bought a certified pre-owned 2020 Toyota RAV4 XLE AWD

We went to the dealership slightly afterhours on a Saturday night to look at this vehicle I saw online. Mr. Vicente Valadez (a new sales representative) approached us and briefly attended to our needs answering some questions before providing us with the necessary information to schedule a test drive the following Monday when the dealership was again open. He was professional in every aspect and made the purchase process as seamless as possible. We are very happy with our certified pre-owned 2020 Toyota RAV4 XLE AWD.

We have always loved the maintenance service at Alamo Toyota and knew the sakes department would be just as great! Our salesman, David Munoz, worked very hard to meet all our needs and helped us build our dream car. We live in New Braunfels and are willing to travel 40-minutes to San Antonio just so we can work with Alamo Toyota. They are our favorite and only car dealership!

Amazing customer service

I have never had a better car buying experience than I had here. Amir, Mike & Abel were all great (especially Amir). We were immediately welcomed our first visit by Amir and he was incredibly helpful. I came in with a list of vehicles, my NADA value on my car, as well as a previous value from a different dealership. He went to work to find the cars for me and my dad to take a look at and was very thorough with the details of each model. We gave him a hard time and he never gave us attitude nor did he ever show anything but understanding and kindness (I can’t say the same for a different dealership we went to that day). When it came down to it, I knew Amir and everyone at Alamo would be the place I would want to buy my car. We went back this past Friday (10/11/19) and they did not let us down at any point during the entire transaction. I am very satisfied with the vehicle (RAV4 XLE) and with the entire experience. Thank you Amir, Mike and Abel! P.S. this purchase was very important to me as I am expecting my first baby here in less than two months. I needed something more reliable and Amir found the perfect fit for me. I appreciate all his hard work and dedication to making sure I loved the vehicle I was leaving in.

I drove in there with a 2009 Toyota Camry, barely working, they gave me a good price for my trade-in. My salesman was the best you could ask for, he listens, he was efficient, professional, and from the top of the organization they were all just stand up people!! Oh that’s the other thing, they made my experience fun and stress less. I drove away in a brand new 2019 Toyota Camry SE. I will definitely go back and do business with these Alamo Toyota!

Due Diligence

I took a Toyota Highlander out for a test drive. I absolutely loved it. The salesman was nice enough. I noticed the sticker price was different then the online price I found. I mentioned this as he showed me the all in cost of the vehicle paperwork included. He went back adjusted the price. Offered me a grand more my current vehicle. Which is absolutely absurd. I don't expect a full value either. So he finally found out what we were pre-approved for and magically that's exactly the only deal they can give me. I'm truly relieved I didn't tell them what we were actually approved for. So I would say do your due diligence. Know your value, the vehicles value is. Research and understand the process. I'm not sure if the salesman underestimated me because I am a female. I felt as though they were doing me a favor by honoring the online price.

