Very easy process. Salesman William Bird was knowledgeable and accommodating. We appreciate how quickly we were able to take delivery of our new Canyon Denali.

Carl Black Buick, Chevrolet, and GMC

by abelots on 12/01/2023

The salesman Brian Mobley was very nice and polite but that's where the good experience ends. The dealership charges $3,000.00 extra for a "Carl Black Cares" package (explained to me as a protective coating sprayed on the interior and exterior of the vehicle) which I was told is non negotiable. When asked about what product was used, I was unable to get an answer. When I requested that it not be done to the vehicle, I was told that it was already done at on off-sight location prior to the vehicle arriving. The problem with this whole transaction is that the vehicle arrived straight from the manufacturing plant covered in dirt and still with the factory plastic covering all of the seats. I am a mechanic and pretty well versed on most things automotive, so I know that the truck never had anything applied to it since it arrived with the factory plastic wrap on all the seats. If anything was applied then the plastic would have been removed. And if anything like a protective ceramic coating or vinyl conditioner was applied then the plastic wouldn't adhere to the seats. Also the truck arrived with a large scratch on the passenger side quarter panel that had to be buffed out twice and is still visible. There are now swirl marks in the paint of my brand new truck due to that process, which leads me to believe that either the truck wasn't cleaned properly beforehand or, the buffing pads weren't clean and had some sort of sediment on them. If there was a protective coating like a ppf applied to the vehicle then neither the scratch nor the subsequent swirl marks would have happened. THIS IS FRAUD in the utmost degree. Not only were we not informed about this charge until beginning to finalize the purchase paperwork for our vehicle, but there is no proof that this so called "Carl Black Cares" package was installed, and there is proof that it was never installed. Once again, this is clear cut FRAUD. I was informed by my salesman that lots of dealerships do these kind of packages and he specifically stated the Toyota dealership located behind theirs. This wasn't a good example because Toyota is currently being sued for illegally preventing car buyers from canceling unwanted car bundles among other things. I can't stress enough that I am car literate and there is nothing someone can spray on the interior of my vehicle that costs $3,000.00. A paint protection film (ppf) and ceramic coating, on average, is over $10,000.00 for a truck of that size, and if something like that was applied then the dirt and water sticking to my truck, on top of the paint swirls that are now clearly visible due to having to buff out the scratch twice, would not have never been there. This service was never applied to my vehicle and I was FORCED to sign something that I didn't want to in order to receive my truck that I had custom ordered and have been waiting six months, three months after its completion date, to receive. THIS IS FRAUD. I love Chevrolet and all of the GM brands. I consider them the best of the USDM vehicle range. I have been a fan since my early childhood and throughout my professional automotive career. I am now blessed to be able to purchase my first diesel truck and my first brand new Chevrolet. I love my truck. I just wish that I had picked a dealership that didn't charge me for nothing and made me feel more like a friend and less like an annoying guest. Aleks B.

We love Carl Black Kennesaw!

by Jeff Black on 10/02/2023

This is our 2nd purchase from Carl Black Kennesaw. Your salesman Will Bird actually came in on his day off to sell this vehicle to us. We text in advance about which SUV's you had in stock so Will had the two vehicles we wanted to compare ready upon our arrival. Ken from the financing department was very friendly once again and had us out the door in our new Suburban in no time! My two year old son and I enjoyed playing in the bouncey house as well :)

Disappointed in my $90,000 truck deal

by Dissatisfied on 08/01/2022

We all know the automobile market is hot right now but its a shame that we have to walk away feeling taken advantage of by a dealer that you have had 2 previous purchases with and who you go to for all your service. I traded in my 2017 Silverado 2500HD Duramax LTZ with Z71 package w/113K miles and only received the lowest of trade in values based on online sources. $39,000 (and the manager said he could simply do no more). I specifically asked if they would be selling it or sending to the auction. I was told that due to the high miles (113k is not high for a Diesel) that it would go to auction. However, before I could even leave the dealership they had a buyer waiting. Felt like ol' Bait and Switch. While the dealer demanded no less than full sticker price for my new truck plus an additional $2995 "Carl Black Cares" package which I was told by an employee was there in large part to since they were not going above sticker as they said many dealers do. I had already bought two other vehicles there and made that known (a 2013 loaded LTZ Tahoe and the 2017 Silverado 2500HD LTZ Z71) but they did not seem to care about customer loyalty. Just that they had a truck they could sell to the highest bidder and give the least amount on a trade. That was the situation I found myself in when purchasing an $87,000 truck (PLUS I had to pay for the $3k 'Cares' package). And I bought an extended warranty from them! Tax tag and title put the deal at close to $100k! At this point I will not recommend Carl Black GMC/Chevy nor will I ever buy another vehicle from them again. I am in the sales profession as well but, in my humble opinion, I am extremely dissatisfied in the way this was handled at the dealer.

