annoying experience

by amirahsmom on 02/17/2024

Most annoying dealer. the salesman said 3 oil changes in a year... not true.. 1 oil change. Had to sit through a long annoying insurance sales pitch while waiting for our insurance card to be sent to them so they could give it to us... never got it. They put the wrong leinholder on my insurance even though I told the finance guy they did that they didn't correct it... still had beer cans in a compartment in the bed when I picked it up. Took a month post sale to get a copy of the carfax requested when we put a deposit on the truck, and multiple requests. didn't get the payment info in time to make the 1st payment... salesman said... no problem... they will give you a grace period... then sent a snap of a google address for the bank... which was of course wrong.. I had to contact the bank... Then they had put my phone number in as a house number... or as I find out trying to make payment number 2... a wrong number... so I couldn't get my account set up online and had to pay over the phone... month 2 I am trying to set up the account and still can't do it cause they have the wrong phone number entered... everything has been a pain and they are less than helpful.

Terrible Service During a Pandemic

by Jeremy H on 11/25/2020

I'm very disappointed with the customer service experience here with the SERVICE department. After a covid related quarantine, we had to cancel appointments for the car seats being cleaned (which was included in a 1 year warranty). I spoke to the team there and they agreed I should cancel my appointment given the exposure. I rescheduled at that same time but shared it was after the year mark, which they knew when we scheduled the appointment. Alyssa said it would be okay since after we spoke. I dropped off the car at 9:30 AM today. They call at 1:45 pm to share that it is past the warranty and they will not honor doing it "because of the contract". This is very disappointing on numerous levels. I have two kids under 2 years old. The seats definitely needed attention which was why I was excited about this warranty (I had used it before and they did a fantastic job!). The disappointing part comes where I had 2 covid exposures and quarantines (I'm in healthcare!) where I needed to reschedule. Alyssa said given the circumstance they would honor it.. when I brought it in, "it was extreme". It wasn't because it was extreme they wouldn't do it, but rather because it was past the warranty. In fact, the cash price they quoted was $110. I asked if there was anything they can do, we split the difference and they only do the front, I pay for the back. They adamantly shared that it is now outside the warranty and they would not honor it or do anything. I asked if I came in while quarantined if I could have had it covered, they said yes. Kaitlin asked if I write a review that I state all the facts. 1. I was brought in under false pretenses. They scheduled this appointment KNOWING I was outside of my warranty 2. The car seats do need to be cleaned because we have two kids under 2... they did this exact clean before ~ 6months ago without any questions/comments and it was beautiful (they did a great job!)! 3. After I drove 30 minutes there, got child care and dropped it off at 9:30 AM, they called at 1:45 PM to share this news. At this point, she offered me to call the warranty place and ask them if they would give me an extension. THEN I would need to reschedule another appointment. This should have been shared with me BEFORE the appointment was initially scheduled. It is just disappointing that they would seemingly rather someone come in during a quarantine just to stay within warranty. It is also disappointing that they wouldn't be up front about this. It took scheduling a follow-up for JUST this cleaning then after it's dropped off and child care is arranged, that they do not honor it and say I have to call a warranty company. We've gotten cars here for over 15 years (over 6 cars!). This will be our last.

Typical dealerships. And everything that goes with it

by GA on 10/14/2020

I tried to buy a used car, had enough contact with salesperson to at least i was serious in purchasing. Salesman was some Zach or something. I guess he assumed people do not work and is impossible to leave a message that the car might be sold soon. Payments are a click away these days But at the end of the day. Its the same old car dealership cliche. You just cant trust em, and even more that same saying for used car salesman. But whatevs.

Be Careful

by carguy1239 on 02/16/2016

Part 1 These guys seemed very aggressive, I had to listen to a group of 3 salesmen badger this poor women into buying her new car when all she wanted to do was wait until Monday so she could get a second opinion on that major financial decision. I can only imagine quite a few car loans from milham go belly up. Part 2 There was a screaming match in the finance department between two employees. Part 3 I did not reach an agreement with the salesmen. I was looking at used subaru forester listed at 5995 before fees. Sales manager would not come down from that "premium" price and the car needed; a new set of tires, it was out of alignment, new rack and pinion, new spark plug tube seals, the oil was over filled a quart and a half by the milham service department. Before having it checked out by my mechanic he said it was his personal "friends" car and he had it under warranty. So of course he had fixed all the problems and did all of the preventative maintenance, which was clearly a lie. In summary, I would beware if car shopping at Milham.