Dealer does not deliver what promised

I have purchased a new Toyota Sienna Limited a couple months ago and we have ask the dealer to add a DVD player on the back of the seat and have agreed and included in the purchase price. Later the dealer added the DVD player between the seat under the head liner. Initially we thought it is ok but later we found out the DVD player was interfering with the rearview mirror and it is a safety issue and we went back and ask the dealer to deliver what we agreed and promised. The response we received is "Sorry but there is nothing we can do". I end up calling the Director discussed the situation he said there may be an additional cost and in any way he will discuss with his General Manager and call me. I waited for 4 weeks and never heard back from the Director. I end up calling the General Manager and he said he will look on this and call me back the next day around 10AM and he never call me back. I believe the dealer sold me a car and perhaps they realized I am not important customer anymore. I had an extended warranty and a 6 years pre-paid maintenance contract and end up calling the finance manager and ask him to cancel those agreement as I have no confidence in this dealership to do anything right if they cannot call me when they said they will call me for simple request. The next day I got a call from the sales manager and not the General Manager indicating " My GM ask me to call you and we cannot remove the DVD player but we can add DVD player on the head rest at $1225". I ask him is that what you can do and he said yes and I told him I am not willing to pay anything and we can leave things as is but I do not want to deal with his dealership again. A week later we took the car back for rattling noise that we were hearing appears to be from the back driver side window and also a whole on the headliner back passenger side handle. They gave us an appointment for Monday 8AM and my wife got there at 8 and service team did not what the issue is about and my wife have to explain them and then they found that a spare tire was not secured making such a noise. As far the headliner whole they said they have to take to another shop. So they offer my wife rental car. Really a rental car for a new car that is not even a couple months old after few word they end up given her a loaner car. Since we never heard back from the dealer late afternoon we end up calling ask for a status and was told we will find out and call you back and then never got a call back. To our amazement we end up calling a couple hours later again and then they told us they stretched the liner and the only thing they can do is remove the DVD player and replace the head liner. I said ok go ahead do that but make sure I get my money back on what I paid to the DVD player and he ask what I paid and I told him and he said his manager call me. About 30 minutes later the manager call me and tell we cannot replace the liner because when we install the DVD it is expected to make modification to the head liner. I told him have your General Manager call and the next day I went to the dealer the GM was not available to meet but I met with the Finance Manager and cancelled extended warranty and prepaid maintenance and left a message for the GM t call me. The next day the GM call me and he is still talking to me about not removing the DVD player. I ask him you damaged the headliner and what are you going to do to fix it. He said I am not aware of that let me find out and call you back, and still waiting for his call back. This dealership customer service is horrible. They do not seem to understand on how to take care a customer. They do not seem to communicate well internally. In this dealership the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing which is CRAZY. My message to any other buyers is beware of what you getting to once they sold the car the response and support you get may be as horrible as mine. I plan not to service anything on my car with this dealership.

Sales Experience

59 yr old male buyer- Sales manager Jeremy and rep David were polite, respectful and tried "very hard" to lease me a 2012 Camry L. Best deal out of 4 dealerships. Also, only 10 minutes from home. I regret NOT accepting an offer in early August as I am paying $18 per mn more. I was up side down on my current lease and didnt want to pay a larger down payment. Toyota polices need adjusting/consistent as I am paying for "state sales tax" that I didn't pay for with my 2010 Camry LE.

Good Experience, but do your research.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about my salesman John Portillo. He is very thorough and never did I feel pressured. I would recommend him. However, do your research on true market value of the car, and your trade. I held my ground and got a fair price for both the new and trade in. Alamo has terrific follow up, and handled all my questions and concerns professionally and timely. I am a consumer and have no ties to any aspect of the automotive industry in any capacity.

Overall customer service was excellent. Jeremy Simms helped me discover a car that is a perfect fit for my needs. He was extremely helpful and patient. All members of their team were helpful, attentive and welcoming. The sales process was painless and seamles. Car buying can be intimidating but I am glad it didn't stop me from discovering the perfect car for me! I highly recommend Alamo Toyota.

LOVE Alamo Toyota!

Last year I bought a Prius at Alamo Toyota in San Antonio. I have put a lot of miles on it travelling between San Antonio and Austin and I cannot say enough about the car. It rides smoothly, a lot more than folks think about a small car. It has as much pep on the highway as any other car I have driven as well. And, of course, the gas/mileage is the envy of all my friends. The other day I realized I was completely out of gas and still driving all around town…the battery had taken over! Everyone was attentive, knowledgeable, and patient…and I really needed the patience. The car was different than any car I had driven and I must have driven them crazy with questions…not just the day I bought it but for weeks later by phone. Every time I called I was treated with such kindness and patience. So I gladly give them the credit they deserved and five stars to you, Alamo Toyota!

Great staff on the internet

I've purchased 3 Toyota's in the last 8 years and Alamo Toyota gave me the best experience this last time when I got my new 2011 Sienna LE from them. They responded quickly and actually answered my questions, gave me a quote that matched what I had found on Edmunds and didn't play any unnecessary games. I would highly recommend them to my friends or family. Jeremy Sims was my salesperson and he was by far the most knowledgeable person I dealt with at the 8 dealerships I shopped online. I look forward to buying from them again in the future!
