Great Experience

by Jenny on 10/11/2017

We had a wonderful shopping experience with sales rep Travis. He was very patient and honest with us. He helped us find a used car that fit our family needs and our budget. He was never aggressive and gave us the time we needed to make a decision. He made the sale of the vehicle go as smooth as possible. I would highly recommend him to any of my friends or family.

New vehicle purchase

by funnana2two on 06/29/2017

I just want to say we were very impressed with with the professionalism that Travis provided to us. His knowledge of everything we asked was exceptional. He took his time to walk us thru everything from the intake phone call to the delivery of our new vehicle. We actually purchased two new vehicles from him in less than 90 days

Cole's great service

by CarloverRLKR on 08/14/2016

Cole gave us excellent service. We had an idea of two different models. Cole gave us advice on each, even through emails ahead of our arriving. Once at the dealership Cole continued great service. Thanks, love the Rav4.

Good sales experience

by deepa_786 on 07/18/2016

We purchased two used cars in the space of three weeks and it was a hassle-free experience. Travis Schubert was the sales person and he was a pleasure to work with.

Slightly Disappointed.

by JohnB0113 on 06/24/2016

I recently purchased a used vehicle from this dealership, which has been in business a great many years. Though I indicated my purchase criteria on several occasions and through numerous e-mails, there were still add-ons, such as extended warranty, payment plans, etc to my contract at additional cost which I did not want. While the overall purchase and experience was positive, I would caution customers to carefully read the lengthy documents (presented to me online not hard copy) in detail before signing, a difficulty I experienced as an older person with some visual impairment. I spent the better part of two days contacting "administrators" to get these add-ons cancelled. As a supplemental note, I am very satisfied with the vehicle I purchased.

Pushy Finance Manager

by toyotafan41 on 03/16/2016

I just purchased a Rav 4 and the salesperson was excellent! He was friendly, not pushy and I feel got me the best price he could. This part of buying a car was so easy. My problem was when I was with the finance manager, He was rude and very pushy. In fact he was actually insulting at one point. I know its his job to try to sell me extended warranties but how many time must a person say no. I was about 5 minutes from walking away since we went back and forth for about 45 minutes on this point alone, I just wanted to sign my papers and take my car home!

No problems

by babyoh3126 on 03/16/2016

Its been over 10 yrs since I went car shopping and I dreaded it after having a bad experience with Boucher in Waukesha. My salesperson was Kenneth Lippold, he did a great job and I would recommend him to anyone as well as the rest of the staff that I was in contact with.

Pushy finance manager

by GoldNotSilver on 08/26/2015

Our salesperson did a great job. The finance manager was a pushy, hard-sell [non-permissible content removed] who kept trying to sell us various forms of extended warranties service agreements. Had to tell him NO on four separate occasions. We've purchased new vehicles from many dealers, I've never been this annoyed.

GreatExperience

by LuvRAV4 on 02/28/2015

My experience was wonderful. No pressure just as easy and can be.The vehicle I was interested in was pulled inside waiting for me to look over in a clean warm inviroment and ready for me to take for a text drive. My salesman was very nice and knowledgeable and I never felt pressured. Great Dealership

unpleasant buying experience

by aspec1 on 09/10/2014

I recently bought a new 2014 fj cruiser ttue from russ darrow toyota in west bend wisconsin. I found the vehicle on their website, and called them and was put in touch with cole l., who remained my contact thru out the transaction upon agreeing upon the the price ( which included some extra stuff like trd exhaust, oem hitch, floor mats, door sills which I paid extra for and requested that the old parts be saved) upon wiring them the money, I went down to pick up the truck and kept Cole apprised of my itnerary and kept in touch with him thru out. he told me he would pick me up from the airport, but when I called him Friday and said i would be getting into town late around midnight, he said it would be too late for him to meet me which I understood and we decided I would just check into the motel and he would meet me at the dealership on saturday August 2nd, 2014 at 10:00 am. The next day when I showed up at the dealership and asked for Cole at 10:00am he was nowhere to be found and a guy by name of Mike offered to help me with delivery. Mike gave the paperwork and the keys to the FJ and I asked him where the take off oem exhaust and rear valance( that was taken off for oem exhaust to fit) were , as I would like to keep those parts. he said he had no idea and offered to check inside with others. when he came out he said no one new anything and to check with mike, I asked for Mikes cell to contact him and was told its dealership policy to not give cell numbers to customers and for me to contact him when I got back. on the direct line. At that point I got into FJ and started to drive as I had along trip ahead of me (2400 miles) Just when I pulled out the dealership and was excited and looking at everything, I realized the gas was only at 1/4 tank. so I decided to pull into the Mobil 1 gas station and fill up.(have reciept to prove) after the drive home when I was going to get the vehicle safety inspected before licensing it was pointed out to me the the tire size decal on the door jam(225/40ZR18) did not match the tire size on the vehicle(265/75-16) and hence tire pressure info was incorrect as well and this was safety issue. I called Cole and asked him to Send me the correct decal, compensate for full tank of gas as per window sticker from Toyota, and send me the takeoff parts that i am entitled to as I bought the truck with those parts and paid extra for the trd exhaust and oem Hitch. He said he would get back to me. After not hearing back from for few days, I decided to e-mail him back. his response was pretty much that i should call Toyota for the decal, did not even address the lack of full tank of gas issue, said the valance was thrown out, and they had the oem exhaust but it would now cost me $125 for them to ship it to me. I said they should make it right and as it was their fault as i could have taken the parts with me in the FJ, but were not given to me on delivery. After several e-mails going back and forth ( I kept the e-mails) he said I should call toyota and the cost to get my exhaust back had now risen to $150.

