Took car, haven't paid us after 1.5 months!

by RChesterton on 12/22/2020

Agreed to buy our used Mazda. We gave them the car in early November. As of today, December 22 (over a month and a half later), they still haven’t paid us for the car. Staff continually lie, promising calls back which never materialize and have promised on multiple occasions that the “check has been cut” only for someone else to later tell us it hasn’t. At this point, I have no faith that we will ever see the money. A deceitful [non-permissible content removed]. Avoid at all costs

Very Dishonest

by Lleiva66 on 06/12/2019

This people need to Try to be a little bit honest, and stop pressuring people to sign a purchase that they don't need, and are no even happy with. You can't even take your car for regular services that they follow you and pressure you to buy another car with fake promises on monthly payments. If you don't agree on the price, they insist showing you other cars making you confused on what are signing for. At the end you go home with a new debt that you don't need for a car that you don't like. Manager and sales persons keep calling you to come and test drive cars for a supposed deal price that is FAKE. But after you signed the contract and stop having that pressure over you to buy, you realize that it was a big mistake. Then they don't stop the process of the purchase, they submit the financing to the bank knowing that YOU DONT WANT the car; they tell you they will call you to see how they can help you, but they never do so. You can keep calling the same people that were calling you several times before signing the purchase, but they won't answer you or call you back this time. Of course, they got your money!!!! They don't need nothing else from you after you signed for what ever they sold you.

Excellent dealership

by saraanne1213 on 11/17/2015

I leased a new CX-5 from this dealership. I had a WONDERFUL experience. Everyone was very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable & not pushy or overbearing. I would especially like to recognize, Ashley Henderhan, Lee, Theo, Quincy & John Diggs. Each of these individuals were went above and beyond service excellence. They are wonderful with customers and most of all genuine people. Thanks again for all your efforts and help in getting my new car. I love it!

Wouldn't honor internet price and tried to rip off on trade

by BrianSmith530 on 02/20/2015

Spoke with Alvin Peter on the phone before making the 45 minute drive up there and was assured they would be able to assist in my goal of buying the car I wanted. After deciding on the car and finally coming back with numbers, the trade value they were giving me was ridiculous, but the price of the car and the "add ons" to the price of the car were even worse. The website clearly stated 2 specials, 1 for $500 off for President's Day and the other $500 off if trading in a Honda, which I have a 2011 Honda Accord. The numbers, of course starting with the price of the car was clearly not what was advertised on the internet, which I showed him. Then there was a $598 charge for "add ons", which he explained were the tint and something else that I don't recall. I stated that I was not paying for the "add ons" because I did not ask for anything to be added to the car, I was buying the car as it was on their car lot. He later tried to tell me that the Specials advertised online were already adjusted in the price shown on line. I then asked how that could be due to everyone not trading in a Honda, to which he had no reply. Walter was, what I can only assume as the manager of which Peter was speaking to in that "special" office they have to keep tally of cars sold etc. To which I can only assume has some sort of percentage gauged in for how much money they ripped off that each of those poor individuals.

Disconnect

by jaybee10 on 08/26/2013

Before going into Hiley Mazda, I gave them info on exactly what model and what features I wanted, as well as upgrade packages I didn't want. I gave them several acceptable color options for me. Then I forwarded them an email from another dealership with a price quote to at least match, hopefully beat. I didn't want to buy from that dealership as they were too far to drive to for any follow up visits after the sale. I let them know I was ready to buy and that this was the price to beat, that if they knew they couldn't do that, let me know before I came in so we wouldn't waste each others' time. Instead, they did a lot of the "let me go talk with my sales manager and keep you on ice for 10 minutes at a time" strategy. After 30 minutes, they came back with a price that was more than $4K higher than the other dealership's offer! A lot of that was in add-ons that I didn't want (and they don't offer the car without them) and excessive warrenty plans. Even so, the base price before the add ons and warranty plan was STILL higher than the email quote. I pretty much gave them a map to the sale: Come in at this realistic price that another dealer offered, have the car available in one of 3 colors, and I will buy it today. Even with this very clear direction, they just couldn't stop themselves from tacking on every additional fee they could come up with. I left immediately. I'm giving them 2 stars instead of one because the worst they did was waste my time. They weren't completely obnoxious, and no harm was done except 45 minutes lost.

