it then called and said "if I change it, cost will be $xx. But I know you do most of your own maintenance, so you need to address this issue." I appreciate that the service department understands that I DO a lot of my own work, and give me the option to have them do the work, or do it myself. I especially appreciate that my college age daughter can go in and tell them what she wants done and doesn't get pressured for unneeded services. All I can suggest to anyone using ANY service department is to be clear in what you want, and when not sure of the problem make sure all parties understand that there is cost associated with looking for a problem, and that those costs should be explained up front. This is a good shop with some really good mechanics/technicians. One indication of a well run shop is that the same mechanics/staff are there year after year. I have seen the same faces in this service department for well over ten years. I highly recommend them for Hyundai service.

warranty not being honored

Manufacture defect on my 2012 Hyndai with only 38,000 miles (I bought it from this dealership new) on my back passenger door. I heard wind noise coming from window and was surprised when the owner of PDA (Property Damage Appraisals) told me this was a manufacture defect and door was not installed properly. It is approximately 4mm off and this caused the door not to align properly when closed and as a result my glass run channel has warped. After 3 months of back and forth with the service and collision managers my husband was told they would meet us halfway with the repair and we would have to pay 400 dollars. PDA has given me an estimate on that glass run channel and total for parts and labor run approximately 216.00. I used to be the warrantly administrator for a Ford dealership for years and things like this were taken care of by dealerships under what is called a "good will claim". I am not asking for a new door or an expensive repair for free I am asking for timely response to my problem and this has taken too long. I filed a claim with customer service(#8015494) but they are telling me it will be another week before anyone even contacts me and meanwhile my car sits in the Round Rock Hyndai Collision center. I have asked several people for the regional manager for Hyndai here in Austin and no one will give me a name or contact info. Sorry Hyndai I love my Santa Fe but when I trade in my Santa Fe this fall it will be replaced with a Kia because they answer their phones at the service dept and their GM is much easier to get in contact with.

Paul C. is the guy to deal with at RR Hyundai. He was polite, courteous, friendly, and easy going. The test drive was nice, and he asked me where I wanted to go. We tested all types of roads, and he explained most of the features on the Santa Fe 2.0T 2013. Sweet ride! Afterwards, he gave me a price. I countered with another dealerships price and he met it. I took the car home over the weekend while the finance guy worked on getting me the best rate...and they honestly did. I compared other lenders and ended up financing throug RRH. The paperwork was quick and painless...and...you should see their service department. It is spotless. You can tell Penske takes care of his people and they take pride in their work. Thank you Round Rock Hyundai! I love my new Santa Fe!

A Caricature of a Dealership

Do you understand math? If so, then the folks at Round Rock Hyundai ("RRH") probably won't like you. I recently visited RRH to shop for a new Santa Fe 2.0T. The test drive went well, and we moved on to the "negotiations." Use of quotes here are deliberate since it quickly became apparent that we weren't negotiating anything. While attempting to settle on the final price of the vehicle, the salesman's pitch was fixated on monthly payments. I would say I wanted a base model for $27k, for example, and he would counter with "What do you want your monthly payment to be?" In other words, while most people start the car puchasing process organically (pick car model, settle on price, discuss interest rates for financing, and compute the monthly payment based on that rather simple and logical equation), THIS salesman chose to do it backward. I have never seen anything like it. It was so desperately hopeful and bizarre that it was honestly the most insulting business exchange I have ever had. If you visit ANY car dealership, and the first thing they ask you is what you want your monthly payment to be, walk out immediately and never return. Why? Because of the aforementioned concept of "math." If a $500 monthly car payment is the top of your comfort range, that's your business. Everyone has a maximum amount they can afford based on income, lifestyle, and various other factors. Unless you are trying to goad the salesman (*cough*), however, keep it to yourself. By beginning the negotiation there you are effectively telling them that ANY price is fine, so long as they can massage the numbers into that range. Can the Santa Fe be had for $27,500 out the door? It doesn't matter, because the folks at RRH are about to offer it to you for $500 a month for only 73 months! That's what you wanted, right? A $500 a month car payment? Well there you go! Unfortunately for you, $500 a month over 73 months works out to $36,500 for a small Korean car with limited options. At first I thought the gentleman was kidding when he led off with that approach. No professional car salesman had ever offered me a base model car for the price of a fully loaded model before, while attempting to pass it off as some kind of financial favor. ("Look what I did for you! I kept your monthly payment within your maximum comfortable range!") So I laughed and asked him to continue. Make me a deal, Mr. Salesman! I guess if you throw enough "mud" at the wall, some of it will stick eventually and this guy just wants to win the professional lottery. (I can't blame him, but I can write a review about the experience.) This approach could not possibly have worked on anyone, ever, but I couldn't help but wonder if it had. When I stopped the salesman's "negotiations" and pulled out my iPhone's calculator function to show him what 500x73 worked out to, he attempted to shrug it off as a cost of doing business. "Sir, you will always pay extra when you finance." What was the interest rate on that loan, though? We hadn't even discussed that yet, so how could we have possibly arrived at a final payment? "You wanted $500 a month and I got you that!" Much further, confusing discussion ensued, and I ultimately got the salesman to quote $29k as the actual sales price for the Santa Fe, rather than starting at the end and working his way backward to it. He wouldn't budge from $29k. It only took about a half hour for him to say that. Now then, let's talk about my trade for a second and try to get this sideshow back on track. Blue Book on my prior vehicle was $16,000 for a dealer trade. I did the research, assessed it fairly, and even had Carmax print out an offer for it. I didn't tell him that though, I just told him I wanted $16,500 for it. He proceeded to tell me that I was mistaken, that Blue Book value is wildly subjective (in all fairness people DO tend to overvalue their cars) and that the actual value of my vehicle was nowhere near that amount. He ultimately offered $12,500. This is actually where I started to get angry. Not before, when he asked me to pay $10,000 more for the new car (base model) than anyone who isn't insane ever would, but rather when he told me he would give me $3,500 less than dealer trade in value on my current car. It's almost as though I had personified that car after years of ownership, and now he was insulting a close friend of mine. I held fast to my demand, and that's when my car buying experience at RRH effectively came to an end. The salesman got impatient and left, and a manager came in and asked me what they could do to sell me a car that day. I reiterated my numbers, and he shook my hand and bid me farewell. No negotiation, no attempt whatsoever and coming to a logical conclusion. And now for the closing of my story. After my experience at RRH I went to South Point Hyundai ("SPH") instead. Exact same intent: to trade in my car for a Santa Fe 2.0T. The salesman at SPH valued my trade in on the spot at $16k. They sold me the 2.0T I wanted for $26,000. I was in an out in an hour and a half. RRH: $12,500 for my trade, $29,000 for the Santa Fe 2.0T. Margin of $16,500. SPH: $16,000 for my trade, $26,000 for the Sante Fe 2.0T. Margin of $9,000. $7,500 is not only a huge difference, but the salesman at SPH never tried any bizarre sales tactics or financial cornholing. You owe it to yourself to shop around before settling on Round Rock Hyundai.

