Adventure 101

Life is full of adventures. Some can be exciting, challenging, extremely memorable, or whatever we decide to make of them. Being previous owners a a few Santa Fe’s , we decided to set out for another adventure, let’s check the new Santa Fe’s and see what’s changed. Maybe it’s time to trade up again to a newer model. Our journey took us to Herb Chambers, Auburn, Ma. Hyundai Dealership. There we were greeted with a great smile and welcomed by Stan Otoo-Genesis, a sales consultant. Stan guided us through the new design features on the 2023 Santa Fe’s. He asked if we would be interested seeing one. He actually showed us two models . Even though our 2020 Santa Fe was in good shape, running well, and had low mileage, both my wife Linda and I started to think about the possibility of replacing it with newer model and different color. Something we really didn’t plan on prior to our visit. I believe Stan became aware of this and started discussions that moved us off the fence , Should we or shouldn’t we to a discussion on which of the two Santa Fe models we were shown. Seeing I chose the white 2020 four years about I surrender to Linda’s color choice, which was the Black model. That evening we ended up purchasing a 2023 Santa Fe SEL with the Premium Package. Stan also help us in the transfer of our existing Blue Link account and our Sirus XM Radio account. Stan also made himself available to assist us with understanding to new technologies and other features that we may not be Familiar with. After purchasing our new Santa Fe and before we set off on a new , adventure; Linda asked if he could connect to Cell Phone to the car? We were amazed how quick and easy he installed the phone. I believe Stan and Paul Weber made our New Car Adventure a pleasant experience and best of all we have two new friends. Wishing Stan Otoo- Genesis and the rest of the Auburn Staff and their families a Very Prosperous New Year. Happy New Year. Perfect car-buying experience!

Really, really impressed with this team. Couldn't have asked for a better car-buying experience! I recently started looking to purchase a certified pre-owned car. I did research online ahead of time, and then scheduled appointments to test-drive vehicles at several different dealers. Herb Chambers Hyundai in Auburn was my first appointment. I had no intention of buying a car when I walked in, but they were great—very helpful, answered all my questions, not at all pushy, had a sense of humor, were committed to exceptional customer service, and got me everything I wanted at a really good price—so, to my surprise, I ended up buying a car. Brianna was my first point of contact—she was great, really helpful answering my initial questions and getting me set up with an appointment. My salesman, Mike C, was exceptional. Very knowledgeable, really funny, and not once did I feel pressured into buying a car—I genuinely felt like he was there to help me out. And when I asked for automatic locks/keyless entry to be installed in the car, he advocated on my behalf with his manager. Mike totally broke every stereotype I had about what a car salesman is like. Ask to work with Mike, he's great! Managers Joey and Tim were also extremely helpful. At every stage of the process, I kept waiting for it turn into this stressful experience—but it never did. Such a positive experience!

FABULOUS Experience!!!!

We went to look at Hyundai's and get an idea of what it would cost to replace our old Elantra. The instant we stepped in the door, we were made welcome, directed to Anthony (very sweet and not at all overbearing) for assistance, and wound up finding the perfect vehicle. There was never any pressure to buy and all questions were answered respectfully and thoroughly. We dealt with the Hyundai dealership in Leominster for our first Hyundai and didn't go back because they treated us like THEY were doing US a favor. We were ignored, treated like we were brainless, and left with a nice enough car, but not happy with our experience. Never again! From now on, we'll go to Herb Chambers for our cars. It's worth the drive to get there!

We went to Herb Chambers Hyundai of Auburn with pretty low expectations, only going to check out a used Santa Fe as a last resort. I had almost made up my mind to buy another, newer model at another dealership but their overbearing sales pitch had me hesitating. As soon as we met Marty we felt at ease. There was absolutely no pressure and we were off on a test drive almost immediately. Much to our surprise we loved the car, were offered a great deal from Marty and we signed the papers that day. The entire process was so easy and stress free. We just picked up the car today and it's immaculate - seriously it feels like a new car. I highly recommend this dealership, and especially Marty R.!

Love my new 2013 Rav 4!

We were at Herb Chambers picking up my husband's truck from service and I was looking around the show room when the 2013 Rav 4 caught my eye. Wayne B. approached me and I was impressed how knowledgeable he was about this vehicle. I was short on time and when I had to leave, he handed me a brochure and his parting words were that "he would be available whenever I wanted to visit the dealership and take one for a test drive". I was currently driving a 2007 FJ Cruiser and had not been planning to change vehicles at this time. I looked at the brochure many times over the next month or so and when I decided to go test drive one, I went back to Herb Chambers to find Wayne. He again took the time to tell me all about the Rav 4, then we took it for a test drive and then we discussed what options I wanted. The team there was very accommodating, taking the time to offer the best trade for the FJ and obtain the vehicle and options I was looking for. However, I was just not ready to sign on the dotted line. I was not an easy sell and had it in my head I was going to shop around. After that visit, Wayne touched base with me but did not pressure me. I had to know I was getting the best deal. Within the next week or so, I visited 2 other Toyota dealers looking to get a better trade in deal. Neither of the other Toyota dealers offered such attentive, knowledgeable, patient sales people like Wayne nor could they compare to Herb Chambers trade in deal. After all comparisons were done, Herb Chambers won hands down with high marks going to Wayne B. as the best salesman. I revisited with Wayne, he answered all my remaining questions, he made sure all bases were covered and we closed the deal. Within days, Herb Chambers obtained the exact vehicle I wanted. Wayne you are the best! Also kudos to Mr. B., General Manager for personally thanking me for my purchase. Also kudos to Mr. Jeffrey K. who took the time to explain Herb Chambers Service Department. Also kudos to finance for finalizing paperwork so quickly.

