Worst dealership experience ever

by LisaAvaTui on 03/25/2021

Extremely dishonest dealership. We found the used car we wanted. Another salesperson HID the keys so no one could drive it. The tire was also flat. Finally, keys found and GM said would fix tire. After hours of messing around, we had to leave at 4:30. Called back at open the next morning and we’re told the car had sold—overnight—while the tire was being fixed. Tried to get a straight answer from Thor, the online sales manager. He promised to inquire and call us back 3 times but never did. He finally transferred us to the manager’s voicemail. The manager did not call back, either. What a waste of two days. Our guess is that a salesperson wanted the car and put every roadblock possible in our way. This place is the antithesis of service. Shady and untruthful. Worst dealership experience ever. Going thru Carvana now.

Worst Experience

by Martinez on 04/17/2019

I went in January in search of trading in my vehicle. I had previously spoke with Britney about my low credit score and being upside down on my loan. I came in with the agreement I would be there no later then 10 if I couldn't get into a car considering I was there at 8am. She promised I wouldn't. When I arrived I discussed my situation yet again. She asked me to sign a credit form to run my credit one time so they can gather accurate numbers based on my score and informed me it would be ran once. She had test drive a vehicle I wasn't even asking for. After being there 4 hrs I was then given my options. First was to put down 1k and leave with a $23 monthly payment more then my current vehicle or Purchase the vehicle as a 2nd one instead of a trade in for an additional $389. Not sure how this is what I asked for. I winded up leaving and She couldn't even say thank you for my time or walk me out she disappeared once the finance manager sat with me. We are now in mid April and I cam continuously receiving letter mailed to me about not being approved for various lenders. My score dropped an additional 45 points and when leaving a yelp review she had the audacity to call me and tell me to remove it and again couldn't even apologize for the terrible experience. This dealership is a bunch of scammers. Britney represents their company and honestly is the worst person as far as giving you what you ask for. Avoid this place.

Worst experience ever

by rkenney188 on 08/27/2018

I have never left a negative review about anything in my life before this company, but if I could save just 1 person from experiencing the unprofessionalism, uncaring and incompetence of this dealership, I would consider it worth it. We recently leased a vehicle from this dealership. The experience was so bad, from the beginning all the way to the end, it was unreal. It all started when the sales guy we were originally working with said that he had to finish up with someone else and that another guy would get us started. We assumed that this meant that he would return since the guy he stuck us with was brand new and obviously didn't know much. Unfortunately he never came back, and the new guy ended up taking the deal. He was a nice guy but most of the time he had no one training him or helping him out. It was just him and us and none of us knew much about prices, terms, state laws, random lease details and just information that we needed to know. Needless to say we were there a long time. Over 3 hours on both of our visits in attempt to get through this deal. Apparently one of the things that slowed down the process is because we were registering our vehicle in Michigan. When I first walked in I was told it wasn't a problem. What they should have said is that they just don't do it because it seemed no one really knew how to. Many problems were caused because of this and very little was ever done to correct the problems, including even simply returning voicemails or texts. We were also not informed of needed information when leasing a vehicle. First our payment that we were told was not accurate. We were not told that it was more to register the vehicle in MI or that the plate could take up to 60 days to get in the mail. Overall the dealership has just shown absolutely no concern, care or responsibility for the customer. However, most of our major problems were due to just one person, the finance guy Basaam. One of the final issues we had was when our plate was mailed to our past address after I specifically discussed with Bassam that we were moving out of that address and that we needed the plate and anything else mailed to our MI address. About 5 days before the expiration of my temporary tag the plate had still not arrived. I called the dealership many times over multiple days. I left voicemails that were never returned, talked to the operators who continued to tell me that the finance manager was finishing up with a customer and would return my call shortly. He never did. When I finally was able to get a hold of someone I found out that the plate was mailed to the Tampa address. When I finally talked to Bassam about it he told me that the plate would simply bounce back to the post office, and then to the dealership, and then they would mail it to me again when they received it. His response to the problem was one of complete uncaring and basically just a blow off. Obviously what he mentioned could take weeks and my temporary plate was up in a few days. Consequently I couldn't drive the vehicle for about a week due to my expired temporary plate and was forced to rent a car. I was eventually able to retrieve the plate back from the post office after many hours on the phone over multiple days. When we did finally obtain the plate, it was a Florida plate. I soon received a letter from the FL department of motor vehicles stating that they were suspending my drivers license and registration due to the MI insurance on my FL registered car. I called Bassam many times about this and left many voicemails over a period of weeks. He literally never answered any of my phone calls and never returned any of my voicemails. This is obviously unbelievable considering that this was all due to his incompetence. I left a review on google and was responded to by the GM, Jose Fernandez. He stated to call him which is obviously just a standard auto response for complaints. I did call of course however, and left voicemails, but once again I never heard back. Truly amazing how this is actually a functional dealership. I've leased several vehicles from Ford and Mazda and the process was flawless and the customer service was fantastic. Its no wonder that when I checked their BBB rating, out of curiosity, those dealerships have an A+ rating, and this dealerships was not. I wish i would have checked beforehand. It would have saved so many problems.