Finding Service After Moving to Cedar Park

After moving from Houston to Cedar Park in 2011 we sought out a Hyundai dealership to handle our maintenance and repair needs. The service staff at Round Rock Hyundai were very friendly and helpful when first contacted. On taking in our 2006 Sonata for routine maintenance the service department infomred us that the Transmission and cooling system really should be drained, cleaned and recharged to maintain best performance. We approved and all services were completed in just a few hours. On a hot day in July 2012 the AC stopped working we took the Sonata straight to Round Rock Hyundai and they verified that the AC had some parts that had failed. This would be handled by the warranty, but they would not have parts needed for a day or 3. They provided us with a rental car AT NO CHARGE while they worked on ours. We love this dealership and highly recommend it to other Hyundai owners.

What service should look like everywhere

I had a problem with my Touring and called the shop. Got an immediate appointment and dropped by an hour later. I was quoted a very fair price for the replacement of the battery which was done while I waited. When I went to pay the already agreed upon price I was told the warranty covered it, here's your ticket for the (no charge) work, have a great day. Everyone I dealt with was polite, professional, and smiling. Other dealers take note: attitude is everything! I cannot recommend this shop highly enough. The best indicator of a well run shop is that year after year the same staff is still there. And still smiling and doing a great job. Definitely 5 stars in my book.

A very pleasant experience

The sales staff had a 'bend-over-backward' attitude. I was treated respectfully, and the salesman and staff knew their product even though the 2011 Sonata was brand new to them. I traded a Toyota Avalon for a new Sonata. Toyota misquoted the payoff to Round Rock Hyundai, a fact Hyundai did not realize until the sale was inked. Round Rock Hyundai absorbed the $750 misquote (Toyota refused to relent on their error). I would definitely recommend the dealership even though they are 25 miles distant from me.

Great Experience

I recently purchased two 2011 sonatas from Round Rock Hyundai and it was the least painful car buying experience I've ever had, in fact it was extremely easy. Aaron was my salesperson and couldn't have been better, he never called and harassed me wondering when I was coming back in or anything (took about two weeks before I settled on this dealership). He listened to what I wanted/needed and took it at my pace. We settled on what I feel was a fair price and I drove my sonata limited off the lot 2 hours after arriving. The second car was actually for my sister who lives about 4 hours away, Aaron drove the car to her and spent a while covering all aspects of the car and how to use all of the cool stuff (keyless entry, bluetooth calling, etc...). As long as Aaron is with Round Rock Hyundai and I if am in the market for another hyundai I will always buy from them. Oh, and I recommend them/him to everyone I know.