Took us for a ride :(

by buchanan1 on 06/04/2014

1. We were told $20,000 out the door, so we took off work and drove 2 1/2 hours to buy the car. Once there, they took hours trying to get us to pay more. We finally settled on final cost almost $1500 MORE than we agreed to on phone. 2. The ad online clearly stated, "PREMIUM HEATED LEATHER SEATS." The seats were leather, but not heated. 3. We were there 5 HOURS with our 2 children as they dealt with customers who walked in and tried to get us to pay more. EXHAUSTING! 4. The fast talking finance man said because we're financing for more than we had approved through our own credit union (the $20,000), we now have to go through this other lender at a whole interest rate HIGHER than we were quoted at our credit union, adding another $44 to our monthly payment. I later called my credit union and they had no idea why they hadn't been contacted for lending and refinanced me with the lower rate. I'm thinking the dealer gets a cut of a loan through this other lender and that's why they tricked us into using them instead of our own credit union. Pretty lousy seeing as though we were already on a tight budget. 5. The a/c wasn't working, and we called right away to tell them. They said we have to check the warranty, they wouldn't check their records. Took it to a dealer in our town who told us there was powertrain, and Russ Darrow Toyota West Bend never even returned our phone call. Went camping that weekend and had a HOT drive with no a/c....my 8 year old's feet were actually SWOLLEN from the heat! We called back, and they made us drive AGAIN so they could look at it. A loose wire was an easy fix, but still cost us $60 in gas and another day off of work. Then they insinuated we were over-reacting about not having a/c....it was that they wouldn't stand by their vehicle they JUST sold us and it ended up costing us, again TIME and MONEY that we don't have, AND they were acting like it was no big deal! It WAS a big deal for us because it cost us another day off of work, gas money to get there, and a very HOT camping trip with a vehicle we paid good money for just days before! 6. Tried to sell us a warranty for another $40 EACH MONTH.....the finance guy went around and around with us that we really needed it. We said over and over again that we just couldn't afford any more for a payment....we were already above budget with the cost because they were charging us more than we agreed to on the phone. When we took the car to the other dealer for the a/c, they told us the car already HAS a 100,000 mile power train warranty and that the dealer who sold it to us should have been able to see that easily! So I'm sure they get a kickback from selling the warranty as well.... made me sad that we were struggling to get a payment we could afford, and they were trying to squeeze every last cent from us, even paying for something we already had! Bottom line, I agreed to take off work and drive 2 1/2 hours with my children to purchase a car with heated seats for $20,000 out the door. I got there and found a car with no heated seats which now costs me nearly $22,000, and now lets make my children sit for FIVE hours while I help every other customer around and try and take you for more money, including selling you a warranty you ALREADY own! Should have walked away from the sale when they wouldn't honor the price we were quoted on the phone.. my bad. This kind of fast talking, tricky business should be illegal. Really feels bad to be taken advantage of when making such a large purchase. I would highly encourage you to look for a dealer who has your best interest at heart. Russ Darrow Toyota West Bend does not, I can assure you. The one bright spot in the experience was our salesman, Steve. He treated us like people and not a dollar sign. The finance guy bad-mouthed Steve to us, which I thought was very unprofessional, and what he said was not true of our experience.

Very rude

by tia_maxwell on 03/23/2014

I came in to check out a car and worked with Ralph. I was interested in the car, however; he was rude to both me and my mother. He was unwilling to Negotiate price and probably assumed because i was a young woman he could take advantage of me. I do not stand for that treatment. Ralph has lost Russ Darrow my business and any of my friend's, family's, and coworker's business.

Untruthful

by tazmanian2 on 03/01/2014

They tricked us into driving over an hour for a good trade in and good value on used car for my son....they offered us $2000 less on our trade than KBB and NADA, even after we agreed on trade price over phone...they admitted car was clean and just said they weren't going for much now....really a 2008 Honda Fit is not selling for more than $6,000...we couldn't find any under $8500 and those had a lot more miles....the sales manager Dave could not either...we will never return to Russ Darrow Toyota as they lie to get you in the door thinking they can con you into thinking they are giving you the best deal out there....they are NOT!!