Wanted to get screwed? Buy from here!!!!

by Hyundai1022 on 04/16/2016

After multiple calls to the general manager 2 days after buying my brand new car the only person i could speak to was customer setvice who was very rude and did nothing. After recieving a flyer i go back 2 months later for them to right the wrong. What happened? Once again screwed over. Im not done yet. Trust me the public will find out at large how these people are. Including their corporate office. Stay true to your word Courtesy and quit lying and cheating people. I have a 2016 car and regret ever walking onto this lot. I hope to prevent someone else from being done wrong like i was.

Awesome Team Work!

by IyannaWill on 08/30/2015

I was more than satisfied when leaving the courtesy dealer. They worked with me and made sure I was taken care of. I walked in knowing what I wanted and at first it didn't seem as if I get it but with the hard work of the employees and manager they ensured I got what I needed. I was able to finance through this company as well and it turns out that that was the best option offered. I highly recommend doing business with them. They all worked together to achieve one goal and in turn they gained a loyal and happy customer.

Very pleased !!!

by Pita0925 on 08/26/2015

I bought a new elantra from this dealership last week. I can't say enough how fun it was to deal with the salesman here. Axel was my salesman...he went out if his way to see all of my wants were met. Mike Deleo was new manager that made it all come together. I've never been out of a showroom in so little time with EXACTLY what I wanted for the price I could afford. Well done guys thank you.

Great Salesman / patient with a challenging customer

by kyndra1 on 05/09/2015

I was an extremely challenging customer for this dealership, to say the least. Back and forth last Saturday & Sunday , couldn't decide if I wanted used or new, what would be best for my family, for me financially, what was best on gas, etc. I didn't want to make a rash decision. I wanted to make the right decision. All the while, driving my salesman, Ben Pierre, crazy, he kept a smile on his face and was so patient. He understood my concerns and explained things to me that helped me to decide on what was best for me. When I decide to upgrade, Ben will be the Salesman I would want to work with again.

Awful Experience with Courtesy

by sonata2014hg on 12/10/2014

Stay Away from Courtesy Hyundai Here's why from my experience: - After signing a first contract, they "lost" it and made me sign another one promising it was the exact same, but the purchase price was increased, mileage limit was wrong, and my monthly payment was incorrect. -They promised me I would recieve a Florida plate even though I was co-signing. Instead, it took them 3 months to tell me my plate and title had been waiting in my hometown 12 hours away the entire time. I wasted 1700 miles, 2 days of driving, gas money, and time I coudn't take off from my company. There has been no compensation for their lies or inconveniences this has caused me. - When I asked for help from my salesman who has "overseen" my lease, Mike Fonderson, about all these issues, he always had an excuse why he couldn't help. The financial Manager Mia Nicole Frem apparently doesn't know how to answer phone calls or emails, and she also has an excuse for everything. She refused to acknowledge me at the dealership and was very patronizing when I had questions about my account. - So far, I have been giving a "manager" number to discuss my situation but have received NOTHING in SERVICE or PROFESSIONALISM. This dealerships lack of morals is disgusting.

Mohammed was great!

by czern3 on 11/03/2014

I went into the dealership just to do research, as I was anticipating purchasing a new car within days and hadn't started researching which vehicle I would purchase. Mohammed was very friendly, and he never made me feel like there was pressure to buy a car or to leave that day with a car. He was very patient with me and my questions, and he was very knowledgeable. Because of my positive experience that day, I returned that same weekend to purchase the vehicle from him rather than find a dealership closer to my home in Orlando.

Car /sales person Terry P

by Hotsauce7 on 09/24/2014

This is my second vehicle that I purchased from Terry and I have no complaints about his customer service. He tells you exactly what he can do and then delivers. As long as you have some idea of what you want in a vehicle, you can leave the rest to Terry he will handle it. He has a good repoire with all of his frontline managers and he moves the deal so smoothly from one manager to the next. He is about the business and he does not play when it comes to his job and more importantly the customers needs. I am sending all of my family members to Terry when they are serious about buying a vehicle. I will send people to Terry if they are just window shopping because that is a waist of good production and customer service. Nothing is wrong with looking but Terry P is the man you want on the deal. My hat is off to your organization for having salesperson who cares and shows it. I thought customer service was a thing of the past but I know that it is the present and future of your Organization because of Terry P. I am happy to be a customer and a member of the Nissan Family. Thanks Terry for caring. Mr. Hartzog, Sr

Came in expecting the typical "show and instead received stellar service

by nissangirl77 on 08/25/2014

I was first called by Kimberly, then greeted by Ryan and then my entire transaction was handled by Joe the general sales manager. Pehnomenal experience with everyone. Although a long process ( it always is ) they made it enjoyable from beginning to end and I left very happy! Would recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a car while getting exceptional customer service.