Good buying experience

by RedDog2011 on 06/30/2013

I made the deal for the vehicle I wanted on a Saturday. They did not have the one I wanted in stock so they gave me a loaner car until mine came in. The following Monday my vehicle was delivered and they called me. The swap was made on Monday afternoon and I drove away in the vehicle I ordered. The sales and finance staff were very helpful and answered all questions. All the of staff I meet was friendly and professional. This is the second vehicle I have purchased from this dealership.

TOTALLY DISSAPPOINTED

by lohall06 on 12/08/2011

I am totally disappointed in my experience at Hiley Mazda. I bought a truck there last week and well, first of all, I drove it home and then realized that I had no paper dealer plates on the truck. So I kept my rental truck for another day and left the truck I just bought at home. The next day I went back and picked up the paper dealer plates and put them on my truck so I could drive it to work the next day. I drove the truck to work and when I left for lunch it started dropping all the coolant. Since I had barely put 20 miles on the truck I called Hiley Mazda and asked what they wanted me to do with it, figuring they would at least want to look at it and help me with the repair costs. No such luck. They told me that I bought a truck as is and they can’t do anything about because “I bought the truck for less than the internet price.” I was also told by the Sales Manager Jason Husfeld that “had I paid full price for the truck he would’ve put it in service and taken care of all the repair costs,” but since I got a few hundred knock off the price there’s nothing he will do. To me the question isn’t what I paid for the vehicle but if they are going to stand behind the vehicle they sold me. Which they OBVIOUSLY DON’T at Hiley Mazda in Arlington. The most infuriating thing about this whole experience is that I went to Hiley because they came so highly recommended to me by multiple friends of mine, I did a little research online and they had good reviews, and their “Family Promise” sounds good, so I figured I would be safe buying there. I have been calling up there and talking to different managers about this situation and I have been told every time that they would call me back within the hour and I have not received a call back once!! I have got nothing but the run around from them. So now I have to pay to fix the truck myself because I haven’t had a vehicle to get me back and forth to work for a week now and I can’t keep bumming rides. TOTALLY 100% DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS DEALERSHIP!!!! I will NEVER buy another vehicle here and I will recommend that none of my friends do either. In closing, I have been in management in customer service oriented positions for years and I have never dealt with an unsatisfied customer the way I have been treated through this situation. Had I, I would have lost my job. I bought from Hiley because I expected better customer service than I would get from the average sleazy "tote the note" car lot, but evidently my expectations were WAY off.

Great Hard Working Dealership

by jhalbert on 07/17/2011

This is my second car I have bought from Hiley Mazda Arlington. The first car was so easy. The second car took some patience due to limited availability. However, the sales managers worked hard to find the car and get me the exact car I wanted. We all got frustrated with the problems, however, they took care of business and did what was promised and ultimately I took the exact car home I wanted. Mara, my salesperson, was the ultimate in professionalism. She was so nice and so good at what she did. This dealership is a good honest, hard working group of people. I would highly recommend them to my family and friends.

Happy Customer

by yuppers213 on 08/17/2009

I went to this dealership after a horrible experience with [another dealership]. I knew exactly which car I wanted and we settled the price before I even came in. I test drove the car and the sales manager honored the price we had agreed on. I completed my paperwork and as I went to get in the car to leave, the sales manager told me that there was a mistake on the wheels and the upgraded wheels were not on the inventory and needed to be replaced with the factory wheels. Thankfully, the GM handled the situation and allowed me keep the wheels that were on the car, as it was their mistake. I would definitely recommend this dealer to anyone looking for a Mazda.

Love This Dealership

by karen44 on 07/03/2009

I recently purchased a new 2010 Mazda 3 that I absolutely love! The Hiley sales staff were friendly and made the process very easy. I've dealt with the service department in the past and had nothing but good things to say. So when it came time to trade my 2006 Mazda 3 thats the first and last place I went. Fair prices and honest salestaff, very impressed. I will definitely send friends and family to the HIleys.

