Team work is needed

by Gary on 09/18/2018

Great salesman. Knowledgeable, and didn't push the sale on us. The problem was when we said yes. We set up an appointment to buy the car, we get there and the salesman is already working with 2 others. I understand, he works on commission. But we were put off to another table and felt like we were second fiddle. Then to top it off, we had our financing through our bank, and the finance guy was backed up, so we had to set up another appointment for the next day. Then had to wait again! My thought. The other sales guys don't want to help out because they don't get a cut, but the sales manager does. Get him over to help out. It shouldn't take 6 hours after you say yes to get a car. If it wasn't such a good deal, we would have left

Fantastic staff and customer service! Great deals and warranties!

by Michelle_Johnson on 09/27/2017

I wanted a great deal for a certified pre-owned vehicle (CPO) with the best warranties I could find. So I looked online at different dealer websites for CPOs and only Russ Darrow offered a 3yr/100,000mi warranty for their CPOs. The evening before I purchased my car 9-23-2017, I came to this dealership to ask quite a few questions (I made a big list) about financing, vehicle registration and such, and to look at their CPO inventory. Within a minute I was greeted by friendly staff members and a wonderful new employee named Heather guided me through my eventual car purchase. She was very helpful and she answered all questions I had or found someone that could. She showed me all CPO hatchback vehicles under $15,000 informing me about features of convenience (extra trunk space), safety (crumple zones) and the like. Heather eventually found me a 2014 Kia Soul that was leased, had only 20,000mi, brand new pretty much under $12,000. That Kia Soul (which is now mine :D) also had it's orginal 10yr/100,000mi manufacturer warranty. Also, since I bought a Kia brand vehicle at a Kia dealership the 3yr/100,000mi warranty was upgraded to a 5yr/100,000mi warranty as a Kia dealership special! Two warranties! After I decided that car was the one we went back inside to discuss additional insurance and warranties. Heather recommended the Simoniz Diamond Plus warranty that covers interior and exterior cosmetic repairs such as stains, minor dents, scratches and such. You also get a protective coating called Glass Coat you can have painted onto your car (you have to schedule an appointment) by Simoniz. Also when buying the Simoniz Diamond Plus plan I got 24hr roadside assistance, no deductible for repairs, an unlimited amount of repairs, a lifetime warranty guarantee, and coverage or repair for damaged or lost car keys. With a warranty deal that great I thought it would be money well spent to keep my car in tip top shape for a trade in value. The plan costed me an additional $2,990 but over monthly payments it's only around $50 a month for all that it covers. After pre-deciding all that I wanted, Heather told me she would have all paperwork all lined up and ready to go tomorrow 9am right away when they opened and gas put into the Kia for a test drive. The next day I brought my Dad along to help me test drive, inspect and buy the car and very quickly we were off on a test drive. Everything went really good and Heather had a pre-planned test driving route with city driving, curves, bumpy roads, highway driving, a good route. When we got back we were happy with the car and we went through all of the insurance processing and financing on the double because I had to be to work later that day. A thank you to Sony, Heather and the car detailing staff, all staff for hurrying. The staff did a really good job and rushed it just to make a customer happy with excellent service. Which I was and am. It really was hassle free, quick and easy, they did all the work for me! I got more than I paid for that's for sure! ;) And at a little after 9am Monday morning I got a phone call from their service department about scheduling an appointment to have the Glass Coat applied and a full size spare tire put in (which I bought) Friday. Fantastic job everyone! Thank you so much!

Read the reviews, glad I went anyway! Great Service

by DawnS88 on 10/29/2016

Car buying is a painful experience, however Russ Darrow in Waukesha did an awesome job. From my Sales Manager Carlos, to my sales associate, Bill, to the finance guy, Matt everyone did a great job to make this important decision as easy as possible. I read all the reviews and was really hesitant to go to this dealer, but they went and above to make my deal happen! Give them a chance, you will be glad you did!

