Stay clear of this place

by lemonowner on 09/12/2018

Al and Samie may make it seem like they are interested in assisting you, but DO NOT fall for the trap. They will sell you a lemon and hide defects in a car all while maintaining a huge smile on their face. They do not care at all about doing the right thing towards other humans. Totally greedy and outright shady. The car supposedly passed inspection on 7/11/18. I purchased car on 8/23/18. Only 30 miles put on from the inspection date. The engine block cracked on 9/1/18. I had to get a new engine and was told that my brakes were metal on metal and wouldn't work in 1 to 2 weeks. I bought this car for my 17 year old daughter to SAFELY drive from home to high school. I have now made this car safe, as any parent would. It is now my goal to make every individual who is interested in getting a used car from this dealership to be advised and aware of the way this company is handling business. I have been told that they are one of the worst dealerships in the area. They grin and say that they are “Winner of VIADA 2016 Quality Dealer Award”. The Virginia State Police are aware of their practices, and I’m making you aware. Please do not waste your time, effort and especially money on this dealership. It will only turn into a headache.

RIP OFF ARTISTS!!!!!!

by Mandy on 06/05/2018

My son bought a car from these fruit cakes ONLY 6 months ago....it has had to have multiple things done to it. It broke down again last night, took it to his mechanic this morning....they said it's a piece of GARBAGE! Not worth fixing! Would cost more to fix than what it's worth. Now he's stuck with a LEMON sitting in the driveway and STILL has to make payments on it!! I wonder how these people can lay their heads down on their pillow at night and sleep!?!? SHAME ON YOU!! DO NOT BUY EVEN A TRICYCLE FROM THIS PLACE!!!!

Buyer Beware

by BuyerBeware on 05/08/2018

We bought a car from Ella's Auto Outlet in January. Ella's Auto Outlet is owned by two brothers, Al and Samie (or Sammie or Sammy). Ella is Al's daughter. Nice guys on the surface. Very friendly. The car we bought started presenting transmission problems within the first month. We contacted Ella's about the issue and they said that's what the 6 month/6,000 mile warranty was for. When we contacted the warranty company, they gave us a list of repair shops that we could take the car to get diagnosed. The diagnosis came back that the transmission was failing and that it needed to be replaced. Cost for new would be $4200 installed. Cost for rebuilt would be $2700. The warranty only covers up to $1000. We paid $3500 for the car. When I talked to the mechanic who checked out the car, I asked him if this was something that could've happened within the last couple of months. He said no, that this is a wear and tear issue and that, in his profession opion (22 years working on transmissions), this car likely has had this problem for a while. Also, the warranty company said that they wouldn't cover the repair after talking to the repair shop because it was very likely a pre-existing issue. So Ella's sold us a broken car. One of the owner's, Samie, told us that he had been driving the car that we purchased for the previous few months and had put almost 5,000 miles on it. He HAD to have experienced the slamming gears that we were experiencing. This was confirmed in my mind when I called Samie and talked to him about the issue after speaking with the repair shop and the warranty company. He cut me off and told me that I had to talk to big-brother, Al, because Al was the primary owner. I waited on hold (ignore) for 10 minutes (no exaggeration). When Al got on the phone, we talked in detail about everything. All I wanted them to do was give us a different car of equal value. They could take the damaged car they sold us and put it to auction and recoup their money. We would have a working car and all would be well. A reasonable request I thought. He refused. He said that all he could do was give us $200 for a trade-in toward another car. After 35 minutes of talking, Al said that he would call the warranty company and get them to pay for a used transmission install which should fall under the $1000 limit. He said that he would also call the repair shop. That was 5 days ago. Al hasn't called me back. I'm not surprised. So, if you are considering buying a car from Ella's Auto Outlet (and they have A LOT of cars posted on Craigslist) you've been warned.

3 hour drive

by UnHaPpY on 04/12/2018

I can't believe my wife and I just drove 3 hours to look at vehicle that was filthy inside, fresh rotation on the tires (rear tires tread worn on the outside, front tires nice flat tread) to hide the obvious front end alignment this vehicle needed. (Steering wheel sits a little counter clockwise while driving straight) I called early this morning to make sure they knew we were coming and was told "it's being detailed today!" The interior looked like a mechanic that never washed his hands drove it constantly, grease on everything in the interior. Opened the hood while the engine was running and you could actually see the AC clutch was about to come off the compressor. All of this noticed in less than 10 minutes. Oh and the ad says 3 months warranty, the car had a sticker that said "as is" The good news is I came home with my cash!! if you go to look at a 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee Silver with navigation, don't buy it!!

They sold me a broken car

by James on 11/30/2017

I bought my dream car from Ella's Auto Outlet a little over a year ago. Since it had an interference engine with a timing belt, I asked the salesman when the belt was last changed. He told me the car was converted to a timing chain, I said this was not a common practice. But he assured me that their mechanic had checked it and it was in fact a timing chain. Something didn't feel right driving it the 200 miles home. I called the next day, the day after buying the car, to return it. The owner told me [non-permissible content removed] and that it was my fault for buying a bad car. Lo and behold, after only having the car for four months, the timing belt broke on my way to work. The damage to the engine was worth more than the car and i was forced to sell it at an eighty percent loss. The salesmen, managers, and owner were very unprofessional and made it clear they were only there to make a quick buck on every sale at the expense of the customer. I implore anyone looking for a car at a fair price to look elsewhere, because as soon as you sign on the dotted line at this place you are screwed.