Will never go back to this place

by netbuchs on 03/31/2009

The sales manager and the finance guys are the worst people I have had business with. I bought a car and the end they added me all the warranties that I actually did not wanted or could not afford. When I signed the loan papers, they were hiding all details of the warranties on the loan. When I got home, I noticed and realized all the tricks they used to get me to buy those $ 5,000 warranties. Luckily, I noticed soon enough (less than 30 days) and got refund from the warranties companies. I will never recommend anybody to buy a car from this dealership.

Get it in writing

by gmeazell on 09/30/2008

I went to this dealer to look at a 2006 Sebring convertible. I had just left the dealer Car Stop because they refused to budge on their price for a similar car. I told the salesman my story and he got his manager to knock $600 off the price for the car. It was already competitively priced, so it was a good deal. The salesman and all the people I met there were nice, professional people, with the exception of being completely disorganized. I agreed the buy the car in the first fifteen minutes. By the time I drove it off the lot, it was three hours later! They even forgot to give me temporary plates for the car. There was a document that I needed to provide that I didn't have. They agreed to allow me to fax it in on the following business day. I did and they lost it. While waiting, other customers were complaining about the time it took to close the deal. However, their disorganization is not the source of my problem with them. When I first saw the car, they had just gotten it and had not cleaned it up, including repairing some scratches and a couple of small dents and dings. I wanted to drive it home that night, so the salesman offered to come get the car during the week and get all the issues addressed. When he returned with the car, they had only fixed about 90% of the scratches and none of the dents. I asked him about this and he said his manager could not afford to fix those things because they gave me such a good price on the car. I would have raised a stink, but I really liked the car and I didn't want to get into a protracted battle with them. However, I should have gotten it in writing before it was a done deal.

Loss of Business

by sub840st on 09/23/2008

Sales 101 is: Know your customer. That is not this dealership. They had a Cowboys party going on or something because the guys were in their cowboy jerseys and girls were more dressed to strip for the party boys. The salesman we worked with didn't listen to a thing we said, he constantly put down everything about us to how much people make and what they do for a living. This is a person who just didn't get it and when we finally didn't decide to purchase a car we went a different Hiley lot we got everything we wanted and a higher trim in the vehicle for a better price then what the Hiley Arlington one was trying to sale us. I would go back to Hiley Hurst in a heart beat to work with professional sales people who looked the part as well.

Shady Behavior

by cab2008 on 05/23/2008

I went to the dealership with a blank check from my bank to buy a used car, informed the salesman I had all my financing taken care of and didn't need any credit application. After deciding on a car, we sat down to come up with a price for the car, he asked me for my social security number and birth date. I told him I didn't want my credit ran, that I didn't need financing. He said it was just to verify my identity for the car title. I told him I didn't want my credit ran again, and that he better not do look up my credit, he assured me it was only for identification purposes and for the "Patriot Act", yeah right. I eventually gave him my information, but specifically told him not to try and run my credit. Needless to say, they did. Not only that, the car I was planning to buy was completely out of gas, they told me they would fill it up before I left, but they didn't. Then they told me to go ahead and put gas in the car and when i came back to have my car detailed, they would reimburse me for the gas. I took the car home over night. The next day I got an email from my credit monitoring service notifying me that an inquiry was made on credit file, from guess who. I, immediately drove the car back and returned it. When I asked for my reimbursement for my gas, the salesman told me to go ahead and drive it around some more and waste the gas. What a joke of a dealership. I took the salesman almost a whole hour just to quote me a price on the car.

Didn't Want to Work Hard Enough

by dhawkins01 on 02/04/2008

I visited the dealership on a Saturday and met a salesman. Nice enough guy and seemed eager to sell a car. Drove an '08 Rabbit and went over with the salesman what I was looking for (options). Salesman said he would call me in a few days, which he did and he had located a car fitting the requirements I had wanted. It came down to price as to why I did not buy the car. I advised the salesman the next day that I had received a better offer than his for the car and he advised that he would call his sales manager and call me back which he did. He advised that he just simply could not beat the other dealers number and that I should be careful when I get to the other dealership as it may be a "bait and switch". I ended up buying the car from the other dealership as it was a good and honest deal. No complaints about this dealership other than they just did not want to work for the deal.