Wish I could of read before buying

by nothappy61 on 04/06/2016

My husband and I had been looking for awhile for a new car, test drove a few and I really feel in love with the Kia Forte5. Alex & Zack were great in sales. After going back and forth for a week I finally got the price down to something I could deal with but def not where I wanted to be. I got the car. After being told my first month payment was included and I asked several times when my next payment was due and was told one thing and come to find out they were wrong. After many phone calls and waiting for someone to return my call, I had to call myself. Matt & Sunny both have horrible customer service skills. When I called back to find out where we were with the payment that I didn't owe I was told that he checked with his staff and they all said they didn't tell me that my 1st payment would be on a certain date. He said at this point it's a he said she said and I would have to deal with the bank. Now 2 weeks after my payment was due (that I was told numerous times that I didn't owe) it is now late. Matt was very quick to go through the paperwork like he had other things to do after I've had just waited 2 hours to get the paperwork done. I'm very disappointed and will never recommend them to any one.

My first car

by Ford_edge on 12/14/2015

I Went here because they had the exact car I was looking for, and for a decant price. Went for a test drive liked the car went thru the financing process which took ALL day I was at the dealer from 9am till 7pm after getting approved I drove my new car home that night! And was told to just go to the dmv to switch my plates as I live in Illinois but purchased the car in Wisconsin after being told at the dmv I will have to pay $120 for title transfer and plate transfer I was quite surprised then I Get a check in the mail a few days later for I had no Idea what, come to find out it was for my sales tax that was never paid so had to go back and forth with the dealer and dmv on what to do as they had no idea what they were suppose to do but they have no problem selling cars to people out of state then I also found out they ran my credit thru over 8 different banks after I told them strictly when signing the credit app do not run it more that 2/3 times because every time they run it it damages your credit so now my credit score went down over 40 points because of [non-permissible content removed] I will never go to russdarrow Kia again they ruined my credit and made my first car buying expirence a nightmear

Good Experience

by lizbet41 on 03/11/2015

Had a very good experience at this dealership as I was looking for a new car. Everyone was polite and accommodating. Did not buy on the first visit, and was not pressured to make a decision on that day.

Terrible

by Jennak7 on 01/04/2015

First I'd like to start out that I never do this, but my experience with Russ Darrow has been nothing but horrible, unethical and so very unprofessional. I first started out at the Russ Darrow Kia on Wauwatosa, found a truck I really liked, went threw all the paper work but didn't like the price they promised me. So I left, a couple days went by they called me back from the Russ Darrow Kia in Wauwatosa, they told me if o came in and they have me the price I asked for would I buy the truck. I said yes of course. I went on sat there for 2 hours with no contact and she came back and said this is where we're at.... Still not the price I asked for. Talk about a waste of time. So I moved on went to a different dealer, I found a truck there and so they ran my credit. They said they had to notify me of something, Russ Darrow in Wauwatosa ran my credit over 15 times with out my authorization. He said they are known to do that if you turn them down from a purchase to ruin your credit. So I went to the Russ Darrow in Waukesha to complain and spoke with the manger Alex, he told me he would do everything that he could for me to see that Russ Darrow is bad, I believed him and he said he'd give me a good deal. I found a truck that I liked so I tried. However the truck had its service engine soon light on and tire pressure light. I told them I wouldn't buy it because of this and he reassured me that it was just a sensor and they ordered the parts and would fix it. Again I believed them. A month went by and I called and asked if they ever got the parts in, and service said oh it's been here! So I went in thing I was getting my truck fixed. They told me that there was no part for my truck and that it wasn't a sensor and I would have to pay for it. And as for the tire pressure light they said they couldn't fix it, it just needed to be recalibrate and I needed to go to the Nissan dealer. So after much complaint of all this, and many voicemails on alex's desk he never called me back threw any of this! Service decided to take a look at my service engine soon light again, Keith the manger in service said it was fixed it was just a lose clip. I then headed over to the Nissan dealer for my tire light and they said it's not the sensor like I was told its a lose valve well fix it for free. Leaving that dealer my service engine soon light came back on and a couple more miles down the road my tire light comes back on. I was very frustrated. I then began to look threw all my purchasing paperwork decided to look on car fax, which was never given to me in the dealer. I found that the title was salvaged rebuilt, but I couldn't find this on my paperwork any where. The odometer reading paperwork where all the boxes are for previous use or marked title doesn't have the box checked for salvaged rebuilt. The title paperwork doesn't have the salvaged rebuilt. My truck is worth less than half of what I owe and paid for it now! I think something is fishy here. I contact Alex at Russ Darrow in Waukesha, tell them what I found and he stumbles around like he always has and says he'll call me back. Well he's never called me back with any issues. I decided to contact Russ Darrow corporate where they decided to really not do much beside transfer my information to there legal department. (And I'm still waiting to hear). Now I received my licensed plate registration in the mail to renew my plates, but it has my old jeep listed as the car. When I went to the dmv they said that those plates were canceled and not registered to any car and the truck I'm driving has the old owners plates and there was nothing they could do. It looks like I'm driving a stolen truck now! I called Russ Darrow in Waukesha because this issue needed to be fixed asap, I spoke with Brandon and as I'm telling him the story he said he was going to hang up on me. He did! This company has been doing nothing but running away from every problem. This has been the final and last straw. They will have a legal case very soon, but I am telling and sharing this with all of you so that you do not shop for a car or truck from ANY Russ Darrow! You will be screwed over countless times, you will have your time and money wasted! Please share this, repost it and tell all your friends!! Thank you!