Truth is Simple, but No One Here is Familiar with it

by Deceived Georgia Car Buyer on 12/22/2021

It's a rather simple concept, the truth, but no one at Carl Black is familiar with being honest, honoring their word or anything related to the truth. First, Sharon Hampton lied up front by stating they don't markup vehicles, as many dealers are these days, but hey at least those dealers are gouging consumers directly, without any spin, lies or manipulation to cover up the markup. That's what Carl Black does best in the form of multiple unnecessary fees and offering incentives that suddenly, as if David Copperfield were involved, magically disappear! They required I pay for the vehicle, sign all of the documents before I ever saw the Yukon otherwise they said they would sell it to someone else. Fantastic, right? But we must trust people, to some degree, in this delightful COVID world we are living in... just don't trust anyone at Carl Black. To make this process even more cumbersome for me, they don't offer any virtual experiences even in COVID affected times so I was forced to drive hours to meet the sales rep and sign the docs in a cold and windy parking lot. These people clearly aren't familiar with not just the truth, but any kind of customer service is a foreign concept as well. What business doesn't offer virtual services after nearly 2 years of COVID in our lives? I've purchased other cars in the past 2 years and was offered a seamless, completely virtual experience by the dealership that then brought the car to my house so I never had to leave the comfort and safety of my home. Carl Black clearly doesn't believe in service to a customer in any way, at any time except on their own terms, how they define it, how, where and when they want it... which is the opposite of serving the customer. But wait... there's MORE! Then comes the bait and switch. They had provided two proposals, one for financing and the other for cash purchase, both showing an incentive (cash bonus) if I financed through the manufacturer's finance arm yet, when I drove hours to meet the sales rep, William Bird, to sign the docs, this wasn't reflected on the documentation. I asked about it and the sales rep said they didn't recall anything of this sort. So young to be suffering from early on set Alzheimer's. The sales rep told me he would check into this and they would fix it later. Famous last words because his amnesia further took hold over his young mind as I was told this was never offered to me... so I emailed the written proposals to the General Manager, Louis Spaeth, with a question as to what happened? He never replied. Then I emailed the friendly, engaging lady that first spoke to me from the dealership, Sharon Hampton, asking about this discrepancy. She never replied. So then I called and spoke to the Sales Manager, Jon Ziegler who attempted to distract and deflect by mentioning many completely unrelated factors in order to confuse and confound me and ended with that he would look into this. The follow up from the sales manager was that they value my business and wouldn't want anyone to feel misled. Placating me with lies isn't helping anyone. It's a rather simple concept, the truth, but these people are so unfamiliar with it that they make it much more complex all to the detriment of the customer they claim to value and serve. I asked them to honor their word, which they put in writing, but they chose to spin, distract, deflect and lie instead. Save yourself the trouble of dealing with people that don't deserve your time, energy or decency and skip over any dealership with Carl Black on the sign or building. They lie, deceive and spin the facts to the point I don't think they would know truth if it slapped them across the face.

New Car Purchase

by ndl2024 on 01/06/2016

Brandon was our salesman and we really enjoyed working with because we felt that he was knowledgeable and we never felt pressured to purchase a vehicle. The dealership and Sales Manager offered us a KSU Alumnus and Cobb County Educator discount on our vehicle. We appreciated this. They also worked with us on our trade in and found us just the right car. We were able to take advantage of the end-of-the-year employee pricing 100,000 mile warranty and we were grateful for this seeing that we were getting out of our old car (VW) due to high maintenance costs. We now have peace of mind and feel satisfied with our new purchase.

Great Purchase Process

by tfacente33 on 11/11/2015

We came in looking for a luxury model on an economic budget. They were able to work with us and we were able to get BOTH! LOVE THIS PLACE and Frank Madonna was a HUGE help in making that happen along with the finance department. After, Frank made sure we were taken care of and knew the vehicle inside and out. Found my spot to always go and recommend for a new car!

So very happy about this purchase!

by BamaLauryG on 07/31/2015

n early July 2015, I expressed my interest in a 2015 camaro on the Chevrolet website. The Carl Black dealership attracted me due to the particular responsiveness and warmth of my initial contact = Jillian. She(Jillian) persistently left me voice mails inquiring about my interest. Jillian's overwhelmingly excellent response to my internet expressed interest brought me to Carl Black Chevrolet. Then, I was introduced to my salesperson-Eric Willis. I had asked for an informed salesperson who would not apply ridiculous pressure to my decision. Thankfully, I was introduced to this particularly wonderful young man -Eric Willis. Immediately, I felt comfortable with this fellow Southerner and all of his knowledge, sincerity, manners and all around charm. From the test drive to the delivery, Eric was polite and professional! This young man is a huge asset to your dealership!! Eric Willis sealed my decision to purchase a silver 2015 camaro from particularly him and thereby Carl Black Chevrolet. The purchase of a silver 2015 Chevrolet Camaro is one of my happiest decisions! I am very satisfied with the whole experience at Carl Black Chevrolet!

