In total we spent +$2500 at Automaster Honda and walked away with more check engine lights than we arrived with. This is the most uncoordinated mechanic I have ever been to. After having the rear brakes changed on our Honda, it was displaying 3 brake related check engine lights. We brought the car in to Automaster for repair and were told the electronic parking brake on one wheel would need to be replace. Upon getting into the car after service I noticed many check engine lights on. The initial 3 lights plus ~8 more. I asked what the lights were about and was told "not to worry they will turn off once the electronic parking brake is replaced". We brought the car in a second time and upon picking the car up, noticed the lights are still on, we are told the electronic power steering assist motor “somehow shorted itself out” and that’s what is causing the check engine lights (the ones which weren’t on before we brought the car in the first time), and will be +$1500 to replace. Why were we not told this was the real issue when I noticed the lights on after the first visit? The mechanic denies it was their fault and insists the motor coincidentally shorted itself out. Upon picking the car up again, we notice the car still has all the same check engine lights on. Why? “Whenever you bring it in for the wheel bearing, those codes will go away”. What wheel bearing? “Oh the wheel bearing (on the same wheel coincidentally) is bad so it and the associated sensor need replacing”. When did this happen? This is now the third reason they have given us for why the lights are on (the ones which weren’t on before we brought the car in the first time). After bringing the car in a fifth time for the wheel bearing, all the check engine lights are still on. They say “we think it’s a VSA problem. Don’t worry, once you bring your car in a sixth time then we can get the check engine lights fixed for you.” No thank you. We brought the car to Della Honda in Plattsburgh NY. They immediately diagnose the repair (which was not the VSA modulator Automaster was about to replace), and the car is running perfectly with no lights/warnings.

DO NOT BUY FROM BMWAUTOMASTER

by automasterbmw on 09/28/2018

They lied about my cars history and it ended up being a rental car for the first 30k of its life. Now the engine is blown and they refuse to cover it. This was 10 months after i got the car. They have lied in the service department multiple times also. [non-permissible content removed]

Close but no cigar

We test drove a Honda Fit and decided it wasn't the right car for us. The saleswoman put us in a Civic instead, which we drove and liked. But it was the end of the day and they were busy, so we left. We had made it clear that we planned to purchase a car in the following week, before the end of the month, but we received no follow up, call back or other correspondence from Automaster. We bought our new Civic from another dealer instead.

Excellent

by New_Fit_Owner on 05/07/2014

Overall a great experience, coming from someone who detests the car buying process. I'd echo everything that "fisching" said above. We were also shopping for a Honda Fit and Natalie helped us through the process. Very straightforward, no dickering, no pressure. Super friendly and prompt service and we went home happy with a good car for a good price.

Great Experience

by fisching on 08/30/2013

We recently leased a Honda Fit from the Automaster. We are the type of buyers most sales people don't like. We do our research and know what we are buying and what we want to spend. When we ask questions, we want direct answers. Our sales person for this lease was Natalie. She represents her dealership and product exceptionally well. She knows her cars and is extremely pleasant and responsive. There were no trips to "see my manager". The deal was very straightforward and everything was exactly as represented prior to lease signing. Our previous purchase of a CRV went equally as well. Chris, our sales person for that purchase was just as professional. All sales are personal and the Honda sales team at the Automaster gets it.