Lack of professionalism, stay away!

by my95tsi on 11/12/2014

This place is a complete and utter joke of car dealership. I've been searching for a Lincoln MKZ hybrid and happened to stumble across a used one that was being sold by Russ Darrow KIA. A gentleman named Troy contacted me and was extremely professional and kind, something I don't hear from every dealer. I explained my trade in situation and we exchanged emails and phone calls over the course of 5 days. They were trying to give me the best trade in deal possible but they would not budge on their selling price. I was very upfront with Troy on my max finance amount with $x amount down. However I made the mistake of continuously moving my max up when they wouldn't budge on their asking price at all. The most they were able to do was add a $1000 to my trade in but their vehicle asking price was about $3k higher than competitors. When it came down to it I discussed the deal with my fiancé and said we would do the deal if we could get 1.9% financing. Troy said he would submit everything to financing and see what they can do. Halfway through the day I never heard back and received an offer from another dealership I could not refuse. I immediately emailed Troy to cancel and that's where everything went downhill. You would think his family's life depended on this sale with how unprofessional he was. Here are just a few excerpts from his email responses to me. "The vehicle is the best price in a 500 mile radius", "I don't understand why I have expended so very much of my time on this for you to say no to something based on information that you already knew". He then had the nerve to tell me that he is no longer interested in doing business with me when I already canceled the deal I the first place, I guess he had to save face somehow. When I responded about his lack of professionalism his last response was "congratulations, watch out for those branded and washed titles down there in illinois". I'm sure any dealership would love to have this piece of work on their staff (sarcasm!). It's obvious that they lack ethics and professionalism and will do everything they can to make a sale. When the sale doesn't go their way they will then throw a temper tantrum.

Sales person lied to us.

by AGideon on 04/03/2013

My wife and I gave explicate instructions on what we wanted in a car. This included a car that would average 30 mpg, would include a trailer hitch and include a warranty in the final price. The special sales pricing was supposed to be equivalent to auction price. We were shown a Kia Rondo. The sales person said that we were going to go home with a car that day. We asked three times if that car would give us the 30 mpg we needed and were told that three times that it would. We were also told they would have a hitch put on and give us some kind of warranty. When we when to pay for the car they said they would order the hitch and we would have to pay for installation. As far as the included warranty, we would have to buy it. We found out latter that this car was not recommended for a trailer hitch. After seven gas fill ups the average mpg only a little over 24 mpg. After looking at ratings, this model was never rated at anywhere near 30 mpg. What they told us was an out and out LIE. After coming back to the dealer the sales person said they would try to find us a car that averaged 30 mpg. We never heard from them again. I would not recommend this dealer to anyone, not even someone I didn't like. In my over fifty years of driving, this is the worse experience I ever had with a car dealer.

I feel dirty

by keymaster11 on 06/09/2011

I now feel as filthy as the employees that I was so graciously bestowed with at my visit to Russ Darrow Kia of Waukesha. 1. They attempted to sell a paint protectant that can withstand FIRE! (he seriously lit the hood on fire). When the apocalypse comes, and your hood is on fire, your paint will be showroom new. 2. Without my consent the dealership snuck several thousands of dollars of extras into my Kia financing. So if you want to be lied to, deceived, insulted, and see a car get lit on fire, you have found your Graceland. P.S. Edmunds, i would like my 1 star back

