Treated me right

by Chad T on 09/08/2023

Cabin fan was making a horrible noise. Said there was debris and during the courtesy review noticed I was out of alignment. Since we just got back from driving to Denver where the potholes were horrible I was not surprised. So I told them to do the alignment but I would take apart the cabin fan and clear it. They ended doing the alignment and cleared the debris from the fan and didn’t charge me for that part. I know it was probably only a 5 minute job. But I was highly appreciative of them doing that. Will bring it back for the next maintenance item.

No service service department

by Notbuyingagain on 04/04/2017

Another poor experience with the service dept. Despite a written contact that a loaner car would always be provided, I was told that no car would be provided because "the sales people can say anything, but I run the service dept" poor attitude and clearly no interest in my repeat business.

Fantastic service for an out of State customer

by SunnyNewMexico on 09/24/2015

Considering I was from out of State, everything was handled very nicely. I had an appointment for an oil change and was able to get in early to have that done. It didn't take long and my car was washed as well which I appreciated very much. The service guys were very helpful and courteous. Thank you for letting me get my new 2015 Elantra in for the oil change on short notice.

Do not use their service department

by dgharker on 04/10/2012

I have dealt with the service department here twice now and will never do so again. The first time they replaced 2 tires and took 3 hours to do it even after telling me it would take one. To top it off they put my old corroded valve stems in my new tires. Naturally they failed within 2 days and I had to go back to get them to fix it. I went back to get my brakes done. Their prices are simply absurd. 420 dollars in labor alone for front and rear brakes is extremely high. Then to insult me further they said "Your radiator hoses are starting to leak. We can fix that for you and do a coolant flush as well" all for the low low price of 435 dollars. Obviously I told them no thanks on that offer. The service department here are [non-permissible content removed] who will try to upsell you services you dont need at insultingly high prices. Under no circumstances should you have them perform anything but warranty work on your vehicle.

One of the worst I've ever dealt with.

by SevenBizzos on 01/23/2009

While I'm overall satisfied with the quality of the car, the service department has ruined my entire experience with Hyundai. This service department assumes you're stupid and is actually pretty cocky about it. I've even told Hyundai corporate about them, and they seemed concerned, but never followed up with me regarding specifics (they said they were going to send me a form for a written summary). When the car was still under warranty, everything went smoothly. A couple of minor issues and recalls were corrected sort of easily once you got passed the sales pitch of "flushing" just about everything. For some silly reason, we took the car to the dealer for the 60k service and the timing belt replacement. I assumed the work performed would be the list included under the 60k maintanence schedule located in the owner's/service manual and for the $575 it seemed to me I should at least receive all that was included. In the end, barely half of the list was performed. I received a new quart of ATF fluid, a new plug assembly, a coolant flush, a PCV valve, an air filter (which replaced one with only 5k on it), and an oil change. $575 for that - yes! Oh yeah, and they swiped my brand new $25 winter blades for ones that were barely functional. I asked for them back when I went to pick up the car, and they had mysteriously disappeared (probably on a tech's vehicle). They refused to replace my blades with the ones they had pretty much stolen. So, less than 10k later the "check engine" light comes on. I was pretty life busy at the time and instead of buying the $50 decoder and replacing the part myself, I decided to let them handle it. I dropped the car off at 7:00am and got a call at 7:30am from the service manager who (as is probably part of his job) tried to sell me everything. I (with help) flushed the brake fluid during a 4-brake replacement a couple of weeks before so I told him that wasn't necessary. He pretty much challenged me on it and said I was lying! I was standing 2' from the vehicle when it happened! I know what we did! Then he started in about the ATF flush. I told him it was in the works to happen when I have time and my friend's garage (60 miles away) could schedule it. He definately inferred we wouldn't know how to do it, would likley ruin things, so they should (for $150). "No" again... He also went on to plead with me to replace the cabin filter (for some ungodly cost), to which I told him "no" because it was in my plans in a couple of weeks. When I asked him "so what's wrong with my car?" he replied they hadn't even looked at it yet! ROFL! How did he know all of that needed replacing when they hadn't even looked at the car????????? Amazing!! Probably in response to our "discussion" earlier in the day, I got slammed for $350 for an O2 sensor replacement. I asked for that, I guess. Total cost to me if I wasn't so busy at the time would have probably been ~$100. So when I went to swap out the cabin filter a couple of weeks later, I opened up the compartment only to find no filter! No wonder it needed replaced, it wasn't even there! So either a) the car was built without it, or b) the dealership took it out. Since all of my maintanence, the car has been fine. If the car continues to require maintanence that is reasonably easy, like part replacements, I will continue to drive it. Taking a 80k mile Hyundai back to a dealer is costs more than the car is worth. Kind of sad.