Aggressive, Lies, Poor Communication, Terrible Dealer

by tdj5048 on 10/17/2015

Very aggressive dealership, sales manager also unfriendly and pushy. Told me their Autotrader web app was down in order to well undercut me on my trade-in so they could keep their truck at value and offer it up as such a good deal. Paperwork took well over 3 hours to figure out just to put in front of me to look at. Extra add ons to help pad the price up, maintenance contract also terrible deal for what you actually receive ($3000 contract doesn't even include synthetic oil). Truck had a dent on it that I did not see the day before, getting fixed locally led to them sending the reimbursement check to the wrong place, took way too long (approx 1 month). Communication was terrible, would never be able to reach my salesman or anyone that could actually help me with any of my needs (cancelling maintenance plans, reimbursement check, inquiry on information). Do not go to this dealership.

Very professional, Ask for Bill L.

by Mini_Cooper on 01/27/2014

My husband and I went there with our 2 year old daughter to purchase a Toyota Rav 4 and everyone was very friendly and professional. They even took off a few hundred dollars off our car to keep up with their competitors prices. During the process our daughter was getting a bit antsy but our sales rep was very kind and even got her a coloring book to keep her busy. I'm not sure about the other posters who gave low ratings but its best to see for yourself and be the judge before assuming your experience will be the same as theirs. My only complaint is how long the process took, but again everyone's situation is different.

Milham Toyota - Ask for Bill!

by peter1g on 09/19/2012

First of all – until my first visit to Milham Toyota on Sept. 14, 2012, I had nothing to do with this dealership nor did I know anyone there before the day I bought the RAV4. I went to Milham because I had read other good reviews about them and because their sales people do not work on commission, instead, they work on cars sold, which translates to a better price for the customer. I live in NYC, over 120 miles away, but I did not want to get a car from my area because for every 10,000 driven in NYC – it equals to 25,000 for a car driven in PA or NJ, all else being equal. Anyway, I was so impressed by them, that I am taking the time to write this review. My salesman was Bill S. What a real pleasure doing business with this man! Totally honest and upfront about everything. Very funny, knowledgeable and bright individual. We stopped short of exchanging family pictures; that’s how comfortable I felt dealing with him. When I was negotiating the price, never did he patronize me or called me nuts, although I am sure he thought he was dealing with one since I was trying to bring it down by over $2,000. Instead, he showed me other similar RAV4’s and what other dealers were asking for. He even gave me the car for 2 hours in order to try it alone and go have lunch! I paid for my lunch... Not sure if I should put this here but in the end, I got a really good deal of a pre-own, certified, 2011 RAV4 Sport with lots of extras for $500 less than the asking price plus, a $500.00 credit toward the purchase of 4 new tires, plus free dent/scratch repair for a full year! I should also mention his boss, Nick (can’t recall his last name) who also went out of his way for me. Don’t be surprised if you find Nick in the cubicle next to Bill’s – he is only trying to help Bill and speed things up… While waiting for the paperwork to be done, Bill had the service dept. completely detail the car again, had my cell phone setup/connected to the car's blue tooth system, filled up with gas and ready to go by the time the paperwork was done! That's what I call service! Bill, Nick and most everyone else I dealt with there – it was a real pleasure meeting you guys! THANKS! Please, do something about your coffee… Lol

Total Failure

by ph4nt0m7 on 04/15/2012

Walt, the service associate is [non-permissible content removed]. I wonder why this guy still works in this dealership. This guy runs down all the details of the charges quick but if you look closely on the receipt you are being charged with unexplainable charges. It takes you a long telephone call to have the charges be reversed. Very unprofessional with dealing with customers, explaining things quick so you miss out the details of the charges. I was able to reverse about 20% extra charge he placed on the receipt after a long haggle over the phone. I wonder how many customers he has duped. Watch out for this guy, if not the whole service and sales department. It's a total 'F' for this review. 'F' as in Fail. No bells and whistles. They should have placed an 'F' on the overall rating, a rate of 1 star is too much. I'm going to repost this to all review sites.

good experience

by eastondoc on 03/12/2012

I recently bought a new Scion from Milham and had a positive experience. They are a high volume dealership and Saturdays are very busy for them but they still provided me a polite and pleasant salesman who showed me two different vehicles, and then had my used car appraised with a very fair offer. I came back two days later to make a deposit and picked the car up a day afterwards in perfect condition. They have called me to be sure I was satisfied and have reviewed a minor problem I have had with my radio already. Overall, I am satisfied with my experience with Milham, as evidently, thousands of other customers are as well, as they sell several thousand cars annually

