Warranty Scam Experts

Beware of abusive warranty scams at this shadowy dealership where we had the worst car buying experience of our lives. We bought a car for our family from this dealership and paid a lot for the most extensive Nissan warranties they offered. Shortly afterwards, the car died because the wrong battery had been installed. AAA towed the car to a Nissan dealership near our home. The local Nissan dealer certified that the wrong battery was in the car when purchased from Sheehy. But in spite of having the most expensive Nissan warranties available, Sheehy refused to cover the repairs since we were still within the 90-day dealer service window and (according to them) that requires that only they can perform the repairs. So we paid almost $1,000 at our local Nissan dealership because Sheehy’s installation of the wrong battery forced us to tow the vehicle to our local Nissan dealer. They refused to honor any Nissan warranties. They also (ironically) used the 90-day dealer warranty to refuse to reimburse for repairs at any other dealership. We were abused badly at every level and now desperately trying to get the State Attorney General’s office to help us recover from this warranty scam.

They Will Drop the Ball Then Ignore You

If you have a current Nissan lease, do NOT come here to return and start a new lease. This is my fourth lease with Nissan and first time here and I will never return. I received my lease statement saying I owed the rest of my payments even though they should’ve all been taken care of through lease loyalty and dealer incentives. For the past 2 weeks I have been contacting my salesperson Tom and the finance manager James and both have stated “No worries. We’ll get this taken care of.” Or “I will give you a call back tomorrow once I have more info.” None of which have happened. They will drop the ball and expect you to pick up their slack. Neither of the 2 previous dealerships I dealt with in Ohio and Florida allowed any of this to happen. I would rather lease from there and transfer paperwork than go to this dealerships who prides itself on “making customers for life.”

Running a Con Game on Saturday Mornings

Two Altimas later -- one bought FROM them and they dare to try to rip us off on service. We came to them for a problem that had stumped our local mechanics since Nov -- a noise coming from the front right wheel. Instead of diagnosing it, Sheehy's mechanic and service rep (Javier) played a routine on us worthy of a SNL skit. And, THREE HOURS in, still did not diagnose the wheel problem correctly. 1) They asked us to PET the tires b/c they were "cupping" on BOTH edges! (Cupping is feathering/scalloping that normally occurs on one edge or the other and is clearly visible to the eye -- why would we need to "pet" the tread?) When we told them these were BRAND NEW Michelin Primacy tires from Costco, they told us Costco had obviously sold us "fakes." (No. No. No.) 2) They showed us the oil pan - dripping big golden drops of oil that was also smeared all over the bottom of the pan -- failed seal they said. EXCEPT a 10 yr old car with 118K on it and 6 weeks into an oil change would leak DIRTY oil; 3) They showed us the ceramic brake pads on the front and said they'd been installed upside down. (They were fine every time the other shops (two) inspected the brakes while trying to diagnosis the wheel noise.) 4) They showed us the "steering rack" and said it was "old and wobbly" -- so why does the car track perfectly and steers like it is on rails? 5) They mentioned -- in passing -- the wheel bearing on the DRIVERS side was "beginning to make a noise". OHHH GREAT -- except our noise had been CONSISTENTLY on the Passenger side since Nov when we FIRST heard it. And, 6) They told us our entire strut assembly -- less than a year old -- were "bad and broken" and had to be replaced b/c they were not OEM... 7) And, when we balked at all this nonsense, and asked for the "diagnosis bill" told us it had suddenly gone UP from the initial $50 quoted when we signed in 3 hours earlier to $150! And, when we balked at that, the mechanic had the good sense to tell Javier the Service Rep, "waive the fee." Seemingly THAT was the ONLY honest thing that happened in the three hours we were there. We were sent back to the waiting room for another 45 minutes to wait for them to take if off the lift and write up the "bill." Meanwhile, we took the car almost across the street immediately -- to one of our trusted shops who began trying to diagnose the problem in December. And, the TRUSTED Shop told us: 1) our tires were fine - of course; 2) no engine oil leak -- seals are STILL tight; 3) ODDLY the front brake pads (that they didn't install) -- that had been FINE three weeks earlier -- were now installed UPSIDE down with the wear bar rubbing; 4) the steering rack is STILL within spec and the new strut assemblies are STILL fine (they didn't install them, either); and, 5) The Drivers side wheel bearing is fine. The BEARING that had gone bad was in the passenger side axle assembly -- they replaced it and miraculously, the noise is gone! Oh, and one other weird thing was noticed -- the same rear rotors that were "fine" three weeks ago when they evaluated the brake pad as being on the verge of need replacement but the rear rotors were fine, were now RUSTED to the brake shoe on the passenger side -- somehow the whole assembly had magically rusted and become "frozen" while sitting for most of three weeks in a dry garage. In other words, not ONE of the things Javier wrote on the Sheehy Nissan bill as unresolved problems were, in fact, problems. AND, TWO other serious changes had occurred with my brakes in the three weeks between our visits to them. They saw the car AFTER the tires were installed -- and so did Brown's Hyundai who did the alignment (and never reported the very OBVIOUS brake issues). It really makes you wonder if the three hours it sat at Sheehy waiting to be "diagnosed" somehow created the opportunity for mischief. And, worse. So, as much as I have LOVED owning both a 2.5 AND 3.5 Altima, these are our last b/c this trip to this dealer showed us EXACTLY who Nissan is letting represent them in the service area. And, we OBVIOUSLY can't trust them anymore. Upside down brake pads and rusted (frozen) brake assemblies seem to happen on their watch. It is downright shameful.

