Cox Chevrolet, Bradenton

by Mark222 on 07/26/2023

Dealer did good work on my car, but I held back 2 stars because my OnStar still isn't working, and they gave me an extremely high price on a set of tires. They did agree to price match a competitor with a visible online price, but only after I obtain a written estimate??? I may as well save some time and go to the competitor, they are closer to my house any way.

Dude, where’s my car?

by Paul Sanacore on 01/09/2023

12/22/2022 (Friday) 07:00: Checked car in for 07:00 service appointment for A/C failure. 09:30: No update on car status. Walked around service lot and found car parked. Asked “Service Consultant” what is going on with my car? His reply was waiting on the “A/C Specialist” to become available to look at car. 11:00: Diagnostics determined that there was an A/C line failure. And even though it was covered by the warranty, they would have to have an off premise consultant approve the repairs. And earliest availability for off premise consultant was 12/27/2022 (Monday). Hmmm…if repairs are covered by my warranty why do they need off-site approval? 01/05/2023 (Thursday) 11:30: Called and left “Service Consultant” several messages. 14:08: Finally was in contact with “Service Consultant”, and was informed that the Chevrolet Certified Service Experts initial attempt to repair A/C failure was not successful. And at the moment the car was being repaired and hoping repairs would be complete at end of business that day. Great! Been two weeks, and was never updated with repair issues encountered. 01/05/2023: End of business…No update from “Service Consultant” 01/06/2023 (Friday) No update from “Service Consultant” 01/07/2023 (Saturday) 12:17: Attempted to contact “Service Consultant” left a message. 12:22: “Service Consultant” returned my call and stated that he found my language in my message was offensive, and “he would call me when my car is ready”. And that he would play my message for the owners to hear (Boo Hoo). 12:30: Called “Service Consultant” and left a message asking for him to arrange for a rental car which is covered by warranty. Still waiting for information about my rental. Review: 1- Why does a dealership need outside approval for repairs that are covered by warranty. 2- Why wasn’t customer (me) contacted when service provider (COX) was not able to effect repairs as promised. 3- Why did customer (me) have to call to get an update, and assigned “Service Consultant” not reach out to update. 4- Why did customer (me) have to contact the service provider (COX) for an update on 01/07 (Saturday). When “Service Consultant” stated that he “was hoping” repairs would be completed by end of business 01/05 (Thursday). 5- If “Service Consultant” found my language offensive, then he should of request that my car service be assigned to a different More Competent “Service Consultant”. 6- COX Cheverlet needs to hire more “Service Consultants” or update “Service Consultant” training to include Customer updates with progress / setbacks of ongoing repairs.

Better Communication needed

by Gloria on 08/12/2021

My Insurance led to this place for repair. I was supposed to get a call after estimate is done and didn't get one till 5:50 pm I had to call to geico to get it so I called the dealership apparently they already started working on my car, I spoke to Joey and he is very professional and polite, I asked him, I though that they will wait till I get my estimates because I would have dropped my claim knowing I have to pay $900 out of pocket where I know There will be other places that can do the same for a lower price. Now I'm stuck with $535 to put back all the parts with no repair and at least $900 with repair. Better communication is needed to let customer know that as soon as you drop your vehicle works will start right there, that was never communicated with me!

Incompetent or a Scam?

by DoNotTrustThem on 06/25/2019

I was in town for a few days from Ohio and my A/C was not working. I took my car (Chevy Suburban) to Cox Chevrolet service. They charged $165 to tell me that I needed $1,100 worth of repairs to the A/C and would have to bring my car back when they got the part in. I declined. When I returned to Ohio I took my car to our service facility. They found that my A/C only needed freon and recharged. This cost less than what I had already paid to Cox Chevrolet to simply look at my vehicle. And now, my A/C has been working perfectly.

Stay Away!

by chickride on 09/22/2016

This is a lousy Company to do business with. They Don't change the oil in your car, but they charge you for it. They don't do an inspection of fluids or hoses but they claim they do. They are a rip off company and I wouldn't bring a bicycle to them to get it fixed!

Avoid Cox! Service Incompetence

by james1975 on 05/10/2016

Terrible experience at Cox. They use a sub contracted (foreign?) agency to field their service calls. Needless to say complete customer mix up. Was not 'on the list' and treated terribly. Never going to this dealership again. Telling everyone my experience and cant wait for the day MCSO drops [non-permissible content removed]. Cox is probably having to PAY to keep them coming back.. Disgusted...

Service Department Should Get a Zero

by lisalisa123 on 03/23/2015

Scheduled a appointment and was told I would receive a loaner car since it would take more than a day to fix car. They kept me waiting over 4 hurs only for service manager Roberto to tell me I would have to come back another day since they had no car that they would loan me. They where aware that I had taken the day off from work to bring in my car. They are the worst service department to deal with. Go to a different Chevy dealer for service. I purchase a new car from them and have had problems with it from the first week of owning it. Worst experience with a dealer they make promise and do not honor.

Complete non-communication

by ihateteeth on 05/15/2014

I purchased a Chevy Cruze from Cox, purely out of desperation. My credit was shot due to a short-sale and they gave me a Cruze on a lease. I was grateful for that opportunity. I was talked into paying an extra $25/month to cover service costs and any mishaps that may occur to the paintwork during the lease. I was happy to pay it. Since then, the service department has been a nightmare. I had to take the car in for a recall issue. Since it was 6 months since the last service I arranged for the service as well(40 mile round trip to the dealership) On checking in...anything you want us to look at? Just check and inflate the tires. Oh, you don't need a service. Plenty of life in the oil. Ok, just wanted the tires checking. Picked the car up and nothing done with the tires. Still under-inflated. Got home and received an e-mail the same day. Car is due for a service..really? E-mailed owner of dealership...no reply. Long story short. E-mail saying i can offset the money I paid for a service against a new Chevy... why would I do that? I didn't pay for or have a service. Anyway, I've already paid for service for the duration of the lease. E-mailed owner again... no reply. 2 more reminders saying I was due a service. Today, a book of coupons arrived with all kinds of discounts on various service items. I don't need these, my servicing is paid for. So, nobody at this useless dealership communicates with anyone else. I don't need coupons, i don't need a deal on a new Chevy. I need the servicing department to stop sending me vouchers and reminders for servicing they won't do. I need the owner to contact me and say they apologize for all these issues and they won't happen again. I definitely don't need another Chevy. I would never buy from this dealership again. In fact, my previous lease was a Mazda 3 from the same dealership where the servicing department had people with a brain. But, on the basis of the whole Cox empire, i probably won't even buy a new Mazda 3 from them when my Chevy lease is up...I just don't want to give them the pleasure of having what little money i have.
