Berglund is the BEST

by 2500_diesel on 11/13/2011

Scott Dyer was our salesman, GREAT GUY, very helpful. Upfront and honest. Not pushy at all. I live less than 4 miles from another Ram Truck dealer and decided to drive two hours to Berglund, Better price better service better experience. Walt Frazier the General Sales Manager was terrific, Made us feel right at home. Brad Pickering Business manager-Finance was very quick with the paperwork. Very helpful offering products. Thanks to all the team-family at Berglund Chrysler Jeep. But do me a favor-Lower that processing fee. Thats a bit high but they more than make up for it in trade in and vehicle prices. But still lower it.

Not smiling after visit

The sales person, Sam, was helpful, informative and I felt comfortable with him. I can handle, and even expect, a little pressure from salesmen! After much debate and research, I did find a car I was interested in at this dealership. I am the type to do a lot of researching, noting taking and asking a LOT of questions. That wasn't a problem for most dealers (although a few actually made fun of me). I had decided on a car here. I shopped for my loan separately as I had read it was better to get that part done before going to the dealer. Well, I had my loan set up from Bank of America with a great rate (yet had not gotten my voucher). My problems started with their financial person, Don. He was okay at first, but then I had a few questions. He didn't seem to like it that I didn't understand the extended warranty charts he was showing me. I asked him to explain again to me. He did but was clearly irritated in having to do so. I told him about my rate at B of A. He said he could do much better than the rate I said I was quoted at B o A. Then he pulled out and started filling out loan papers with Member One at a higher rate and with a higher monthly payment than my quote. I questioned this!! He said that he KNEW he could get me qualified at least at that rate, and only needed my signature before he could check on better rates tomorrow (it was after 6 PM). Yet, I questioned whether it was binding if they "happen" to not get me a better rate and if I could just use my bank's low rate. He said sure. But I still was very reluctant to sign this binding-looking and reading agreement. I said I wanted something writing stating I wasn't bound to that agreement. He became quite agitated and said no one had ever questioned this in twenty five years of his career. He got up, walked out of the office, and told the manager in a very loud voice that I was refusing to sign the loan papers and didn't want the car. This was utterly unprofessional, embarrassing (there were other customers present) and downright untrue. I got up to leave and then my salesman came in to talk to me. I feel professionals should answer your questions to your satisfaction without becoming offended if they have nothing to hide. I strongly recommend NOT to buy a car from this place without going in with your money in your hand. I know I could not recommend someone so unprofessional. I think he was really trying to stick me with a loan I didn't want at a higher interest rate.