Horrible Sale

by kenyahp08 on 05/19/2015

On 3-6-15, I purchased a GMC Acadia from Carl Black in Kennesaw, GA. I requested a carfax report and was not given one. Once asked about the condition of the car, I was told there were no accidents. I asked Brandon Ramsey why I could not get a report and he stated that nothing was wrong with the car and it never was in an accident. I trusted them since I was a repeat customer. A few days later (3-8-15) the car started giving me some issues and I informed Brandon right away and he scheduled service. Prior to taking it in onstar sent me a list of things that was wrong with the car (3-7-15). I immediately forwarded it to Brandon and was told that onstar was just updating and the information was old. He did say he would look into it but said everything was fine because the car passed through their inspection process. I dropped the car off (3-10-15) to look into the kickback I was getting. I picked the car up (3-14-15) and requested a carfax report again because the car was having too many issues too soon. I was again denied the report from Brandon. All of this led me to go and get a report from another dealership a week or two later (3-24-15). The findings were horrific. The car had structural damage and the odometer reading was 1k less than the prior year. I asked Brandon to work on this and see what can be done. I was told nothing by him as well as his manager (not sure who was yelling at me on the other line). Other minor issues occurred with the scratches that needed to be repaired and it took about 3 weeks (4-3-15) to get it done and the driver side still has scratches. I asked for a carfax report again and mentioned getting a lawyer and then immediately Brandon gave me an autocheck report. The car was finally delivered again and still had scratches (4-9-15). I filled a complaint with the BBB and Consumer Protection Agency (4-10-15). I called GMC Customer Service and spoke with Brain (whom no longer works there, claim #71-1463877758) and chatted with Stacie. Both confirmed that the vehicle had 4 recalls as of 3-2-15 and 2 of them were safety related. Both also informed me that the dealership would call me but my contact would be Stefan. I called Stefan on 4-18-15 and was told he did not address issues on the weekend. On 4-20-15, I then called the finance manager, left a message and never received a phone call back, called GMC twice with no luck and Stefan. Stefan said he would speak with Terrell (the yelling manager) and get back to me. On 4-21-15 Stefan called back and told me to set up an appointment with Magnum to get the vehicle reevaluated. 4-22-15 I called Magnum and was told to come in whenever. The same day David called back and told me that Terrell would schedule the reevaluation and put me in a loaner on 4-27-15. When I arrived at the dealership Stefan sat down with me and I showed him the carfax report. Once I showed him the report, the whole story changed to trading the vehicle in. They attempted to trade the vehicle in for $25,000.00 but I only could choose from the rental vehicles or new vehicles that were way above my price range. I asked to speak with Stefan and he was not available, I left a message for him to call me back and I have yet to hear back from him. I called Stefan twice and left a message on 4-28-15. On 4-29-15 I called Stefan again with no response. Robert the new GMC rep called to replace Brain and I updated him. 5-4-15 called Stefan again and left a message with no luck. From 5-6-15 until 5-15-15 Robert has been attempting to get someone fro Carl Black to call be back. I have been transferred from person to person within Carl Black and left numerous messages with no response. I have even been hung up on!! I have even left messages for Scott Jordan and Lewis Spate. I am sure that Stephanie at the front desk can testify to how many times I have called this dealership to resolve this issue. I can go on and on about the horrible customer service. Brandon Ramsey was a terrible sales rep and purposely sold me a car to make his quota. He refused to give me the report because they knew the car had structural damage and the odometer was tampered with. Terrell was a horrible manager to speak to a customer in the manner in which he spoke to me. The finance manager didn't have the decency to return my phone call. Stefan initially tried to work with me but decided to no longer accept my calls and ignore my messages. Scott and Lewis simply didn't care enough to get involved. Now I am stuck with a car that is worthless due to the structural damages and odometer tampering. I just want them to take this car back. I don't want to do any further business with them because they are not trustworthy. I will be sharing this experience with anyone that will listen or do something about this until the situation is taken care of.

I love my Vehicles!!

by SalidaDawn on 10/18/2014

I purchased a used car from this location in April of 2014. I was very pleased with the service and the people at the location. So I said to others and myself if I every purchase another car, It will defiantly be from Carl Black of Kennesaw. So what did I do, I purchased a brand new 2014 GMC Acadia this month (October). It did not take me long at all to come back for my second vehicle. Mike (who wears the "Red Cap") Was extremely helpful with both vehicles I purchased. Thanks MIKE!!! P.S. I will be back to purchase my third car my the end of the year!!! I love you Guys. Thank you so much for your Hospitality!!

The Best

by wrbakerjr on 05/23/2014

I dealt with 3 sales persons, going from internet sales, to sales manager to salesperson. All of the transformation to all 3 parties was seamless and I always felt that each of them had my personal attention. I even had a new trainee with us who finalized the hand off to my vehicle. I am so impressed with your team and how well you all work together to get the job done!!!! And a great Thanks to the finance manager who made my dreams come true... A Buick fan for life now! Keep up the good work. No wonder you are the #1 in the Southeast.