Will Mess with your blood pressure

by chinacatsun on 06/01/2011

I test drove a vehicle on Friday and came back to test drive again and decided I wanted to lease the vehicle based on the numbers the sales manager gave to me on Friday (after I left the dealership, he called me with a better deal than the original "sales" guy). After communicating to the sales man that I wanted to go ahead with leasing the vehicle he said he had to get the sales manager. Fine. Like three hours later after I was letting them know I had to leave I was brought into the sales managers office to ...basically stall and waste my time. I guess they can not sell you a vehicle unless it is on their lot, or they couldn't find one or something so they couldn't process the deal with out the car physically on their lot. This seems odd to me but I have never leased or owned a new vehicle. After another hour of stalling they said they would call me soon when they found the model and color i was looking for, as the deal would be dead after the day ended.... a couple hours later the sales manager called to talk me into an option I didn't want for more money. I agreed to pay a little more thinking, WHATEVER! Can I possible give you my money and get my product? Three hours later I got a call from the sales man that they could not locate a car. I said thanks and hung up. Getting a new car should be exciting and I believe I should be treated like a customer not someone who has time to sit at the dealership for hours for NO REASON and then practically wait by the phone again for apparently NO REASON. I can't believe going to buy a car should make me feel like crap and like I've been played for nothing. I'm sure the dealership/manager/salesman find this hard to believe but I do have important things to do with each and everyday besides waiting for them to tell me they will suit my needs and leave me ...just plain p'sd off. Good luck people! Esp if you decide to go here.

Would NOT recommend this dealership for sales

by fourdoor on 03/22/2010

The place seemed friendly on first impression. The sales guy wasn't pushy or pesty, just was trying to make a sale by approaching when we were in the lot and asked if there was an interest in a car. Saw one that seemed a nice price range and the miles were ok. Checked the buyer's guide sticker. Saw that there was NO problem listed and all features were checked off. Took it for a test drive and ran fine. I had no hassles with the sales guy that handled the transaction. He did his job but when his manager came into the picture that guy was not someone you wanted to handle your business. He was that typical sure of himself, act like he's doing you a favor. If he'd been the sales man I had to go through originally I would not have gotten the car there. The lady in the finance dept. was a bit testy at times when we emphasized important issues for us on questioned paperwork shown. The sales manager disappeared after a brief appearance. But when I got the car home I was looking over the owner's manual to get familiar with the car features faster. I called the manufacturer when I noticed the light for the ABS they had checked no problems with on the buyer guide didn't light up. I was told that the car was never factory equipped with them. I felt they sold me a car with a feature I look for missing and implied that the car had this and it was working. I called and talked to the sales guy who originally I dealt with , he said the car does NOT have them and someone "goofed" to check that on the form. Then he said they weren't going to install them now, when I was stating I felt after 9 years of having them prior that I look for that when buying a car now. He brushed me off I felt. I got his manager (oh joy) that I've been dealing with since. He ended up offering me a powertrain warranty in leiu of the ABS that was misrepresented on the form. I was told it was something I could hopefully have the monday after the friday he first made this contact as offered to me to resolve this. That day arrived and the original sales guy called and said it was a problem getting it but they should have it by wednesday a.m.I waited 2days, went there after work and they did NOT have the warranty but tried to get me to sign off on paper that stated I was aware the vehicle didn't have ABS. I didn't sign anything that night, went home feeling I went there with a false impression I'd be given the warranty offered (which is to cover up to 70,000 miles at no cost to me as Chris had relayed). I was told they would see what they could do in getting this to me as that dept.handling it was closed. I was told they would update me on the status/ progress of that by fax if I sent the fax number. I did that and they replied in email that they were having trouble getting this (again) as the manager said he is at the "mercy" of the manufacturer in getting this. I had told him on wednesday when the issue of this came up that the owner after the 2nd one didn't get the warranty offered by the manufacturer. He seemed to disregard this and acted like he would be able to manage to do it. I was told last friday now that the warranty is something I will be getting as offered but it will have to take more time to get this arranged. He didn't state any idea of how long, it's now 11days from his first offer to me of having this was accepted. I'm only getting the run around as I wait for this to happen.I wouldn't ever recommend this place as they don't know what they are doing and/or are just playing games to discourage someone when they are in the wrong for something they had happen. I don't intend to give up on the warranty but I told him I'm not waiting for 70,000 miles to get it either. I doubt if they inspect any of their vehicles and wouldn't trust them to be on the level. Buyer beware.
