Wasted my time

by LarryVT on 03/07/2014

Very high pressure sales. Not honest at all. They like to play sales games. They treated me like I was stupid. 1.Sales staff use every dirty trick in the book. They want to take your keys so the mechanic can look your trade in over. I watched my car from the window and nobody ever looked at my car. This is a trick so you cannot just walk out on them if you don't like their deal. 2. They want you to commit to a monthly payment, not price of the car. The car I went to look at was listed for $13,995 in the paper, but went up to about $18,000 once we tried to make a deal. They were literally offering me nothing for my trade in on a 4 year old car with no damage and only 45,000 miles. 3. They would not allow me to use my own bank to finance. I placed a call into my bank while they were wheeling and dealing in the back room. I could get a much better deal through my own bank and my credit was much better than they said it was. 4. The salesman kept having to go back and talk to his manager and wasting time trying to wear me down. They wasted hours of my time. I could not leave because they had the keys to my car. Do not give them your keys. 5. When I finally got them to agree to a deal they passed me off to a closer who suddenly had a whole different agreement. Looking over the papers, the price was different, the loan interest rate, monthly payments and trade in were all wrong. They do this on purpose after keeping you there for hours figuring you just want to get out of there and finish the deal. No Way! The car was not worth the price they listed in the final set of papers. I already had my bank check the NADA value. 6. I walked out to the showroom and made a big scene and asked for my car keys. They could not find them. I said find them or I am going to call the police. They were suddenly able to find my keys right away and I walked out. I will never return. The salesman, the manager and the owner all called me to try to get me to go back and talk to them. Never again. 1 star is too high a rating for these [non-permissible content removed].

We have the best cars priced thousands more than everyone else.

I and other members of my family have visited Freedom Nissan on different occasions even years apart. About 6 years ago my parents and I each separately were looking for new cars at Freedom Nissan and we were both quoted prices that were guaranteed to be the best price or they would match it. My parents put a deposit down. The dealership in St. Albans beat their price by over $1,500. Upon returning to Freedom Nissan they would not return their deposit. When I went to Freedom Nissan they also quoted me the best price, and the St. Albans dealership beat their price again. Last week my wife and I were in search of a new or used car. After walking the lot we went to the showroom. We waited for a salesperson for about 10 minutes until someone that was not helping anyone decided to help us. It took about 30 minutes till we were able to look at a car and then another 15 till we could take it for a test drive. We were not able to walk around the lot with the salesperson and were given the one car to look at. Even asking a few times to look at other cars we were redirected to the one car we test-drove. The list on the '05 Nissan Sentra was $12,500 and we negotiated to 10,500. After two and a half hours we left the dealership because the deal did not seem all that sweet. When we returned home we checked the KBB and NADA and the dealer retail price was $7,000. There was also some right front fender damage that had been painted, but not filled properly so it was obvious there had been previous damage. They also did not seem to acknowledge the damage. A few days later on the phone after telling the salesperson the KBB and NADA value of the car they are willing to offer lower prices, but if you say that is your best price and the list price of the car is over $5,000 more than the value of the car and their best price is still over $3,000 more than the car is worth.