2012 Ford Focus - Tech Saavy Buyers Beware

by spbio on 08/16/2011

I bought my 2012 Ford Focus on May 27, 2011 from Milham Ford. The Brake, Antilock Brake system (ABS), Traction Control, Uphill Assist and other Safety systems on the car Failed within 30 days. I brought the car in to Milham for service on July 2 under the manufacturer's warranty. After 4 hours Milham Service said they did not have time to fix it that day and they did not offer a rental vehicle despite the serious problems with the Brake system on my new 2012 Ford Focus. Attempts to resolve the issue at the dealership level were a frustrating waste of time. Milham Ford staff treat Women customers in a condescending manner and do not take action when there is a problem. They resort to intimidating, rude tactics to encourage the customer to just go away rather than resolve the problems and honor the warranty. I spoke with Mr. Bob Bibeau, the Sales Manager at Milham Ford who had pressured me to buy the extended warranty and he stated there was nothing he could do. I spoke with Mr. Troy Long in Milham Ford Service and he offered to expedite the replacement part but this has not happened yet > 6 weeks later. I spoke with Mr. Kyle Wisner in Milham Ford Business Solutions and he was very rude and intimidating. He told me that there was "nothing they could do, they only sell the cars they do not manufacture them." I left numerous messages for Kurt "Tom" Koch, Milham Ford Managing Director but > 6 weeks later he still has not returned my calls. No wonder he uses an alias. The Milham Ford dealership staff refused to assist me in any way. They would not even provide me with the phone number for Ford Customer Care or offer to contact Ford Customer Care on my behalf . They repeatedly stated that there was nothing they could do for me. All my dealings with the management at Milham were with Men who were intimidating, aggressive and raised their voices, talked non stop and made it difficult for me to speak. The staff at Milham Ford were definnitely not respectful of Women customers and were exceptionally difficult to deal with. My experience with Milham Ford Customer service has been disgraceful. The 2012 Ford Focus is the worst car I have ever driven. It is outrageous that Ford Motor Company continues to market and sell this car to young tech saavy, first time car buyers despite the serious Safety problems with the BRAKE systems on this vehicle. Don't be Fooled by the advertisements for the 2012 Ford Focus. This car is not safe to drive and Ford does not know how to fix the problems with the Brakes on this new car. Tech saavy buyers Beware or you will have a Bad Case of Buyers Remorse.

worst service worst service staf

by dan205 on 12/30/2009

I would like to file an official complaint against a dealer for the way I was treated on December 19, 2009. To whom do I address my concerns? I had gone to my regular mechanic to get my oil changed. The night before, the check engine light had gone on as well as the VSC. When I had my oil changed, I had asked the mechanic to see what codes might come up as the check engine light was on. He did, and he explained that one had to do with some modulator thing (I am a teacher. I don't know much about engines.) on the top of the engine. He also said that he could not read the other code becuase I would have to go to a Toyato dealer as it is blocked. The dealer would be the only one who could acess the code. I called the dealer, Dick Milham in Easton, Pa., and was able to secure an appointment for 11am. I arrived at ten twenty, a bit early, checked in. The "greeter" came over and filled out a form. There was a charge for $99 on the form. I said what the [violative content deleted]. What is that for? He stated that it was the charge for them to find out what codes there were. I had already told them what the other mechanic said. They would charge me for doing the same exact thing that was already done. He referred, to what seem to be his boss, my concerns. Paul's boss, in a very sarcastic tone, asked me if I knew what the code meant. I told him that he could keep his sarcasm to himself. It took nearly an hour from that point for them to tell me that those codes came up again. Exactly what was written on the report from my personal mechanic. I told Paul that I did not trust this dealership based on past experiences. He seemed a bit surprised, and said that they would repair the car. He also stated at that time that it was still under warrenty, and that there would be no charge. An hour and a half later, I went out to see what was going on with my car. Paul came into the the customer lounge and informed me that it would be at least another half hour. I told him why did he not tell me an hour and a half ago that it would take so long. He said he did. I told him he did not, and not to lie to me. He made no mention that this would take a ridiculous amount of time. He left. I waited the half hour, and when nothing seem to be happening, I went back out to see what was going on. Paul made a quip, Are we having fun yet. I told him it was in his best interest not to be so sarcastic. I was able to see that my car was just sitting to the side of the garage. I asked Paul how much longer, and he said another twenty minutes. I stayed in the counter area until my car was brought out to me. I am now at the dealership for nearly three hours. When I get to the cashier, thinking that there was no charge, I was asked to pay fifty three dollars. I asked why, and Paul came over and said that I had a deductable. I was so angry at that point, I just wanted to get out of the dealership. I feel that I was treated so badly. There was no consideration for my time, and I take full offense to the fact that I was lied to and not kept informed. I would like to know what my options are for some form of compensation for the time lost? If I had been told from the begnining that it would take hours, I would have made arrangements for someone to pick me up, or at least be able to prepare myself to be in a cramp, dirty, and smelly customer lounge for nearly three hours.

