Okay service
by 03/30/2023
onMy vehicle was ready in a decent amount of time. The service advisor was polite. However, I requested an inspection for my rear tire, I explained to the service advisor that I ran over a pothole and my tire was making an odd noise when reversing. He mentioned they would check, when I reviewed the work order I didn’t see any notes in regards to my request nor was I given an update. My tire continues to make the same nose but I will choose another dealership.

Work not performed!
by 12/27/2015
onI purchased my car from MK Smith in November 2011. All of my services and repairs have been done at their dealership. My last service was in December 2015 and this will be the last time I use their services. When I picked up my car the air pressure in my tires had not been adjusted which is a state law in California, my service writer and and I had even talked about past experiences with the same issue. Also a portion of items that were supposed to be inspected were not and that is not the first time with that issue either. I called one of the owners and spoke to him about the problem and asked for my money back which I received but no apology at all. A lot their customers are not able to correct problems left undone like the ones I had to correct, they depend on the dealership to do a good job which is not happening all the time. I myself have had problems on several occasions.

MK Smith has outstanding customer service
by 07/20/2015
onI refuse to have any of my cars serviced anywhere but MK Smith Chevrolet. Their service is outstanding, and I never feel like they are trying to "upsell" additional services that aren't necessary. They communicate with you through the day, as they work on your car and they do all they can to return your car to you on time, at a reasonable cost.

fair service department
by 03/10/2015
onI came in with a check engine and traction control problem. I was quoted 110 for a diagnostic review. The car was delivered to me at the same time promised with no charge due to a hose to the throttle body coming loose. I had the car serviced a week before a tune up, so this was all done for free. Thanks MK I always go to you for service. (Thanks Catherine Lefler)

2013 Sonic filter
by 01/02/2015
onWe took it in and a filter had to be replaced. It was done well before the specified time and everyone was courteous and kind. Have only been dealing with them for less than a year but would highly recommend!

Unneccessary Repairs
by 06/26/2013
onI was traveling thru California while moving to my new military duty station when I noticed a great deal of fluid inside my left front tire well, but nothing inside my engine compartment so I did not know where the fluid was coming from. I took my vehicle to MK Chevy to determine what the problem was. The service rep called me and informed me that the Hydro-booster was leaking and the repair would cost $1095 for repair. I instructed him to repair the part. After leaving CA and driving to El Paso, TX, the same fluids were inside my tire well again. I took my vehicle to Mission Chevy dealer in El Paso, who showed me where the fluid was coming from and that it was not a leak at all, but a function of the Vent tube that was located next to the opening of the front left tire well. I explained to him that I paid to have the hydro-booster replaced to solve this leak and the expression on his face said it all as he showed me the location of the hydro-booster and the very unlikely probability for the fluids in the tire well to come from that part without some signs of fluids in the engine compartment, on the firewall, or the hood. He corrected the channeling of the tube and placed a filter on the vent tube as a solution from the fluids from gathering in the tire well, however, this was a natural process for the vehicle and nothing was broken. I have had no sign of fluid in my tire well after the Mission Chevy dealer did the right thing. I attempted to get MK Chevy Asst Manager, Brian P. to admit that the part did not need to be replaced. However, he refused to admit that if the hydro-booster part which is located on the upper back left side of the engine compartment next to the firewall was leaking that there would have been some sign of fluids in the engine compartment or on the hood due the air blowing the fluids around. They refuse to admit any wrong doing or that the part was not required to be changed. The service department took me for $1095 for a repair that did not correct the problem. The GM Customer Service was not helpful at all in assisting me get my money back. The dealership Manager has failed to return a call to me after he was supposed to check into the unnecessary repairs.

Another Disappointment
by 07/30/2010
onI purchased my 08 Silverado from MK Smith. I had some minor issues to begin with, which this dealership fixed no problem. However, I started having issues with the Slip Yoke. They were good at first about trying to fix the problem. However, as the problem persisted, thye were less and less willing to help. When the Transmission Cooler cracked, causing a major problem, they stated that it was not covered under warranty. So I had it fixed out of pocket at another facility. I brought it back for the continuing Slip Yoke problem, and a Rough Idle problem that just cropped up. They could not diagnose the Idle problem, but claimed that they had lubed the Slip Yoke, as they had in the past. On this visit, the truck came out of the service bay with a loud noise coming out of the engine compartment, which ended up being the Belt Tensioner. The Service Advisor tried to claim that the Tensioner had been replaced with another prior to their replaing it that day, which was totally false. Since I was becoming unhappy with the attitiude of the Service Advisor that had been helping me with the problems I had been having, I decided to take it to Glendora Chevrolet. Glendora Chevy was unable to diagnose the idle problem, but when I told them about the Transmission Cooler problem, they said it should have been covered under warranty and MK Smith had given me incorrect information. They also told me that the Slip Yoke needed lubing. I told the advisor that it had been lubed 2 weeks earlier at MK Smith, and had the paperwork to prove it. They told me there was almost no grease in it and it should be lubed ASAP, and the advisor put it in writing, which I took back to MK Smith to show to them. Funny, they took it back in to lube in no time flat, and no one was around when I picked up the vehicle to talk to about the situation. Since this time, I have been taking my "truck from hell" to Glendora Chevrolet for all the issues I've been having with this vehicle and they have been much better to deal with.
