Wasting my time

by DougKl on 12/02/2012

I made a trip up to see a specific vehicle which I was assured was there. It was not. I am disgusted that they are willing to waste my time in the hopes that I will fall for their tricks.

Phil is a rock star!

by mouse2508 on 06/21/2012

Phil handled our transaction efficiently, but we did not feel rushed. He answered our many questions, guided us through the features on the new vehicle from safety to technology, as well as accompanied us each step of way through out the purchase process. By FAR one of the BEST new car buying experinces EVER, and I will DEFINITELY buy my next vehicle from Phil!!!

Great experience--highly recommend!

by wan1 on 05/07/2012

We bought a Tacoma here last week and had a good buying experience! Dustin, our sales guy, was excellent and made the whole process quick and easy. We even got more for our trade in than I expected, which was a nice surprise. All in all, I highly recommend Dustin and Texas Toyota of Grapevine.

Best Service Ever..

by carlosarturo1 on 05/06/2012

This guys are working under new management for the last few months. I went there with my wife and 3 kids and Matt Scott the Internet Sales Manager was the best Car Sales guy ever. He did not play games, listened and care for our needs and really delivered in a quick and honest manner. I hate going to dealerships but Matt change my whole perception--Great Service.

my experience yesterday in Grapevine

by emoerbe on 02/08/2012

This was the most pleasant and positive experience I have ever had buying a car. After selecting my specs through Edmunds, I was first contacted by an internet sales person and then the sales manager in Grapevine promptly afterward. Dustin called me by phone and told me he would show me his invoice cost and discount from there, which he did, and then he offered me more than any other dealer for my trade-in. I drove home in the new Camry, which is equipped to my specifications, and I am very pleased and satisfied with the total experience. I have bought a Mazda, two Toyotas and three Lexus sedans over the past 20 years, and this experience yesterday with Toyota of Grapevine ranks at the very top and best of all. Ed

Sale people has no respect

by rayray123 on 11/01/2011

Most people do not enjoy the car buying experience. Probably because the tatics they use are so insulting. Toyota of Grapevine tops it all. After gotten a price from different dealerships, Toyota of Grapevine called me. I gave the sale person the price I want and he said I need to go in person for make the price work. Typical get the foot in the door first strategy. But they are only 10 minutes away so why not. Turns out they are the most expensive of all. On top, the sale people insulted me by saying there is no way I could have gotten cheaper even after I showed them the quotes from other dealerships. Talk about denial. Not happy but life moves on. Went home got ready to the other dealership. A new sale person from Grapevine called me back. He apologized and said he agreed with the price. Hope I would give them a second chance. I had my doubt but they are on the way to the dealership anyway. This one was even worse. He played a nice guy at first. Wasted 30 minutes and still not willing to go by the price we agreed on. He turn urgly really quick. So shame on me for letting him sucker me back. At the end, got the car from Toyota of Dallas. If you are interested on buying a Toyota, I will be happy to share who I bought it from since I am sure experience various from saleman to saleman. Based on other feedback, Toyota of Grapevine is definitely not the first choice. Today, they did not loose me as a customer but everyone I know now and in the future. Hmmm. The lowest score is one star. If possible, I would gave them zero.

Poor Service - Lies, Lies, Lies

by portertd on 10/19/2011

Do not buy here if you value your time and expect customer service. During the sales process I waited for 45 minutes while the sales people had a sales meeting. Only when I threatened to leave did they come out and give me a quote. When asked if they could offer me a competing loan quote, I said no, do not do so and do not submit a query. They did so anyway and pressed me for a long time to g with their offer. Because I waited so long, they offered a free fill up and 5 additional oil changes beyond those included in the Toyota Care I purchased. When I went to redeem the fill-up, I was told that they would not honor their commitment. I am now complaining to the BBB.

Wonderful Experience - Highly recommended

by summer123 on 09/29/2011

I have been looking for the perfect car for my wife for several months now and I finally a dealership that really cares - Texas Toyota of Grapevine! I went up to the dealership on a Saturday afternoon where I was greated by Mr. Fernando Young. He was very attentive to what we did and did not want and showed me several different options. He had a great personality, not the typical pushy salesman, spent a lot of time explaining different cars, options, etc. I have visted numerous dealerships in my search of the perfect car, and Mr. Young was byfar the most professional and courteous person I have dealt with. I also had the honor of meeting his boss, Dustin who was also just as wonderful as Mr. Young. My wife and I drove out of there that day with her Toyota Highlander and we could not be happier. Wonderful car, Wonderful price.... Texas Toyota of Grapevine is highly recommended!! Give them a shot, you will not be dissapointed! Thank you Fernando and Dustin!