No respect for a returning customer

by dhicks1 on 04/09/2014

I'm not here to tell someone how they should feel, merely to relate my experience. I purchased a 2012 Genesis Coupe from this dealership after considerable negotiations and have had it serviced there since then. In March of 2014, I received a mailer from Courtesy Hyundai offering me greater than book value for my trade in. Given the fact that I was interested in purchasing a new Genesis Coupe and already had 70,000 miles on my vehicle, I contacted the dealership, paid them a visit and listened to the deal they were offering. An employee in the service department (which I have no complaints with and does a good job) referred me to Dennis in sales. Dennis preceded to tell me that I had misunderstood the mailer and that they couldn't give me anything extra for my trade in. He then tried to sell me a 2013 (not even a 2014) Genesis Coupe for $6,000 more than the vehicle has been listed as going for, according to TrueCar.com This "deal" included almost $1,500 in dealer add on fees that were a ridiculous attempt at gouging. I promptly got up and left the premises, only to be contacted soon thereafter by the sales manager. He asked me my complaint and I explained that his sales folks shouldn't be trying to gouge return customers. He then asked my what I did for a living and said, " Don't you try to get as much money as you can from your clients? Aren't you trying to make money?" I told him that was not my view of an honest business relationship and the call was ended. I then called the general manager, Mr. George E., and left a message with his secretary indicating I would like to meet with him, at his convenience, to discuss my experience. While I was waiting for the return call from Mr. E., I received a letter signed by him indicating again that he wanted to offer me more than my trade in was worth. I again called his office, left another message, and never heard anything from Courtesy Hyundai. From where I stand, the fact that the general manager of the dealership won't return the call of someone who has done business with them for the past two years is questionable at best. Recap: I went back to Courtesy Hyundai in an attempt to extend our relationship for another vehicle only to be treated like a sheep to be fleeced. # no trust.

Best Car Buying Experience Ever

by bfcj on 03/05/2013

Submitted a price request for an Elantra through Edmunds. This was the only dealership that actually responded with an offer. We did ALL of the negotiating over email. In the end they didn't have the color I wanted for the options I wanted, so they gave me the next higher option package for the same price. Never had a better car buying experience.

I'll be back to Courtesy Hyundai

by amessoftrouble on 07/06/2012

I purchased a 2013 Hyundai Sonata yesterday through the New Car Buying Service. This was the first time I bought a new car on my own, and the first time that I felt comfortable that I got the best deal that could be had. Courtesy Hyundai of Tampa has been a pleasure to work with from the beginning, especially Bill Whiteside, the Internet Sales Manager. He understands that USAA customers are more informed and do their homework. Courtesy Hyundai was not the first dealership I spoke to. Other dealers were good as well, but Courtesy Hyundai really made me feel like my 22 years of USAA membership were as important to them as they are to me. Bill listened to my needs and wants -- and understood the difference -- and he worked hard to stay within my budget. He offered options, but never pressured. Bill’s professionalism and integrity made me feel comfortable that the numbers we discussed on the phone would be the same numbers we saw on the final paperwork, and that “come in for a test drive” would not turn into “come in to be sold”. The sales office was clean and well-lit, even though it was an older building being used temporarily while a new showroom was being built. Once we decided to buy, Karim Adib, a Finance Manager helped us understand the paperwork and all of our financing options. I read EVERYTHING before signing, and Karim’s patience was outstanding. He calmly waited while I read one document before showing me the next, and he never even sighed while I pored over every word of the contract. I’ve heard people talk about a “car-buying experience”, but Courtesy Hyundai really showed me what that expression means, and I know that I’ll be back.

Dishonest Sales Manager

by ubad4cstmrs2pu on 04/14/2011

I chose this dealership online based on a friendly salesperson who scheduled the appointment. I looked up invoices using Edmund.com and went to negotiate the deal. The sales manager used the trick of keeping me waiting for 70 minutes in order to respond to my offer. Then he generated a phony dealer invoice that was 4 thousand dollars higher than what Edmunds stated for the exact, bare bones model. After I was ready to walk out, he dropped the price. When I went to finance the deal with them they generated an intest rate 5X the advertised rate. When I walked out, they cut the finance rate in half. Do not trust them as they play games with your time and your wallet. They also required a signiture stating I would buy a car tonight, before the sales manager would quote a price. Very dishonest and uncomfortable experience.

I purchased a new Hyundai from this company and I am compeltely satisfied with my decision. Everyone here went above and beyond to get me something I would love and something that I could afford. They gave me great advice and I couldnt be happier. I went to several other dealers and this one treated me the best. They did what they said the would do and I appreciate it. i would buy from here again and I would defintely reccomend them to any one looking to purchase a vehicle. :0)

DON'T BUY FROM THEM!!

by thyscrwdme on 02/03/2010

I purchased a new Hyundai from this dealer and when I went to take delivery of it I found out they had LIED!!! It was a NEW 2010 and it had been repainted but they did not disclose that and then completely denied it. The detail person finally told me that it had been "scratched" so they repainted the left rear quarter panel. There story changed at least three times and ultimately I ended up without a vehicle because they could not find me one that matched the options I had purchased. [violative content deleted]!