Don't waste your time at Milham

by lisa4labz on 07/08/2009

We bought a Toyota Sienna from Milham in 2002, loved the salesperson and it was a great experience. Four years later when we went to trade it in (2005-2006) the salespeople couldn't have been ruder and the place had just taken a turn for the worse so we bought elsewhere. Now four years later we decide to take a trip over to Milham after the manager emailed, and called me explaining since when I was there four years ago they have totally revamped their sales tatics and promised me it would not be the same. Well it wasn't the same, it was worse! The salesperson acted like he didn't have time for us, it's a busy, cut-throat place, and not a pleasure to deal with at all. They didn't have the vehicle I wanted on the lot and the salesperson said he would run a search....but NOTHING came up in a 250 mile radius!!! The salesperson suggested I look for a Highlander, RAV4 or a Camary but I was set on a Venza. My husband suggested we go to another Toyota dealer because he knew that there were 'dealer relationship' issues that could have been the reason for the lack of inventory. So that night we went to another local dealer (very laid back and relaxing experience I might add) and to our surprise NINE with various features turned up in their search. I'm very glad I shopped around and have lost all trust in Milham and will never even consider going back there for ANYTHING.

RIP OFF SERVICE DEPT, and Poor Customer Service.

by cvn on 03/28/2009

I dropped off my Toyota Corolla to do State Inspection and Emission test. They said the car passed State inspection except for my wipers which I installed less than just 4 months ago.To change the wipers they said they will charge $19.99 per wiper blade and $5.60 per blade to install.I asked if I can buy wiper from another store they agreed but they will charge $5.60 for installation.I asked if I can install myself they agreed and told me that I have to come in with new wipers and install it in their garage to get the State Inspection stickers.I went to local Strauss Auto bought wipers which was sale for $3 per wiper (normally 8.99 per wiper which is still better than $19.99). When I went back to Milham Toyota they said even if I install the wiper by myself in their garage they wont pass the State Inspection as the technician is done for the day!!!!..So I need to be there next day with the new wipers!!.. WHAT A WONDERFUL SERVICE!!.In addition to the price rip off can you imagine they treating the customers not offer competitive prices and when customer bring the parts and they wont even offer a helping hand for even a simple installation like wiper blades!!!. On the same day they said the vehicle have a crack on the Serpentine belt for replacing the belt they asked 122.99 but at Local Strauss Auto that was only $80 including taxex!!. Over all I am very much dissatisfied by their price and greedy business model where they just treat their customers as cash machines.POOR SERVICE,POOR PRICE.

Who's Winning?

by rlgeorge on 05/23/2008

I have been a long time purchaser of vehicles from Dick Milham. Eight months ago I purchased a RAV4 Limited for $25,000. Several days ago I had inquired on trading my RAV4 Limited in on a Prius (which in today's economy the price was not negotiable for a hybrid vehicle). I had done my research on trade in value for the RAV4, but the dealership would not match bluebook's quote of approx. $21,170 (even though my car is in excellent condition). I further researched their inventory and found a 2007 RAV4 which has twice the mileage, not the limited edition, and no sun roof listed at $23,980. I inquired into what their policy was on repeat business. I never received a response from them. They have no problem bragging about selling more Toyota's than all other dealerships combined in the area, but their position on client retention and fairness is questionable. I will now purchase my Prius through another dealership who is fair and shares the same loyalty to its customers.

Good Dealership

I brought a 2007 Toyota Tacoma. They were not pressuring which is a good thing. We took our time in deciding what we wanted and for how much. The price was good. It was pleasant to walk into that dealership and not feel pressured by the sales people. I would recommend them.
