Best Car Buying Experience

During my lifetime, I have purchased many cars from various dealerships, however, Hiley Subaru is by far my best experience to date. It started with the Salesman, continued with the Tech Rep and all others with whom I had contact. I would recommend this team to anyone considering the purchaser of a Subaru.

Great service

Great service and very friendly associates! They found a couple items that needed repair under warranty and fixed at no charge that I didn't know were going bad. One was a battery and two rear struts that they found during the car inspection.

Service at Hiley Subaru

2013 Subaru towed to Hiley with electrical failure. I should not need the wiring harness replaced at 68,000 miles, but I did. For the most part, the dealership, especially Lauren, kept me apprised of what was going on. When I was scheduled to receive my car back, it was delayed two (2) days because a technician HIT a pole at the dealership in my car. This was the second time that this happened in my last two visits at the dealership. Both times the damage was minor, but in same place on the vehicle. Red dents is very noticeable on an Ice Silver Subaru. When it happened the first time, they did not even acknowledge the damage, until I pointed out when I received my car back from an oil change. In addition, they left two lug nuts off on another previous visit. At least, I have to say Hiley did communicate better with me about what was going on with my vehicle, especially Lauren who was very good. If it was not for this, I would have ranked them even lower.

I found the vehicle I wanted at Hiley - a Subaru Outback and negotiated a price with a salesman there. The salesman was very deceptive on the content of the vehicle and the MSRP of the vehicle. I asked several times for the sticker or invoice and have never received either one.

Better off buying from elsewhere

The first time I spoke with this salesman on negotiating a price, he asked assertively why I wouldn't take his first offer because its better than the price where I am from and I simply said I wanted it lower. I declined at first because I felt pressured but later on decided to buy from him when he called me back and was able to get an approved lower price. Later on, I was told that there was a key with lock buttons that belonged to me and it is on its way to me in the mail. When I did receive it, I explained that the key was straight edged which would not fit in my car. He wasn't sure about why it was like that and asked for me to mail it back. About two months later of no updates, I called him and He told me the key was made like that by the manufacturer and that he will send it back to me. He collected my VIN information so the key is programmed and all I needed to do was get the shipped car key cut like my car key at my local dealership. Upon doing that, I realized that the buttons on my key didn't work, so I called him about it and he told me I would need to have it programmed here locally. I would have to pay for the programming and mail the receipt to get reimbursed for the fee and shipping by Hiley. I expressed my frustrations with him and he apologized for it all, but it didn't seem genuine. He told me when I pass by in fort worth I can get my car detailed or receive freebies. After a few days that I have mail expressed the key receipt, I call him to see if it was received and he said he is sick. After a week of mailing it, I'm told the reimbursement is on the way. Two weeks later, I check up with him on when exactly should I receive it and he doesn't know. So I call the accounting department and was told that it was sent three days ago and that the reimbursement amount was only the fee, not the shipping included. Finally I talked with the manager, Jeff, to tell him this issue and expressed my frustrating experience with the salesman. He was able to have my reimbursement for the shipping mailed to me, however he did not addressed or followed up with my concerns with Drew. In conclusion, I do not recommend this dealership due to not feeling like a valued customer after having bought my car. I would have been better off buying from my local dealership from friendly, charismatic salesmen than the Hiley Dealership regardless of price.

Fantastic dealership.Eric J. is AWESOME Ubelievable Price on 14 BRZ

Finally, I figured it couldn't hurt to get a quote, so I contacted Eric J. Right from the start I was impressed with the way that Eric Jacobson laid out all the numbers for me. As I mentioned, I had already done a lot of research, so I knew that Eric J. was putting everything on the table in a way that no local dealership had done for me. The deal he offered was excellent, far better than anything I could get locally. Still though, It is saying a lot to say that Eric J. made me feel comfortable enough to overcome those fears about buying out-of-town for the first time. Now, with the process over and done with, and a beautiful NEW 2014 Subaru Brz Limited Automatic sitting in my driveway, I can say that it might not be the fastest way to buy a car, but if you can wait for delivery, then this is absolutely the way to go! Not only was the car-buying process smooth and easy, and the deal unbeatable, but having my car delivered from Houston ,Texas to Silsbee,Texas where I work (M-F 8-5 ) was icing on the cake.He drove 6Hrs+ and 400Miles from Fort,Worth to bring my new car at my job. I will definitely recommend Eric J. to any of my friends or family who are even thinking about buying a Subaru! I waited almost a year to buy a Subaru BRZ because, 1) the dealerships in my area were not willing to deal on price, (many wanting MSRP+$2000 or more), and, 2) I dreaded the whole car-buying process of dealing with salespeople, sales managers, finance departments, etc. Fortunately, during this time I did a lot of research on the ft86club forums and through these forums learned of Hiley Subaru in Fort Worth, Texas Fantastic dealership. Eric J. is very straight forward and provides a completely different dealership experience. He gave me a price that was truly unbelievable right off the bat and worked with me every step of the way through the process. He has definitely gone above and beyond what I could have ever expected. This guy even replies to texts in the middle of the night. Detail oriented and checks in to see that everything is going good. If you want a BRZ, Eric J. is your guy. Chris D. also very friendly and just as helpful as Eric J. Absolutely no trouble, paperwork was simple. Finally, this dealership does not pressure you at all for extras. They'll inform you about it, but they never push the sale which makes the experience so much more comfortable. [contact info removed]

First, I would like to commend the salesman Paul Ackel. I was not even in the mood to purchase a Subaru until he showed me the great safety features offered. I have been a loyal Toyota and Honda patron for 30 years and I had every intention of purchasing a new car from them. Paul had a killer deal on a new base Forester that my husband wanted. We performed exhaustive research on every available website and test drove numerous vehicles. I really wanted the Camry Hybrid LE, but found the internet dealers did not want to party. Despite claims that they would send prices via internet, I found a hugh variance in what constitutes MRSP. I asked Paul to send an OTD quote after test driving the Forester and he did just that. I was pleased with the ease of the exchange and we decided to purchase the vehicle. I was not prepared for all of the "extras placed on the form for finance stuff"--you know all of that has been covered in these Forums. I was quite upset over the discrepency and told the Financer that I did not want the car that badly and would be ok with getting a different one. He called the Manager,Mark Clark and he came over and said they would "honor the deal , but take it out of Paul's pay'. Well, this distressed me even more because the main reason I came back to this dealer was because Paul was so transparent and sincere in his salesmanship. I told them that I did not need to purchase this vehicle and they could have it back because I did not wish to have Paul's paycut on my conscience. End of story, I purchased the Forester for $20,581 +TTL for my husband. The reason my hubbie wanted the Forester is because of the great space for for him and Me. He is 6'3 and I am only 5'3 and the Forester was the only vehicle that fit both of our height requirements. P.S. I also purchased a used Highlander Hybrid for my daughter earlier in the day via Cargurus and had no trouble at all using the internet pricing.