Round Rock Hyundai is the BEST place to buy a car. The salesperson, "Charles" was the most patient person every. I asked lots and lots of questions and he answered every one and asked for assistant if he wasn't sure!!!! Jason the car dealer manager is the BEST!!!! I told him what I wanted and he made it happen!!!! I did not feel pressured to do anything CRAZY and I felt like I go the best deal....! After driving the same vehicle for 8 years, buying a new car to me was going to be a hassle...! Not at this dealership! Anyone looking for a vehicle with all the bells and whistles, for a price that is worth the actual car and for a warranty that leaves you saying WOW...! This is the car and Round Rock Hyundai is the PLACE...! Please check out this guys ask for Charles and he will treat you right...! Friendly, easy to deal with

I have bought three Hyundai from this dealer, and have had good experiences each time. One of the first things that struck me is that over the years, you see the same folks working there, the sign of a good operation that must take care of it's employees. And if the employees are happy, chances are they will want to make you happy too. Very low pressure dealer. We made several trips to drive different models before we found the one we liked. Never once did I hear "What will it take to get your business today?" or "let's run some numbers here and get you into your new car!", both unfortunately common phrases heard at other dealers around here. The key task of the salesman was to show the features of each model, ask what features we felt we needed, which were nice but not necessary, and which we flat didn't want. He then showed each trim level, what features were included, and what optional features were available based on our requirements. The guy actually knew his product, as a salesman should. We were treated very respectfully, and never felt like we were the raw meat in a shark tank. Our trade in had some body damage and the deduction in value was right in line with the three appraisals I had done before bringing it in. Most importantly, the first sunny day after a week of rain, we noticed a scuff down low on the front bumper, one that would require paint work. Knowing this could have been overlooked in makeready, but also that we had been driving the car for a week, my wife took the car in and showed it to the GM. I had told her that where it was, it could have been there before, or it could have been nudged in a parking lot, we had no proof either way. The GM took one look at it, claimed it was transport damage, called up a free loaner, and told wife it would be ready in two days. Which it was, and done perfectly, and at zero cost to us. When everyone has the same product, service is what will keep me coming back. Though not used often, the service department has the same guys working there as when I bought my first Hyndai in 2002. And when I have used them for service, they have never come up with "stuff" that is not necessary. I dropped one dealership when they came up with over $1,000 worth of "needed work" on a vehicle in perfect running condition.

Extremely [violative content deleted] GM. Sells items that don't even exist on the car.

According to the window sticker on the vehicle, the Veracruz we purchased supposedly included the Classic Hyundai "Appearance Package". This package is said to contain the following items: Paint Sealant (w/ 3 Year Warranty), Fabric Sealant (w/ 3 Year Warranty), Door Edge Guards, Fender Wheel Trim, and Custom Pin Stripe. This "Appearance Package" was included for a cost of $895.00. Initially we suspected the appearance package of not being added to the vehicle as was shown on the sticker. We asked Classic Hyundai about this and we were initially told by their general manager, Mike Williams, that nothing needed to be done, that the 3 year warranty on it would actually cover these items. Not accepting that answer, we asked again, and were told "I know what you paid for the car, and you didn't pay for it." We were also chased off of the property finalizing this communication. At this point, we were left with no other alternative but to file a complaint. The documentation (window stickers) show that these items were already added to the vehicle prior to the purchase. But inspections by another dealer and tests have provided sufficient proof that neither of these items have been added to the vehicle. The dealer refuses to honor this appearance package and neither the paint sealant nor the fabric sealant has been applied to the car. During the purchase process, the salesman told us that the Veracruz had a $1000 discount off the retail price. This was an error, yet Mr. Williams agreed to honor the discount quoted. Mr. Williams is now using this discount to try and substantiate his claim that we did not pay for the "Appearance Package". In addition, the Hyundai service technicians at another dealership have no idea what "Fender Wheel Trim" is, that was supposed to be included. The trimming on the wheel well area are part of the standard road armor equipment installed from the factory on all Veracruz vehicles. Upon arriving at our residence the night of the vehicle purchase we discovered a 4 inch cut in the carpet on the 3rd row seat back. When we brought this matter to their attention, the service center tried to hide the fact that had been used for other than test drive purposes. The issue was not resolved immediately as they first tried to claim that we were responsible for the damage, then later attempted to classify the damage as a factory defect. In further discussions with Mr. Williams, he inadvertently made it known that the vehicle was used for rental and demo purposes -- not just test drives. It is our understanding that this violates the rule of full disclosure in the sale of a new vehicle. We filed a BBB complaint with this dealership asking for a refund or for the paint and fabric sealant to be put onto the vehicle, which was met with disdain from the dealership. To this date this issues have not been resolved in any fashion. Do not do business with this dealership if you can avoid it. I live less than 4 miles from this dealer and will drive 25 miles to another dealer to get my vehicle serviced.

Good experience

Purchased a 2007 Hyundai Veracruz from Classic and had an all-around good experience. Went through the internet department, salesman was very knowledgeable, friendly, and not pushy. He spent a lot of time with us, test drove a veracruz and a highlander (in a cold rain) and explained the vehicles well. Made a fair deal and we are very happy with the vehicle. Would do business with them again!