Avoid this Dealership if you want honesty

by criss7 on 04/18/2011

Here's what happened: I reached out to a few dealerships requesting a price quote on a Highlander. I received a call from Toyota of Grapevine insisting "they would beat any other dealer by $500. Not necessary I said, I did want them to honor Edmunds TMV. They agreed even before I went in. I went in, test drove a few cars, and left them with my trade in so they could evaluate it. They did and came back with a value that worked. We were ready to do the deal. We went online to Edmunds and began to build the vehicle and obtain the TMV. They then proceeded to follow the same shoddy sales playbook that others have experienced - I was so happy I had logged onto Edmunds and began reading the dealer reviews. The sales rep came back and explained that the TMV was in fact $1,000 under their cost and we needed to factor those in. He then moved to would we split the difference, or would I pay $500 above TMV. What happened to "we will honor the Edmunds TMV?" I asked. They then sent out their [violative content deleted] internet sales manager to explain that there are marketing and advertising costs that Edmunds doesn't factor in. He was still sputtering on like [violative content deleted] while I walked out. I was so annoyed to be fed this line after I had been so up front with them. It just felt like I was dealing with substandard beings. I immediately went to Don Davis, told them the price I wanted, they sent me a confirmation that they could do it via email, took 2 hours to evaluate my trade in (there was some damage to it) and after they gave me a completely fair price we came to an agreement. No added fees, no surprises, everything disclosed up front. That's the way to do business.

Avoid this dealership at all costs!

by brooke1956 on 02/19/2011

Everyone I worked with at this dealership was very friendly, courteous and smiling the whole time while they knifed me in the back. I walked into the dealership on a Saturday and test drove a Scion Xa that had just come in on a trade-in that day. It rattled badly and I had reservations about buying a car that had been driven so hard. I was pressured into turning over my car to the dealership "so the auctioner could appraise it on Monday". This was not something I planned to do but before I knew it, aI was hurredly loading all my car stuff into bags and I was in a loaner car. The dealership had 3 whole days to fix up the used Scion Xa I was supposed to buy. When I returned the following Wednesday, I test drove the Xa again and it still rattled. The salesman said it was probably just loose battery cables and he would fix this while I signed the paperwork. I met with the finance manager (who told me he was going to "throw in" an extended warranty (which I later learned would have cost me $2,300). He also told me that he couldn't do the monthly payment that the sales manager and I had agreed upon. He said that salesmen are always telling customers things that can't be done. I guess it is a pretty effective sales tactic. It got me into the finance office. Anyway, despite the growing knot in my stomach, I signed off on the deal. I wasn't even out of the parking lot when this "certified Toyota" began clanking like a tin can! Fortunately, I knew a good auto repair shop in the area and headed over there immediately. One mechanic test drove the car and two others inspected it. The result? A big thumbs down: rust in the engine compartment, possibly a loose axle and messed up power steering I called the dealership and said I was bringing it back less than 1/2 hour after I bought it. To their credit, they voided the contract. I got my car back and drove away. The next day I realized the dealership had removed my license plates! I was driving around with no license plates. I called them multiple times but was never able to get my plates back. This dealership was a huge waste of my time and several lies were told to me during this very irritating transaction. I will never set foot in Toyota of Grapevine again. When I explained this bad experience to salesmen at two other dealerships, they just nodded their heads and told me horror stories about Toyota of Grapevine. This dealership is apparently run by a corporation and their employees don't really care about reputation. Their location brings in lots of new prospects who don't know about the bad reputation of this dealership. The motto of Toyota of Grapevine appears to be this: "Smile while you lie, say anything to make the sale, don't worry about one upset customer because it is a numbers game". My advice: Look for a family-run dealership that actually cares about its reputation and customer service....

Same bad experience as the others here

by daytona8 on 02/01/2011

Folks, the other reviewers were not joking. I got the old bait & switch routine also. I first tried to get an email quote. I said I'll have to drive a long way from Garland to Grapevine and before I come out, do you have a very specific model and color sitting on your lot and if so, what price can you take for it. He said he did and he would take X amount. When I got there, that car was not on the lot. There was a slightly different car and it was $2,000 extra (for leather seats I did not want). He and his Mgr. tried to get me to pay the extra $2,000 and we argued for a while. I showed him my email saying he had a certain model for X amount, which no longer existed. He asked if I was calling him dishonest. I said I don't know...I just met you guys but that has been my experience so far. Long story short...I finally agreed to pay $500 extra for the leather seats then 5-10 minutes later someone came by and said the car was now gone (just sold or something). They don't seem to even have a way to hold a car while you're dealing with them. I was so hacked off but actually relieved to just get out of that place without giving them my money! At least they spent almost three hours with me that they could not spend ripping someone else off! I could hear another family in the next cube arguing with the salesmen about a similar problem. I heard the salesman raise his voice at the father and say "just sign the thing, will you?.