Horrible Service

Now after a bunch of hassle after purchasing a car they will not give us our 2nd key which is guaranteed with a Certified pre owned car. They refused to service us any further. We will be going to corporate and contacting as many individuals we can to see that we are serviced properly. Also my previous ratings are not posted. Terrible dealer!!!

Tony Gomez is the best!!

We had to unexpectedly buy a used car this week and were dreading the process because of past experiences. Sheehy left us with a whole new experience. Tony was fantastic, the finance department was quick and responsive and the service center was able to get the car detailed and protected without us having to schedule a new appointment. Even though Sheehy of Manassas is 2 hours away from my home I would definitely drive back to purchase another vehicle.

I had been searching for a while for a very specific USED Pathfinder and was excited when I found exactly what I was looking for at Sheehy, in Manassas. I contacted the dealership 3 times that day (I was a bit exuberant!) and said I was driving from 2 hours away to come test drive it that night. I found out the Pathfinder was just received by the dealership and wasn't "ready" to be displayed, however when Hayes in sales saw my inquiries, he immediately went to service to be CERTAIN the Pathfinder was ready and in beautiful condition when we arrived later that day. I have to say that you don't expect such excellent service and help when purchasing an older vehicle, but Hayes went above and beyond, knowing we were coming from far away and that this vehicle was exactly what I wanted. Hayes made SURE that things got done, was very understanding, great to talk to and over-all a pleasure to work with. He cared about US and not just making the sale, which is why I will forever recommend Sheehy to anyone and most likely use them in the future. I believe Hayes is a testament to the type of people this Nissan dealership looks for when staffing their positions. So a huge THANK YOU to Hayes and his manager, as well as Edgar that made the financing part so "easy" and painless, in looking for the very best deal for us. What a fantastic team! I wish them all the greatest success! Oh and...my "new" Pathfinder is phenomenal!!!

Well worth the drive!

I bought a Nissan Frontier from Alex over at Sheehy Nissan of Manassas. He was very polite and answered all my questions. He was clear on the pricing and assured me my drive from Pa would be well worth it. I drove down and sure enough everything we discussed over the phone was true. I was pleased and amazed how easy the transaction was. The only thing that I would be harsh on is the Wait for financing, of course its a big purchase so it comes with it. Thank you guys and we look forward to years of owning this Nissan Frontier!

I just bought my daughter a certified used Nissan Altima on Saturday. Sami Noori showed us about 10 cars without any sales pressure or tricks. The Finance Department did a great job a getting us the best rate. One electronic key was missing so the GM will be replacing it with a new one. This is my 3rd vehicle with Sheehy Nissan of Manassas. My next vehicle will be bought here. If you have not tried Sheehy, I highly recommend this dealer. Thanks to all!

My wife and I called and inquired about a Nissan Altima. Alex answered and gave me all the information I was looking for. When we arrived he had the vehicle out front ready for us to test drive. We fell in love with the vehicle and after some not so hard negotiations we purchased it. The finance did take longer than expected .But over all we are happy with our purchase and the customer service we received.

Go see Wilber!

I have bought many cars at different places. Wilber was the best salesman every, he went out of his way to help us get what we wanted no matter how ridiculous it was! He stayed way past close to make sure the finance manager completed the sale and we was happy and even followed up with us the next day asking if everything was done to our satisfaction, he completed the sale and took the time out of his day to check in after the fact, no one else has done this. We realized the dealer forgot to install the floor mats, Wilber went out of his way to bring them to us! I am not a nissan person but will definitely consider buying one from Wilber just for the customer server! If you want your best car buying experience go see Wilber!