Great Service, Great Service Director

I recently had an issue with my Hyundai. Bob P went out of his way to get this issue taken care of in a most cost effective way. He went the extra mile for me and saved me a LOT of money on the repair. When I arrived he took the time to explain to me what we were doing and was exceptionally courteous and professional. I was treated like royalty and with respect. The repair was done on time and I am extremely thankful for Bob and Herb Chambers Hyundai...I will buy my next Hyundai from them for sure. ( Killingly CT )

I recently purchased a pre-owned Hyundai Santa Fe from Herb Chambers Hyundai in Auburn and had an excellent experience. The sales team was very accommodating and patient, letting me sit in about 15 vehicles to check them for a comfortable fit on my first visit. On my second visit, I test drove and purchased the perfect vehicle for me and my family. The Herb Chambers Hyundai sales department's commitment to satisfied customers doesn't stop the day you purchase a vehicle, either. Over a month after purchasing the vehicle, I had a problem with the tires which was not covered by any warranty. The service and sales departments worked together, and before I even had to ask, had already decided to replace all four tires for no charge.

Happy 2013 Hyundai Sonata Owner

A little history with my first impression of Herb Chambers dealerships. In 2006 I was trying to purchase a Jeep from Herb Chambers in Millbury, MA. I called at 11:55 a.m. to see if a certain vehicle that was advertised in the Sunday newspaper was on the lot and was told that it was there. I got to the dealer within 10 minutes and was told that someone had bought it and was directed to one that was almost twice the purchase price as the one I was interested in. I got to negotiating on a different vehicle and the salesman and finance man must have thought that they were dealing with an idiot. Needless to say, I left and went to Shrewsbury and purchased a Jeep that afternoon. With that said, I was very surprised to find myself at a Herb Chambers dealership. I stopped in to the Herb Chambers Hyundai store in Auburn, MA on a whim and had the very good fortune of meeting Mike M. He was not your stereotypical car salesman. He was extremely professional, courteous and patient with me. I ended up buying the 2013 Hyundai Sonata Limited (the first car that I test drove). Mike M. and Sadiq D. closed the deal with me. The knowledge that Sadiq has on the car I bought was quite impressive. He spent quality time with me making sure that I understood what all of the features were. I truly appreciate that. These gentlemen are a superb team and I will definitely recommend them to family and friends who are looking to purchase a new car. Thanks guys. Terry G

all the staff was friendly and helpfull

I went to two other Hyundai dealers,the rt. 12 showroom was under constrction, and it was raining hard out,but that did not slow the staff down,i went up to the best drest guy and asked him to tell me about the Veloster,he did a good job,i was sold the only thing i don't like is the car did not have a real spair tire,it has a air fix a flat thing,yes i went out and spent all the money and now have a real tire and wheel,other than that i am very happy with the staff at the Auburn herb Chambers.

Please Please STAY AWAY....

Went to this dealer for a maintenance of our old car and was not prepared to buy a new one. We just went inside the showroom to see the new model cars during the waiting hours for the repair work. We were caught by the manager by the words "if you do maintenance work here, you will get a big discount which is going to end tomorrow"! We listened to the sales person for almost 3hrs and finally they made us to lease a car which was never in our agenda. When we asked for the purchase options instead of leasing, they said you will have to pay more!! But they never disclosed what is the exact price of the car. They made us fall into a lease for 36 months for $279 and took us to the manager where the whole story turned upside down. We saw the price of the 2012 Elantra limited model (we never knew that they are making us to lease this model, even that they did nt disclose!)being put as 25625!! The MSRP is $21390 for the model they gave us. the profit for them was more that $4000. The limited model is having a "tech package" which comes with a navigation system and the MSRP($23490) for that is also even lesser than the price they put for us . The column to be filled for "rebate" was put as "N/A" means no rebate and you got cheated. I contacted them later about this and their answer was if you pay $1695, we can install navigation system in your car, but for that you have to leave your car here for 1 whole day and night!!! I have already given a downpayment which no bloody fools will pay for a lease and even after that they are asking me more money for the one they have made us to buy. A real fraud. We are not going to get justice in this matter we know, for me the exact loss is $5300 in this lease!!! Please stay away....

