Worst Car Buying/Owning Experience Ever

onFirst my sales person Daine (who was let go for lying to other customers according to Scott the sales manager) lied to me about my loan and the vehicle I was purchasing. Then my truck was delivered with a number of issues the service team could not seem to fix. It took them 4 tries on the first number of issues. It had repeated warranty issues and despite trying to work with the dealership they were not fixed. Things got so bad I contacted Shannon Harnish, who based on her lack of involvement does not care about her customers. I had a vehicle that was having repeated issues and I was consistently told they would not be fixed unless they could be "replicated". I gave this dealer every chance to fix my truck and they repeatedly dropped the ball. Do not trust the GM Keith or the head service manager JT. They will do nothing for you. This is not a trustworthy dealership. The problems were so bad I had to trade my vehicle in at a loss to another dealership, because I no longer felt safe in it.

onI originally chose Gilchrist because they had the truck model/options I was looking for with a competitive price compared to other local dealers & were also affiliated with Costco's Auto Program which helps give them more credibility. My sales rep. Chase Byrne was over-the-top helpful, friendly and accountable for all of my needs and requests. He represented the Gilchrist dealership very well and I appreciated all he had done. Even weeks after the sale was made, I had several special needs to my purchase and he was always there for me until each special need was met. He is committed to excellent customer service. The other Gilchrist team members were also helpful & courteous each time I came by the dealership. My experience with the dealership, and especially my sales rep, was better than I expected as it is common to fear high pressure sales tactics and paying too much with car dealerships which I ultimately did not experience those negative cliché's at all. I will recommend anyone to Gilchrist and I do plan to purchase from them again in the next few years when my wife needs a new vehicle.

Fixing my radio

onMy radio would turn off whenever my aux cord was in. They updated my radio and now it randomly turns off without my aux cord and they managed to turn off the Bluetooth in the car so now I can no longer connect anything to my car. It won’t even let me make calls when my aux cord in plugged in.

Coolant level issue and oil change

onI was greeted and shared that I have continued to get a low coolant level alert on the dash display and that it was intermittent. They told me they would take care of it by topping it off. After I received the alert the very next day I checked the coolant level and it was the same. So I did research and called a different dealership since the truck is a 2017 Chevy has issued a bulletin that addresses this issue and I wasn’t informed of that bulletin at this dealership. The next dealership helped me.

Bait and switch

onYesterday I drove to the dealership from Seattle to Tacoma after seeing this same exact model listed on Autotrader for $22,700. After the test drive I was quoted $29,700 and the dealer stated it was a "typo" on Autorader. I looked on Edmunds today and they have it listed at $25,760.

onI drove from Kirkland to Tacoma to buy a car here, and I'm glad I did. I was treated exceptionally well, and got a great deal on the car. My time is important to me, and Mike my salesman was fast, friendly and courteous. It's a family owned dealership, and it's nice to have the people who own the place on the premesis. The finance person Mark gave me a great deal on a service contract, so now I'm covered to 100k miles for not just powertrain, but just about everything! Couldn't be happier. The new Cruze is saving me $400.00 a month in just fuel savings!! Thanks you Chevy and thank you Gilchrist family! You will be seeing me again.
