Deceptive used car sales

The used car sales process is old school. Push to sell unneeded extras. “Mistakes” in pricing. Their objective is to wear you down until you are too tired to negotiate any more. Walk away!

Super Easy Sales Process

I LOVE my new Rogue Sport I bought from Harbor Nissan. After test driving the full size Rogue, I decided the Rogue Sport was a great fit for my family and pets. The Harbor Nissan team was very honest about pricing right from the beginning and didn't play games. I got a great payment for a great car. I also had never leased before and was afraid of the wear and tear when turning the car in. I was happy to purchase the $5000 in extra coverage for a low monthly fee. Now I know I can just turn the car in at the end of the lease with no hassle or other charges.. that is if I actually want to let it go!

Drove a long way to deal with Harbor Nissan

I live on the East Coast of Florida. After being given the runaround by 4 different dealerships, being lied to, dealing with the Bait & Switch tactics. I decided to give the West Coast dealerships a try, because frankly, a 3-4 hour drive is worth being treated with respect and having the person sitting across from me realize that I’m there for me, not them. Today I dove 4 plus hours to potentially purchase a truck that I’ve test driven on the EastCoast 3 times. Every other dealer lied about pricing, finance options, availability...you name it. I talked to Haley (my awesome saleswoman) and she shot me straight! “Here’s what I got, here’s the best price I can do, here’s what your trade in is worth”. I made it brutally clear that I was driving 4 hours to look at this truck and had ZERO time for more car sales games! To my pleasure, Haley, like I said before was awesome, the truck was all she said it was, the price was exactly what we discussed, and the finance gentleman was exactly that....a gentleman! This is no exaggeration, I will recommend Harbor and Haley to any of my East Coast Floridian friends who are looking to buy a vehicle to Harbor, because you can’t get the kind of personal service that I received! I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Richard who kept me in “fishing” conversation while I waited for the finance guy to wrap up with his other buyers...your Grandkids have a great Grandad! Tight Lines my friend!

Very pleasant sale transaction

I was very pleased with communication from Harbor Nissan when I was car shopping. My sales associate, Grady Wells & Gene Gerald, Finance Manager were very friendly and professional and we were made to feel welcome. I bought a 2016 Altima and very pleased with it. All associates were friendly and dealership is beautiful. There was no hard pressure which I really appreciated. I would recommend them to anyone car shopping. Thank you Harbor Nissan.

Great Experience!!

This has been the best dealership I’ve dealt with so far. My salesman Richard Caracciolo is amazing. He listens to what you want and what you need. He is an honest man. He doesn’t try to trick you to get you into something you can afford. He works hard to get you into the car you want. I recommend Harbor Nissan and Richard Caracciolo to everyone I know. Everyone there is friendly and considerate of your time.

pushy sales

went to buy car was offered a standard,told them could not drive standard. That sould of ben the end of it.Salesmansaid easy to drive easy to learn etc.Sales man drove car home and never let take for test drive because can not drive car.I think this shows how little thae care just should not of keep going about the car after said can not drive and felt pressure and they just wanted sale.Even after complaning about it they could not understand the fact was did not do not know how to drive standard,NOt ever ging to auto market place again or harbor.

Love Harbor Nissan

I recently leased a new 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport from Harbor Nissan. I have never leased before and was very skeptical of their online offers. They were very patient with me and very knowledgeable. For $15 extra a month (or something like that ) I opted for $5000 in additional damage coverage so i don't have to worry about new tires or any scratches, dings etc from my dogs when I return the lease. I only put $500 down and was out the door with almost the exact same payment as advertised. I have also been called multiple times since I bought the car from the sales rep and customer loyalty rep. I was really impressed with how hard they try to take care of you.

Bait and switch

Performed bait and switch after I made the call and explained that my family was out for the count with stomach bug. I would only disturb them to come purchase the vehicle advertised for the price advertised. Truck had sold, "right away" and I was lied to. Absolutely unethical and immoral. Try Jenkins Nissan in Lakeland. They have never done me wrong and they aren't even my "local dealership.

After Sale Review

I was misled with regard to lease turn-in of Buick coming off lease. The dealership did not take responsibility for their error. I felt abandoned after the sale. My many phone calls were ignored. The dealerships voice mail system did not work, or they chose not to respond.

bad faith dealing

when i bought my new nissan i was promised free oil changes for the life of the car.less than two years in i am told sorry we no longer offer the free oil changes.What a ripoff.I should have went with my instinct and bought the Hundai. so much for honest dealing. Review contract carefully

I recently went to look at a car I seen on their website. I liked the car in good condition. The price was stickered on the windshield. Started going through financing, and then for the hell of it, the price increases 8k. When questioned about it they reply that's VIP pricing. They litteraly tried to bait and switch and get me to sign in the excitement, of getting a new car.

"POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE"/Discontinued the free oil change

I bought a new car from Harbor Nissan in February 2017 with 5 miles on it . I also bought the maintenance package which comes with free oil changes , so I made an appt on 07/27/17 to have the oil changed. So apparently the beginning of July they changed that to a VIP program that you don't have to Pay the $699 for because your already grandfathered in, BUT you do now have to pay for the oil change ($18.95) and many other services but at a discounted rate . BUT the person who made the appt did NOT advise me of the change ,in fact I didn't find out until I showed up for my appt. Then the service/sales person explained it to me and of course I was already there so I got my oil changed and my tires rotated, AND he said they would also vacuum my car (in which they DID NOT), He also said their is an App for the rewards program on the App store that you can download and get rewards on your phone to receive gifts/money for , in which I have contacted Harbor Nissan and spoke to several employees there and no one has an answer "How to download the App" . As well he said they would put the Harbornissan.com web on back window to identify that I'm a VIP member (in which they DID NOT) do that as well . Very dissatisfied customer , and will not be recommending anyone there .

was supposed to get free oil changes for life. As long as I kept their website on my back window. never got one but got a line of [non-permissible content removed] a mile long

Worst service I've ever experienced!

When I went in for my regularly scheduled oil change and to fix my air filter that they broke when I came in for my last service, They told me they wouldn't fix it. So I asked to talk to another manager. They said they didn't have another manager there right now so, we stood in the parking lot and called Harbor Nissan and sure enough they did have another manager there but unlucky for us it happened to be the husband of the manager in the service department. He basically told us exactly what his wife said refusing to fix the parts they broke and that we complain to much. I'm sorry for complaining about parts that you broke. We have bought four cars from Harbor Nissan and never had a problem prior to this year since new management has taken over, And one last thing and I hope you never have to hear it but, if they do something wrong to your car they use they saying " It's the new guys fault". Unfortunately I have had to hear it five times this year. I don't know how many new guys they have but they need to train them better instead of using them as an excuse for their mistakes. We are never buying a car from them ever again!

i had a good time here

i came in and test drove a car and got a 25$ gift card in the mail about 2 weeks later so that was cool and i purchased an altima 2016 and they helped me get into the right payment that worked for me so i am pretty satisfied i didn't feel like they were trying to shove a car down my throat like i have at previous car dealerships

Worst experience ever

My husband and I purchased a vehicle from Harbor Nissan's Auto Market place in Port Charlotte, Fl. I have to say it was the worst experience we have ever had purchasing anything. We were intentionally kept in the facility for over 7 hours. With many different couples coming in and out throughout the day. The dealership chose to drag their feet keeping us there with our 4 year old twins past closing hours. They told us they were going to get us a bank with the best percentage rate possible for our credit score. This was a lie, they got us 4.79% when our credit qualifies us for 1.79%. They also conveniently "forgot" 3 times to give us the carfax, 3 times, until after they pressured us terribly to sign on papers. We were very clear on the payment we wanted, and we were very clear that we wanted to check with our bank. They played on us, knowing we were there for a very long time, with twin 4 year olds, knowing we wanted to take the kids to see the fireworks, and knowing that all of the combined factors were distracting. We signed and left. When we got home we were able to discuss everything, read trough things and see that they raised our payment over $50 past what we told them we wanted, also read the carfax, we were told it was only 1 owner, multiple times by everyone that said they would bring the carfax, then found out, yes, one owner, but it was a rental car with 500 different drivers. When we took our papers back to cancel, with our 3 days right to cancel, the state law, we found out that they were conveniently exempt from this law. They have it written into the contract, they will not cancel any contract. When we told them we wanted to think about it, they twisted the numbers and words and pressured us and kept us there longer. Never once have I heard from anyone at their dealership that we want you to be comfortable with your purchase, not once were we told we want you to be happy with your decision. No, we were actually told and I quote "No one tied you to the chair" and I quote again "Not everyone is going to be happy". In my opinion, if these are the words coming out of your mouth, then your goal is just that, not to make everyone customer happy. Also, how dishonest does a company have to be to have themselves exempt from the 3 day cool off period? If you are writing this into your contract, then this apparently must be a problem for you. What was supposed to be a reasonably comfortable experience turned into one of the worst experiences we have ever had. Now we are stuck in a loan with a car, and an upside down payment. We want all of our friends and family to know so that they do not have to suffer as we did.