Warning to anyone looking to buy or lease a new Hyundai!! I recently went here in which I had an appt. for a simple test drive. When I arrived I stated I wanted the Tuscon GLS which is AWD. I was lead to believe the car I drove was it and found out during the paper work that the car was a GL,FWD and that they had given it to me for the GLS,AWD price... I fought for my title back and finally got it after I had reported them and called the A.G. office. Things sure did turn around fast after that in which I should have gotten that kind of service right in the first place. The manager has several complaints already on him and is not honest with the #'s. He will try to throw you in any car on the lot just to get a quick sale!! I had to deal with this nightmare for over a week until things got resolved. I have never dealt with this kind of experience my entire life and hope noone else will. Be prepared or they will try to pull a fast one on you. I guess the word "no" these days isn't valent enough!!

DO NOT SHOP HERE!

First, I am over 17 miles away from this dealer and I wanted to be sure that they had exactly what I wanted so I called ahead of time and they assured me that they had it. Less than an hour later, I get there and they told me that they had 2 manual 2012 Elantra's left and one was the base that I was looking for...but it was nowhere near the color that I wanted. I took the ugly color car for a test drive and told the dealer that I was not interested in this color. The sticker price for a base model 2012 Accent with nothing in it is 13K, he upped the price to 15K and was trying to sell us the car at 18% financing?!?! I told him that I did my homework and I know how much this car is, and I didn't want that car in that color. They played games with us like we were idiots. DO NOT SHOP HERE! They will try to get you in there, then over price the car by 2K over the MSRP and will not tell you the APR that they are trying to get you in at. This place is why dealerships get bad reputations!

Pleasantly Surprised!

I went into this dealership expecting to have to do everything I could, to not allow myself to be manipulated into buying a car I could not afford. I ended up being very pleasantly surprised. No high pressure sales tactics. Very pleasant and respectful staff. Mike gave me a fair price for my trade, a great price on my new 2010 Elantra and a great rate (although rate is based on credit they didn't try to say we did not qualify..which I have seen done before with less ethical dealerships). If there was a down side it was the ad and the fact that they tack on to the MSRP. The ad could be taken as misleading stating $5000 for trade in 0% interest etc. but you have to read the fine print where it is based on Invoice (added price) and 0% was for the Sonata only. It does state it in the ad and they all (not only car dealerships) use these Marketing/Advertising strategies and it is not Mike Stan or Matt's issue. As a matter of fact Mike and Stan were up front and honest about it from moment one. I just think it would be nice if the customer didn't have to sort through all that and I'm sure Mike and the Sales team would have less bruises at the end of the day if they didn't have to explain the ad. This is not a sleezy dealership it was actually a very honest up front dealership ..my only complaint is that I wish the ad reflected that. BTW - I love my new car!!

Brought my 2004 Hyundai Sonnata in for a lube oil filter service they performed a 27 point inspection at no charge then gave a sheet with what was good what will need attention in the future, and what I needed now. They also found a rotted sub frame and the service manager was great he inspected it called Hyundai and got it approved my car has 110,000 miles. I was shocked to hear they would give me assitance for a repair that was out of warranty. Abd it gets better they gave me a loaner vehicle while it was being repaired. This is the place they know there game try them you won't be dissapointed.

Be Careful!!

The relatively new salesman said in the lot that we could get both a $2000 rebate and 0% financing. Wow, better than we expected so we went in took a test drive and sat down to deal. We said what car we wanted and gave our trade info etc. The general salesman then came back and slapped a paper on our table with his numbers. Boy were we shocked! The selling price he came back with was $1500 above the sticker, he offered us $900 less than the Kelly BB for our trade and there was no rebate. He also had a monthly payment all figured out w/o knowing how many months we wanted. When we questioned the rebate, he said that we didn't qualify because we were not military of Hyundai loyality customers. He was dead wrong. There is a $2000 rebate for all people. After haggling we arrived at a price that I wanted which included the rebate. Now to the finance room! As usual, we were pressured to buy all insurance, warranties, thefts devices etc. I wanted none. Then came time to sign I noticed that he was charging 8.9% interest (which is absurdly high) and asked why. He said that you can't get both the rebate AND 0% financing. The salesman admitted to saying that we could and finally admitted that he was wrong and made a mistake. I charged fraud and demanded the original quote given to me 41/2 hours earlier but guess who won! I ended up with 0% interest in lieu of the rebate. After being there for over 5 hours from start to finish, I felt betrayed and cheated. I ended up buying a beautiful Hyundai Sonata for the looks and warranty as I did not want to go through this process again soon! I ended up paying around $800 less than the bottom sticker price with them making me feel like they were making very little profit. They most likely ended up with about a $1000 profit when all was said and done. Don't let them fool ya. Never again Herb Chambers!
