Won't be a third time

by bud65 on 09/08/2008

Two years ago I wanted to buy a Corrolla from Lowes but ended up going to Butler Toyota. We want a Prius so we stopped into the new Lowe Toyota dealership. Bottom line: New store same poor service!! We waited 45 minutes to be insulted by trade in of $1000 on our 7 pax van, gagarge kept, excellent shape that a bank and the Blue book listed as low tade in value of $2,075. The sales manager wants TOP dollar on their car and wants to give you way below the value of your car every time. So I called Butler and explained my recent dealings and told them what I was in the market for. They called me back 30 minutes later and told me they would give me the low market value of $2000 and would help me find the Prius I was looking for with a $500 deposit. I loved thier service and desire to "make a deal" wen I bought my 2006 Toyota Corrolla and I am sure I will be satisfied with my 2008 or 09 Prius. Why I even tried Lowe of Warner Robins again I don't know-- convenient location I guess. BUT NEVER AGAIN!!!! I gave them two shots at my bussiness, there "Won't be a third time". Sad part, I wonder if the owner knows his folks are treating people like this? I felt like a sheep going to slauter. The manager must have thought I did not do my homework, ah, but I did. So I know he was trying to take me for a ride with all his smoothe talking about the current market, value of a Prius, etc... NICE TRY...

Toyota Corolla

by mmcinvale on 04/11/2008

I went in based on a flyer sent from the newly formed internet department. I was very skeptical that the flyer claims could be accomplished but they were. I had a 05 RAV with about 60k miles on it. It was financed for 72 months. I came out with a 09 Corolla and 60 month payment for about $25 more per month. I was not looking to buy a car, thinking that a small SUV was the right vehicle for me...but I was very surprised at the roomy interior and how quiet the ride was. As for the salesperson I dealt with, he was the nicest, most professional sales person I have ever dealt with in a car dealership. I already had an established history with Lowe because after I bought the RAV, all the service was done by them, they knew the car. I will continue to take the Corolla to their service department because in the almost 3 years I have been dealing with them, I have never had a bad experience. I'm sorry other people have had a bad experience, I have had my share in the past with other dealerships but so far I feel I have been treated with respect and a friendly staff. Thank you, Lowe Toyota....

'07 tundra sale

by reattchd1 on 11/12/2007

good experience at dealership, when I found the truck I wanted, the negoatiation was pretty straightforward. Salesman knew his product and even told me things I didn't realize about the truck. I did my homework about the truck online and saw other type postings on here but everything was fine when I went.

The Best Car Buying Experience I have Ever Had

by micah1980 on 11/08/2007

I just purchased a Tundra from Lowe Toyota and received the best service I could possibly ask for. I asked for a quote on their website, with in 5 minutes I had the quote. Unlike other dealer, they sent the price that they had to offer and then called me. Once I arrived at the store, the salesman gave me a full demonstration on the truck and showed me some things that I did not know even after doing hours of research on my own. I drove the truck and we went back to the store and started the paperwork once I realized the price that they sent was the price. The salesman has even called me several times since then to make sure my wife and I are completely satisfied with the truck. If you are looking for a great deal without wearing yourself out at the store, go the their website and provide you info and they will give you any information you want.

Ugh.

by betsyj on 09/14/2007

We bought an '08 Scion xD from Lowe Toyota in August. If there had been another xD available in middle Georgia, we would have left and gone elsewhere. The first sales associate my husband spoke to was polite and friendly, but my husband knew more about the xD than he did, so the associate got intimidated and brought in a more experienced salesman. This guy demonstrated every reason why we all hate car salesmen: he talked fast, made big promises, wouldn't let us leave or have a moment alone to discuss anything, and refused to listen when we told him what we wanted. My husband took a phone call during our 6+ hour ordeal (at the Ordealership...heh) and the salesman accused us of calling a competing dealership to try to play them against each other. He insisted that we should give him a check for the cost of the car, even after we told him our financing wasn't 100% approved yet and we weren't comfortable having him "hold the check" till Monday. It was a Saturday and the place was crowded; we kept having to switch tables until they found a working computer. It was freezing in there. There were dozens of other unhappy people just trying to spend thousands of dollars without getting shafted; crying children, tired humans all being treated like crap, having to wait for hours and hours so the salesmen could break us down. The employees outnumbered customers at least 2 to 1 but salesmen were still trying to handle two or three sales at once, so sometimes we'd sit at one table and watch our salesman working with someone else across the room. After all of his fast talk, he promised us a cargo mat for my xD. It had to be ordered, so I waited three weeks and then stopped by knowing full well that it wouldn't be there, and it wasn't. The parts department made him come and explain to me why he never even ordered it. He made up a story about his computer not showing it was available yet, even though the parts dept. computer said it was. They told him, in front of me, that if he gave them a "We Owe" form, they'd have it for me by Friday...that's today...so I stopped in again, suspecting it still wouldn't be in. And it wasn't. Parts called him down again, since they still don't have a "We Owe" on it. This time he blamed it on them: "If I give you ANOTHER ONE, can we order it?" So I'll wait again, and go in again, and see if he's actually done it this time. I work nearby, so it's just kind of fun to watch him dance around every time I come in. I have to be fair: our salesman was manipulative, intimidating, and disrespectful, but he was honest with us in all matters not related to the cargo mat. Because of the pure pricing on Scions, they weren't trying to add anything to the deal that we didn't want; the sticker price is the price, and they did honor that. And there was my trade-in - a 99 Corolla with 215k and a bad engine - they gave us a trade-in value of $300, and they stuck to it even after the engine died and the car had to be towed in on the morning of the sale. Over the years I've met some really nice people who work at Lowe Toyota in Parts, Service, and Internet Sales divisions. I wish I could deal with them when I'm buying a car.

Don't go to Lowe

by tab71 on 08/20/2007

My husband and I recently purchased a Toyota Sienna van from Lowe Toyota. The experience was so horrible that I had to go to the doctor due to the stress. We planned ahead and did all the research on edmunds. I talked several times to the sales rep over the phone to negotiate a deal that we could afford. Once we had an agreement, we traveled the 90 miles to the dealership after my husband got off work one evening. At first everything was fine, then our "deal" little by little was changed. But, in the three hours that followed I not only got a severe headache from not being able to eat but, I also was exhausted by ten o'clock and found it hard to think straight. First, they claimed our trade was not worth half what we had agreed to over the phone. Then, even though my husband's credit is exceptional (over 750) we couldn't qualify for the best interest rate (the one we had agreed to before on the phone). Then finally we were pressured not to purchase at all but instead to lease. Thankfully, we didn't agree to a lease and we were able the following week to finance elsewhere and get a better interest rate. This was due to the fact that two days after we came home they called and demanded an extra $700.00 because they said we owed more on our trade than we told them. This made our first agreement void and we were then able to look elsewhere for financing. Oh and by the way, we refused to pay the $700.00. All of this could have been avoided if our sales rep had actually worked prior to our coming up there. He could have called our lender himself and got the buy out for our trade, he could have obtained the VIN number of our trade and ran his Car Fax and he could have told us that if we would wait just one week his dealership was going to offer 0% interest in August. But, if you are hoping for an honest deal and a hard working sales rep that truly wants repeat business you will have to go elsewhere. That's where I wish I had bought my Toyota van, that I truly love, ELSEWHERE!
