HORRIBLE sales management! THEY DO NOT HONOR THEIR WORD! My son was purchasing his first wholly-owned vehicle as he recently enlisted in the Army. This was a 100% cash deal and I was with him to assist as we performed the 'back and forth' with the salesman who confirm with his manager multiple times until we had a mutually agreed upon price. This was expected. Throughout the process the salesman confirmed that my son would absolutely receive the $500 military incentive off of the manager's bottomline quoted price. He stated the "...the manager does not include that incentive in his quotes as he does not want to mistakenly include it and then determine the customer may not be eligible..." I asked to speak to the manager as there was a lot of 'back and forth' negotiation where the salesman could not help, but I was told he is social distancing and this deal was his "....best deal and he will not honor it after today...he never does deals this good..." etc, etc. At no point would the manager talk to us directly during negotiations. At this point we conceded and agreed upon a price with the salesman. After a total of 2 hours of negotiation, and providing and signing several documents including a credit application (which is odd since it is a cash deal?), we were near the end and looking forward to driving off, when the salesman reappeared from the managers office and states he was mistaken and the miltary incentive was already in the managers best price...thus we would need to pay $500 more than we all agreed if we want the car. At this point I demanded to speak with the manager, who emerged for the first time to finally address my son and I. He stated that his final quoted price stands which supposedly included the military discount even though it was not written on the quote AND the salesmans had promised we would get afterward. I asked why they do not honor their word and stand by their quoted price plus the incentive?! BOTTOM LINE IS THEY WOULD NOT STAND BY THEIR WORD. THIS WAS A LAST MINUTE SHAKE DOWN OF A JUNIOR ENLISTED MILITARY MEMBER. As a veteran myself who has seen this kind of behavior at shady car dealers near military bases, I am disgusted by this treatment and lack of honor and integrity from waht I thought was reputable dealership like MAG. I have previously bought many higher-end cars at MAG for the last two decades, but this exepeirence will prevent me from ever using their services again and I will be advising any other military veterans to beware of slippery sales aimed at targeting our junior troops..