Exceptionally courteous, and professional

by sektado on 12/20/2010

Wesley Wells was the most polite customer service sales person that my husband and I have ever encountered in such a long time… not pushy at all, very understanding to out needs and her really listened to what we wanted and what we could afford. Very professional at all times. Soto in the finance department was very understanding and very helpful to our needs we had on the financial side of the transaction. We at one pont met Mel’s supervisor- Dustin who was exceptionally courteous, and professional in helping us to make out transaction a smooth and painless one. We will be loyal to Texas Toyota in the future upon serving our vehicle and in future purchases to come.

[violative content deleted]

by tundradriver on 10/02/2010

I took my pickup for a 40,000 service and was quoted $214. I normally pay around $100 at a different delaership. I asked why the cost was so high for a 40k service and was told it was a major service and some of the fluids would need to be flushed. After having the work done and bringing my vehicle home I looked at the service manual. I find the flushing of the fluids is NOT part of the regular 40k service. I was tricked in to thinking it was required, in fact it was just an up-sell of a cash making service. I feel tricked and cheated. I will take my pickup to Fort Worth Toyota instead where they are honest people. Avoid this dealership, they are dishonest.

Avoid Texas Toyota Scion of Grapevine at all costs. Really.

by gr8dane714 on 02/10/2010

This dealership is nothing less than a band of [violative content deleted], and the owner sits right on top of the pile. I got took and I got took good. I've been buying cars since the early seventies, and haven't seen a dealership conduct itself in such an unsavory manor before or since this regrettable experience. Do yourself a favor...read through the other reviews posted here and then go on down the road a piece to buy yourself a Toyota.

Doesn't look like things have changed at this dealership.

by hanster on 01/09/2010

Used car sales believes in the old bait and switch routine amongst other dishonest tactics then tries to label you disrespectful if you call them out on it. It appears from the other reviews that I'm not the only one to get this treatment. The 45 minutes we spent there was akin to stepping on a mound of fire ants. Fortunately, we abruptly left this dealership and bought a car elsewhere without hassle. There are too many good places in the Dallas area to buy cars. The office spaces are very crummy as well and gave me the feeling of being in a sweat shop. Avoid this one at all costs.

Dishonest Sales Tactics

by andreaphaedra on 10/27/2009

I talked on the phone to a salesperson, and we agreed on a price for a specific used car I wanted. I took a test drive, and went to the office to buy the car. At that time a manager (not the sales man) came in with a sales contract showing a $400 increase in price. The manager said they made a mistake and the price was $400 more than was originally agreed upon over the phone. He said they made a mistake and they couldn't sell the car for less. After a long discussion, I agreed on the extra $400 increase, but asked that the $150 charge for paperwork be waived since I was paying cash. Then a third manager came in a few minutes later, and he said there had been another mistake, and they upped the price another $400 making a total increase of $800. A third manager came in after that to explain about the mistake, but said the price would stay the $800 extra from the original price I was quoted. Before leaving I was told in confidence that the General Manager probably didn't want to sell me the car, since he could get more money for it than what I was quoted. At that point I walked out.

Typical Old School Sexist Treatment of Women Customers

by unbelievable2 on 03/10/2009

The out-dated, [violative content deleted] sales approach I experienced at this dealership was absolutely insulting and unacceptable. After an enjoyable test drive of a great car, the salesman and I returned to the dealership where the sales manager swooped in for the kill and sent the salesman away with a dismissive "you can go now." Very uncomfortable and unnecessary. The sales manager then proceeded to flirt, tell me that he was single, all the places he liked to go to, how Grapevine was boring and dull, and capped off his "pitch" by saying, "You should let me take you out." Are you kidding me? I was told that if I said that I was not going to trade in my vehicle, I could not change my mind later after a price was agreed upon for the purchase of the new car. There was an air of hostility in the dealership, with one customer demanding to see the manager because he couldn't get the keys to his car back. I loved the car, but will NOT purchase from this dealership. Way to perpetuate the [violative content deleted] car salesman stereotype, Toyota of Grapevine.

I DO NOT TRUST this service department!!!

by nonfiction on 06/22/2008

Service at this dealership lacks integrity. I was told an expensive part on my car needed to be replaced because it was bad. Truth is, it had just been replaced and there was nothing wrong with it. I do not trust this dealership. I will never go to this dealership again.

Offensive Sales people

by jhoaglind on 12/24/2007

I have visited this dealership twice in the last few years and have been turned off each and every time. The last time I was there was early ' 07 and the sales person was rude, obnoxious, and overall offensive. He tried to belittle me, and I guess thought I was an idiot. I ended up getting a F150 Supercrew at a much cheaper price than the Tacoma. In fact the salesperson sent me an e-mail and had capitalized the F and O in Ford and I am assuming he was saying [violative content deleted]? He said my truck wont last long and will fall apart. Well so far Im happy with it and I dont keep cars long enough anyways. I have decided to never return to this dealer and in fact to steer clear of Toyota all together. I would strongly recommend going elsewhere for your Toyota experience.
