Very Happy

by fred189 on 04/15/2014

We have been shopping for a new car for a few months now, mostly doing our research online and decided on a Toyota Camry LE. We visited a couple local dealers and one out of town. Our experience was mostly just okay. But our sales man Mark at Round Rock Toyota was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to find the right Camry for us. My wife had to leave early to go get the kids but Mark was kind enough to stay and finish up the process quickly so I could get home to make practice. Thank you Mark and Round Rock Toyota for making this a smooth and nice experience.

Stay away

by qf3 on 08/23/2013

I wish I could give them zero stars. They held my car hostage after appraising it for trade in, keeping me there more than an hour longer that I wanted to stay. After many hours of negotiation, their best offer was still $2,000 more than Edmunds said I should pay, even after I told them I had researched the car thoroughly and knew what to expect. They gave me the runaround with 5 different sales people pretending to be "sales managers" when some of them obviously couldn't even manage themselves. The following day I got a phone call from yet another "sales manager" (who can say, it could have been one of the same) who asked what they could do to win my business. I told him he could knock a few thousand off the price and he laughed. He didn't make another offer or even restate the existing offer. He didn't even try. I got a great deal in South Austin with no hassle. See my review of Auto Nation.

Very happy!

by katd529 on 09/26/2012

I want to say from the time that I arrived within 10 min. 4 or 5 sales people had asked if I needed any thing or did I have any questions. We test drove a couple veh.'s and the young man that was our sales rep. would explain every thing and ask if we needed to ask any questions. (His name is Brian.) We went to Roundrock toyota on Sat. on Sunday I sent Brian a text message with a question and he text me back even though the dealership was closed. We ended up going back on Monday to puchase our new Prius V waggon. He was very attentive and the best saleman I've dealt with. I've purchased several cars over the last 30 years. This is my 1st Toyota. It was a very good experience.

Round Rock Auto Group= Over Priced

by swami4525 on 06/30/2012

I have bought 4 new cars in the last 4 years and Round Rock Auto group has consistently been at least 1,000-2,000 over priced compared to other dealers in the Austin/Round Rock area. Their service and warranty department is excellent but unless you want to throw away money don't buy a car new from Round Rock Auto group. I have even given them numerous opportunities to match other dealers prices and they have said no and allowed me to take my business else where.

Keep driving by

by civictoprius on 02/27/2011

Having commuting by this dealership for 10 years, it has an easy on and easy off access to the freeway (I-35N), and have gone there several times as new year Tundra, Tacoma, and Prius models come out. Always the same result: No response to email/online site; No phone calls returned from salespersons; trade-ins are given no value and rated below wholesale with a questionaire you must fill out; keys are taken and not given back until hours of getting the run-around from "white-shirts." It literally felt like I was going to have to go up on the roof and get my keys. There is one salesperson that is supposed to be retired military in the back you might run into, that claims to want to help military customers, but he did not treat me well as a military member as I wanted to buy a Prius they had on the showroom, they were selling as CPO (with 4000 miles), priced higher then a new car, they used as a loaner. Just did not seem like they wanted to sell a car, especially the pre-owned lot, waiting for hours after making appointments and the salesman not showing up. One salesperson had claimed to have known my supervisor and wife (ex-family friend) and I sat through about 45 minutes of bashing him, before I left the dealership never to return.

Need a new business model

by jaganii on 02/04/2010

Short but sweet. They are the closest dealership to where we live. But they are so far behind the times when it comes to sales and customer service. Only dealership I know that tacks on $1200 dollars worth of useless add-ons to every vehicle they sell, some of the items are just a rehash of the same stuff Gulf States puts on. Vehicle sealant, etc... . And their price negotiations go something like "MSRP plus add-ons, take it or leave it". People should expect more in this day and age, with all of the information at a consumers fingertips. But I guess there are enough people willing to put up with it because they are still in business.

Total Waste of Time

by paulfromaustin on 10/30/2009

I tried to buy a 2010 Prius from these [violative content deleted] with no success. They had little inventory, and were not willing to trade with other dealers, so I ordered one the way I wanted and started to wait. After 3 weeks the car was due in another week so I called to have the dealer prep the car with user options that *MUST* be set *BY* the dealer using special service equipment. These are options spelled out explicitly in the user's manual which states the dealer *MUST* set these they way you want. RR Toyota refused after initially saying doing so was illegal, then saying Toyota forbids it, then saying (since neither of the first two excuses were true) they just did not want to do it. When I said that was a deal breaker, they laughed and said they would have no problem selling the car I ordered to someone else and told me to get lost. They made me come down in person to request a refund of my deposit instead of doing that over the phone and then made me wait around for a couple of hours before they returned it. Fortunately I then when to [another dealership] who got me the car I wanted in one week and gladly set the options. [The other dealership] said setting the options is a common procedure they do all the time. Other Toyota dealers said the same. RR Toyota seems to be the only dealership with the unwillingness to do their job. RR Toyota demonstrated employee incompetence, lies from management, and a complete inability to perform their most basic function: selling cars.

Warning: Sales does not disclose all information when making a sale.

by rhaileycons on 04/29/2009

The window sticker uses the word "capability" 2 times in the same sentence explaining the radio extras. This first time was "cd player with MP3/WMA playback capability" and the second was "satelite radio capability". The sales person did not explain that the word "capability" had 2 different meanings. This first did not require any additional/external equipment but the second did. All I had to do was put a disc in the cd player that had wma files burned to it, no additional equipment needed to hear the music. Bu to hear xm radio, it required a $440 satelite receiver. My sales person did not disclose this with me. I read it and took it for what was written in black and white. After buying the car and trying to get the satellite working(get XM account) it did not work. When I confronted them on this issue, I was put of to Dan Beasley, supposedly the manager, and after not answering any questions nor showing me the satelite radio capability in my vehicle he kept saying "Good day sir!". This was my first and now my LAST Toyota purchase. Also, my sales person boasted that their service department is open until 7pm, BUT didn't tell me their technicians leave at 5pm, so they have an open service department with no technicians from 5pm to 7pm.

Tried to pull a bait and switch.

by smithj on 12/31/2008

I must say I liked the sales guy we talked to. Ex-military, unassuming & laid back, but maybe a little too good at his job. I informed him I was using Edmunds and he came up with a long list of bogus reasons why Edmunds isn't accurate for Toyotas. That was his way of explaining why he was $2000 over the suggested offer price from Edmunds. Unfortunately, there weren't many '08 Tundras left, so maybe that had something to do with his decision to name a price for a specific blue truck, then while we waited in his office for 10-15 minutes, to go a get a different blue one with about 5K worth of bells and whistles, all the while pretending not to realize it was the wrong truck. When he did acknowledge the mistake, he claimed the price difference was only $1200. Also, I found a windshield sticker in the console that said 20% off MSRP before Rebates. That would have put it right about at the correct offer price. He said that was from another dealership and wasn't in effect at theirs. Basically, he got everyone worked up that this one was in our price range. So, we went back to his office to talk about a deal. Of course, he acted very surprised back in his office when, low and behold, he couldn't possibly take less than an additional $4000 over the price we were working from. I chose not to make a stink since my wife and kids were there, but needless to say, we left and won't be back. Just for grins though, I pulled up the pricing on that truck from Edmunds and I found he was at least $4000 high. On another note, we made an offer to another dealer that night and got back a very reasonable counter offer. Bought the truck the next day. Thanks Edmunds!
