During purchase of a new Honda Pilot was offered an extended warranty. Told the finance manager that we normally did not keep a vehicle past the factory warranty period. Was specifically told by him that if we traded prior to the factory warranty expiring we would get a full refund as the extended warranty did not start till after the factory. Upon trading the vehicle prior to the expiration of factory warranty, went to the dealer for refund on the extended warranty. Was told that the extended warranty would be prorated from time of purchase. Explained what I had been told they simply stated I had been given wrong information and there was nothing they could do. Also could not explain why an extended warranty would be in effect during the factory warranty period. This was a very deceptive transaction.

I have been a customer at John Howerton Honda since 2012 and never had a bad experience until recently, with the purchase of a 2015 Honda Pilot. In the interest of brevity, my one star rating is due to the fact that the purchase price agreed upon verbally (and confirmed in a text message) days before going into the dealership was not honored the day I went in prepared to trade. The purchase price was not honored and the subsequent debate as I was nearing the end of our deal, made it clear that they were placing the "misunderstanding" on my shoulders.
