2018 Volvo XC 60

The purchase was quick, but waiting for the car to finish service before purchase was about 2 weeks. The questions about why service was taking a long time were not answered. Only after 2 weeks I went to the dealer and asked directly to the manager. Fortunately, the service was done that days, so I was able to pick up my car the next day.

Friendly service writer and answered all questions to my satisfaction regarding service and parts. The only issue I had was how long it would take, drop off 9:45am picked up at 2:30.

The purchase took way too long to complete, it should not have taken so long to finish this deal, the dealer did fix the damaged wheels to my satisfaction but did a less than stellar job on a paint damage repair, looks like they used whiteout to make the repair.

Auto Nation Volvo San Jose routine service - April 2023

Service was excellent. Scheduling was terrible: it was over 2 months from when I tried to make an appointment before they could reform routine maintenance on my car; they cancelled one appointment because "they were too busy"; a second cancellation (not their fault) was caused by a city wide power failure.

As is usual and one of the reasons we have bought Volvo since mid 1990's, the maintenance and repair work has been excellent. The only problem this time, was a delay in parts availability. Presume this was supply chain - post Covid time frame problem. That stretched out the time of car return [cf timeframe promise question below] but Jamie kept us informed of what was going on.

Great service overall, but a tad pricey!

Great service and they offered a rental while they took care of the car. They repairs were we’ll done and the whole back wiper looked brand new. However, the cost of labor was more than I was expecting, close to double of the cost of all parts. I know service in the Bay Area is expensive, but this was a couple of hundred dollars more than I was expecting.

Sales Manager Likes to Bait and Switch

The Sales Manager is shady. Agrees to terms, only to have those terms changed when I start looking at the fine print during signing. Happened with multiple issues. When I go to question him, he then changes his story. I've bought many vehicles, some from other AutoNation dealerships, never had someone change his story so much after we've verbally agreed to certain terms. Ended up paying a higher interest rate than was originally communicated, ended up paying more for the warranty than originally agreed to. Very disappointed. Edit: I did have to take the CPO vehicle in for alignment because it wasn't done right as part of the CPO process. That being said, I will give credit where it is due. Emir as a Service Advisor did an amazing job, he is the one person that we dealt with at the dealership who seemed to have his act together. Friendly, courteous, knowledgeable.

Pleasant Experience Leasing 2023 XC40 Recharge

We had a great experience from start to finish when we leased our 2023 XC40 Recharge from Ardavan and his team at Auto Nation San Jose. He was straightforward in our initial email communications, didn't give us the runaround, offered competitive pricing, and helped us secure our new, beloved XC40 Recharge. We went to the dealership to finish the paperwork and pick up our car. We were disappointed when we were told that we'd have to come back in a few days to pick up our new car because a software update was necessary. It would've been better to have been told that before we drove from SF to SF so we could've just picked up our new car on the day that it would be ready. Besides that, we had an overall great experience and will definitely give our business again in the future if they keep it up.

Car buying at Autonation Volvo in San Jose

I just bought a car from Autonation Volvo in San Jose. It’s a comfortable place to do business. In fact, I bought a very nice used car there a few years before. I traded it in for a new hybrid version, inching my way toward full electric in the next few years. Autonation has friendly, knowledgeable sales people, who are approachable and easy to talk with. I didn’t feel any hard sell, which would have been a deal breaker for me. I’ve definitely walked away from places like that in the past! At Autonation, I even found myself chatting for a few minutes with the general manager, a friendly, helpful person. Usually one only talks with the GM if things start to go south. So that was a pleasant surprise. All in all, a good shopping experience at Autonation. Good people.