Don't trust them till deal is DONE

by dfwbuyer1 on 08/17/2007

Went in on Monday 8/13/07 and negotiated deal and got $4800 off MSRP (2007 MAzda 6 with $2250 rebate) but before I signed any papers (title guy was backed up) I had to leave for another appoinment. Put down a deposit to hold car and made apppointment for next day 5:30 PM. Arrived promptly at 5:30 PM next day to close the deal, finacing all approved by credit union, car added to insurance etc. Went into sign papers and price on the paper work had been bumped $300 (this was not dislcosed and if I hadn't double checked the figures I wouldn't have caught it), I then called it to their attention, the paperwork was corrected and signed. Down payment made with personal check Plus an AMEX charge and then they stated they needed some coupon from the MazdaUSA site to close the deal at the negotiated price. Of course I didn't have it with me since it wasn't mentioned the night before or during negotiations. It turns out after checking with MazdaUSA chat line that the coupon had been pulled from the web site on 7/13/07 and since I had asked for original price quote on 9/11/07 on the MazdaUSA site it was no where to be found and never would have been avalible to me. Any how, they refused to sell me the car even after I signed the paper (right price), put down a deposit night before, plus $3000 on AMEX and a check for over $8000 down. I even raised my offer by $150 and they still wouldn't sell it to me stating I wouldn't be happy with them. I guess they were worried about the "CSI Scores" (customer satifaction index). In the end I don't think they would have sold it for what the original papers showed ($4500 off MSRP) including rebate as the sales manager on the previous evening had okayed too big of discount. Still waiting on the $3000 credit to my AMEX card as off 8/17/07.

Certified Wrecked Volkwagen Jetta TDI

by certifiedwreck on 07/25/2007

I got screwed by VW and their dealer Hiley VW of Arlington, Tx. I purchased a Certified Pre-Owned 2005 Volkswagen Jetta GLS TDI from Randy Hiley Volkswagen on August 25th 2005. I took the car into North Point Volkswagen in Little Rock to have the Fuel Gauge checked out on September 2nd 2005. The service tech took me to the shop to look at the car. He asked me if I knew the car was damaged, I said no. The salesman had said it had never been wrecked and if it had been wrecked they would sell the car at wholesale. The service tech at North Point showed me the fuel pump/fuel gauge sending unit had been broken. He said the only time they have seen this happen is if a car had been in a wreck. They put the car on the lift and found that the car had been repaired on the drivers side. We found bad welds, and no paint/rust protectant. Hiley paid for the Fuel pump to be replaced. If you look at the VW web site for certified pre-owned you'll see that it shows under the underbody tab "No sign of damage" I called the VW customer care line to see what I could do about the car. The sided with Hiley. I called Hiley VW to see what they were going to do about this.To which they said "There is nothing we can do." (general manager) I have had Hiley fix a seat belt problem. (Had to have it replaced a month later?) And Check four wheel alignment on the car. After I argued with the general manager about all the problems with the car. I'm tired of arguing! What a lousy way to treat your customers! I have submitted a consumer complaint form with the Texas Attorney General's office and the Arkansas Attorney General's office. I have also submitted a complaint form with the Better Business Bureau. As well as the Texas Department of Transportation, Motor Vehicle Division, Enforcement Section and the Arkansas Motor Vehicle Commission. What does this mean "CERTIFIED". Is it just a way to dump a not "up to snuff" car on an unsuspecting customer. I have talked with the previous owner. The "repair" bill was over $13,000.00! The repairs are still needing some repairs! Bad paint, some is chipping off. scratches on the drivers windows. Screws and clips missing. There's alot more wrong or missing. Hiley has put some of the stuff that was missing on the car, but they can't make the car not wrecked. Do not make the mistake I made, and put trust in a dealership that says they certify cars. 112 point inspection, what a joke! for pictures, visit [violative content deleted]
