They let warranties expire first

My problem with this dealership is, in august my car overheated and I brought it to be check and was told they couldn't find the problem. Was told it could have been that it was in the 90's and I was stuck in traffic for a few hours but the car should be fine. I only use the car for mostly family trips on the weekends. About a month later I drive to Boston and on the way home it overheats again. I again brought it back and get the thermostat replaced. A few weeks later I drive to montauk and there is air in cooling system, bring it back they say it's fine and bleeded it. A few weeks go by and it overheats again, thermostat is replaced again. I took a long drive last weekend and it overheated again. Now they tell the head gaskets and water pump are bad. While my car was under warranty they were not able to find the problem, now my car is out of warranty and they now they found the real issue. They probably let warranty expire so they could charge me for the repair it initially needed while it was warranty.

Annual Service and NY State Vehicle Inspection

I arrived 20 minutes early for my appointment and that was not a problem. I was greeted warmly and the information for my service was taken quickly and courteously. The Service Manager was friendly and knowledgeable - and made sure I knew where the customer lounge was - since this was my first visit. The agreed upon work was completed quickly, and the paperwork was reviewed with me summarizing the service and expenses prior to payment. It was an excellent overall experience.

No job too small

I have a new smart phone and needed it to be synched to use the blue tooth on my car and I was told to simply drive over and it would be done. I then discovered that my low tire pressure gauge was on and they found a nail and patched the tire at the same time.

I had a gas cap tht wouldn't open . They asked wht I needed took care of me promptly, gave me an estimate time and was finish at that time. Overall good customer service good quality of work done to car

over charged on Labor!!

1st major work done there, But $440 labor for 2.5 hours of work(time between call from dealer about work start to dealer called about work finished), ouch!! sure would think twice or three times before bringing my car in again.

I Love My Subaru

I Love My Subaru Dealership: I have been going to Bay Ridge Subaru since 2000. They are efficient, friendly, respectful, extremely competent. I always feel well taken care of and my car has 152,000 and it still purrs. When I am ready to buy a new car I will get it here.

Excellent service

David was ready for me when I arrived. He explained what service was due (beyond the oil change that I planned to do), how much it would cost and that it could be done today. I waited in the waiting area. The work was done in less time than I had expected. Thank you.

Service is appalling...

My '11 Legacy 2.5i Premium was recalled for the moonroof and wipers. I received the letters about 2 weeks apart from each other. I made my appointment and was waiting to go to the dealership. NYC had a bizarre slush/snow/ice storm just before Halloween. I was aware that the recall for the wipers stated they could stop working if the motors became over heated. My luck, they stopped working the day of the storm. I went to Bay Ridge Subaru the next morning they were open and was immediately accused of breaking my wipers. I was shocked that they said this to me knowing my car was part of the recall. I didn't even know what to say. The manager of the service department tells me he has a Honda Accord where the same exact thing happened over the same exact weekend my wipers stopped. Umm...a '96 Accord with 100,00+ miles is not the same as a 4 month old Legacy with 4,000 miles. After having me sit there for an hour, I'm told the only reason my wipers are being repaired is because I leased my car from their dealership. I demanded a loaner vehicle and was given one after much debate with the service advisor. I called Subaru corporate and filed a complaint with Bay Ridge Subaru. My car is given back to me at the end of the next business day and is not washed. I barely say a word to the service advisor. I receive a call from the dealership after a week as a follow up. I tell the nice girl what happened and says she can't believe how I was treated and that I'll be receiving another follow up call. I get a call from the service manager that same day and says he remembers me and doesn't understand why I had to call corporate to file a complaint. Everything could have been taken care of through him. I told him I was disgusted with the way I was treated. All I was offered was an apology and nothing else. This has left a sour taste in my mouth. Now that I live in Staten Island, I will be trying Staten Island Subaru for my service needs.

Bay Ridge Subaru, rude service

I own 2 Subaru(s) and found them to be unflexible and rude. They are very sour grapes that I did not buy my newer vehicle from them. They refuse to service my vehicle. The manager told me that he "Takes care of his customers". My older vehicle in the past was serviced by them, and they tried to double charge me for labor. I read a Haynes manual and found that they were trying to screw me.
