Great Service

This dealership was a perfect fit for me. I was towed in and taken care of immediately. We decided to come back and shop for a used vehicle. Our salesman Ron, listened to what I was looking for and was very knowledgeable on the vehicles that met those needs. Our purchase went without any problems and I’m looking forward to many years of driving my car.

The 200 is awesome! They made this so easy!

Southoak Dodge went the extra mile for me (as they always do). As the new 2015 Chrysler 200 has just started to come out, they made sure to get me the exact model with the specifications that I wanted. I had very specific requirements for color, trim, and options. There was no pressure to look at a model that didn't fit my specifications. The price on the 200 that I purchased was lower than any other dealership was able to offer me. I also got a very fair value on my trade in. As I work late, and wasn't able to get to the dealership prior to 8:30pm, they had several employees stay after closing time to wrap up the deal. Scott C. was even able to get a lot of information from me over the phone so that when I showed up to purchase the vehicle everything was taken care of very quickly! Mark H. and the finance team were able to get me a great rate and walked me through several different payment options. To top off the great buying experience, the new 2015 Chrysler 200 is an amazing vehicle and I am very happy with my purchase.

No Pressure

Jason was outstanding! Nobody wants to be at a car dealer ... it is a long process. However, we came in knowing what we wanted to look at which made things easier. We called ahead and the first car was ready for us to test drive. We also were already pre-approved for a loan - again making it easier. Ask for Jason - you won't be disappointed! Only reason for 4 stars is because it took a long time to process.

I went in expecting a battle to come to my terms. Past experiance of my last long ago purchase from another Dodge dealer. I was totally taken aback on their non-pressure sales and it was an enjoyment to come to my terms. The saleman was very polite and honest even though he had to get upper level acceptance to my requests. I am very happy feeling I had control of transactions.

VERY unprofessional

I had been talking to MIKE P for 4 days and had pics of a 2012 Jeep unlimted. A planned weekend test drive was scheduled however, our Friday night opened up and we decided to take the hour+ drive (1 way!) to South Oak. I had called MIKE P twice and he was well aware that we were on our way. Upon our arrival at South Oak, MIKE P told h=me that the auto was "JUST SOLD." MIKE P then said he had found some "DEALS" for us. Funny how the vehicle was "just sold" and MIKE P was able to "find some deals for us" but not a phone to call us and prevent the 2+ hours round trip on a Friday night. And the "JUST SOLD" happened the previous day--how inconsiderate not to tell me when I spoke to you--twice! The dealership claims: We understand your life is very busy and you do not have time to play games with your car dealer. Therefore, we are ready to work extremely hard to make your purchasing experience, not only quick and convenient, but also hassle free and fun! We are always here to provide any information you may need to purchase the right vehicle for you. Really?? convenience, no games, hassle free??? I don't think so. How unprofessional of you MIKE P to play those games!

Bad Dealer Service

Brought in my 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT to the dealer I bought it from (South Oak Dodge, Matteson, IL) last Thursday night for work to be done on Friday for an Air Conditioning problem that Chrysler had extended the warranty on. I asked the service writer (Ken) about the Air Bag light that was on. He said it'll cost a minimum of $99. to find the problem plus parts and labor. I told Ken to fix the air but I can't afford the Air Bag repair. Ken writes "Recall" on service order. When I picked up the car Friday night the Air Conditioning had not been touched because the mechanic thought "Recall" meant to fix the Air Bag as it was a recall item. I guess Ken didn't know that a recall was on the Air Bag. Ken said leave the car, they'll get it started that night before the mechanic goes home at 8:00 PM. Saturday no word from South Oak so late in the afternoon I call and they say to pick it up. Still no A/C but they say bring back early Monday. After being there all day (Ken never calls) I call them and Ken says the van is too stinky to work on. It was there Thursday night, Friday & Saturday and no one said it stunk. Ken had no solution other than pick up the van. By now I am irate with this service writer because he has had no communication with me and did not properly write the work order in the first place. I loudly and graphically express my dissatisfaction and the sales manager offers to help me get the problem solved. On Tuesday, the service manager Joe Spalla calls my work before store hours and asks me to return his call. I left him a voice message as he was away from the phone. Several calls and pages to Joe later I still had not heard made contact. Later the service writer Ken sarcastically said that Joe tried four times to call me but couldn't get through. That day I had four calls from South Oak's sales department that got through (at that point I thought I'd buy a new Grand Caravan & trade in the old). At 6:00 PM Monday Ken says the A/C had not been started on as the van had to be cleaned. I picked up the van and saw the only cleaning that was done over the last 24 hours was the rear well was vacuumed and some awful room fresher was sprayed in the van. Today all the doors and windows are open on the van to get their room fresher stink out. I have a couple of dogs and maybe the van didn't smell the best... The sales manager said he didn't think the smell was bad. And can something smell so bad that a mechanic couldn't stand it? I'm in that car every day and I don't think it smells bad. Couldn't Ken the service writer have come up with some solution days earlier? I get the feeling after he screwed up the original work order that he was punishing me for his failure. Today Wednesday still no call from Joe Spalla the service manager. I figure I'll hear from my salesman because as of yesterday he thought I would buy another car from South Oak. I'll have to give him the bad news that I'll never step foot in South Oak Dodge again.
