onBig red flag! They treat you like you’re an idiot that never bought a car before. They lie, steal from your car and overcharge you on parts that are completely fine! And obviously they hate to be called out..that’s when they get even nastier.

onUpdate... after Shaver refused to fix my Jeep I called Chrysler and was given a case representative who suggested I take my Jeep Rubicon to another local dealer. So heres the analysis from David Ellis Chrysler working with Chryslers technician determined my Jeep did have a cooling system problem. Also per Chrysler Jeep, the manager at Shaver was wrong in his assessment and wrong at not investigating further the problem. At David Ellis Chrysler they did their best and worked on the vehicle a full week until the problem was solved. Lesson learned do not trust the service manager or mechanics at Shaver Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram trust your gut and call Chrysler if you are not satisfied. I will not purchase any more vehicles from Shaver Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram and will not return to have my Jeep serviced there.

onTook my 2005 Dodge Stratus, mind yourself I did not buy this car from this dealership. I was having issues with the car locks not working and other electrical problems. I had other dealerships look at the car with no results. I called and spoke with John - Service department, not only did he get back to me in a timely manner but explained the process of what he would need to do. John had a top service electrician look at the car also not only was I treated as if I had just bought the car there yesterday they went over and beyond. I also had my key less entry reprogrammed for me the car was clean and ready for pick up when I was told it would be everything I was worried/ stressed about was resolved. Its been awhile sense I have received such impeccable service and John made sure that was all possible. I strongly recommend Shaver Dodge and ask to speak with John Ext 153 if you have any questions what so ever. Thank you John and Shaver Dodge. This is the only place I will be going for any further issues I may have with my car =)

Poor Service

onShaver Jeep in Thousand Oaks has the worst auto service I have ever experienced. I have taken my new jeep wrangler in repeatedly for the same few problems and after repeated reassurance that everything was fixed and checked, the problems continued. You are better off going to next closest jeep dealer to get your car service if you want it fixed properly.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
by 05/20/2009
onI purchased a Jeep from Shaver Auto less than six months ago. It has ALREADY been towed twice and in the shop three times! When I purchased the Jeep, they agreed to remove the dents at no cost--after having to twist their arm. When the service department called to inform me that my car was ready, I had to arrange transportation to pick up my Jeep. When I arrived, I noticed they (SOMEHOW!!!) forgot to repaint the dents they removed. Therefore, I had to drive my black jeep with white spots all over it for a WEEK because that is how long I had to wait until they had "the time" to finish the incomplete agreement. Having to bring my Jeep back to Shaver Auto to be repainted was the first of four times my car was in the shop. Less than a month later, I got into my Jeep to drive to college and it wouldn't start! After learning the battery wasn't dead, I had to get my car towed to Shaver Auto. The service department informed me that it WASN'T my fault the car wouldn't start, and that they would have to rewire my whole car. I asked if they would pay for my towing, but they refused. I asked if I could get a retail car, (since this was NOT my fault) but they refused because I was not twenty-five. They refused to give me any transportation, even after I was in tears and told them I wouldn't have any transportation to get to school. His response was, "Sorry, I can't wave a wand for you." Therefore, I had to WALK to college for a week because I had no transportation. Three months after my car was rewired, my battery light was randomly coming on. I would drive my jeep around for a while, trying to recharge the battery. The light would never turn off. After a week of the light randomly coming on, I drove into Shaver Auto and asked if they could see why my battery light kept turning on. They rudely told me that I would have to make an appointment to get that checked out--they didn't even look busy! Any other dealership would treat me with respect and try to get me in, but NOT Shaver Auto. I ended up going to another dealership (who didn't even hesitate to give me service and respect). They ended up replacing my old battery with a new one. I am now back from college, and my car is (ONCE AGAIN!!!) in the shop. My car wouldn't start again, and it wasn't the battery. I was experiencing electrical problem again! My car was towed to my local Jeep dealership in Washington. Shaver Auto has really made my life difficult and has brought me to tears. Their customer service is VERY POOR. I hope NO one has to experience what I had to go through!

Excellent Service

onI have actually been bringing my Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 to Shaver for the last 4 years and have NEVER had a problem with them. The service is fast, well done and the people are friendly and knowledgeable. In fact there was one time when they repaired my vehicle before the shuttle van could get back to take me to work. I thought that was awesome. While all places have their issues I can honestly say that I am a happy customer and will continue to bring my vehicle to Shaver. Paul C.

DON'T EVER GO to SHAVER JEEP/Pontiac/Subaru in Thousand Oaks, CA

onTerrible, unresponsive service department with incompetent technicians who are [violative content deleted]. The prices they charge far surpass those of other nearby, same make, dealerships. You are better off driving a little further to go to a different dealership - it will save you time and money (ironically).

Horrible Experiences

onI have purchased two Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicle form this dealer over the last decade. Their sales department is good, but service is an extreme ripoff! The Service Advisors want to continuously sell you needless services under the guise of "maintaining your warranty". I hate arguing with these guys and I always get billed double (or more) than the estimated work. Case in point: I had recently taken my 2003 Grand Cherokee in for a LOF and a problem with an occasional low idle stall. That was Saturday. The service estimate was $350 (kind of high). Three days later -- service is still not completed and the bill has swelled to $1100! Unfortunately I have to pay it because I need the vehicle. Notwithstanding, I guarantee I will never, never go back there again and will not ever purchase another Jeep vehicle. I have had it.
